맹종죽의 수간곡선식 및 수간재적표 추정 (Estimation of Stem Taper Equations and Stem Volume Table for Phyllostachys pubescens Mazel in South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 대나무 중 맹종죽에 대해 수간곡선식을 도출하고, 이를 이용하여 재적표를 개발하기 위하여 수행되었다. 맹종죽의 수간곡선식을 도출하기 위하여 Max & Burkhart, Kozak, Lee의 세 가지 수간곡선 모형을 이용하였다. 대나무는 목질 특성 상 내부가 비어 있기 때문에 수간 외직경과 내직경을 산출하고, 이를 연결하여 수간곡선화 하였다. 세가지 수간곡선 모형을 이용하여 수간 외직경 및 내직경을 추정한 결과, Kozak 모형이 적합도지수가 가장 높고, 오차 및 편의가 가장 적어 최적 수간곡선식으로 선정되었다. Kozak 식으로 맹종죽의 수간고별 직경을 추정하고 수간곡선을 도식화하였다. 수간곡선식에 대한 잔차도를 확인한 결과, 잔차가 모두 "0"을 중심으로 분포하여 식의 적합성이 입증할 수 있었다. 맹종죽의 재적 산출을 위해 내직경, 외직경에 대해 각각 연결한 수간곡선식을 회전시켜 회전입방체를 만들었으며, Smalian 구분구적법으로 재적을 계산하였다. 외직경으로 산출된 재적에서 내직경에 의해 산출된 재적을 공제하여 맹종죽의 재적을 도출하였다. 맹종죽의 재적은 일반용재인 일본잎갈나무 재적과 비교해 볼 때, 그 양이 20~30%에 불과한 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 맹종죽의 현재 ha당 본수와 매년 발생되는 죽순의 양을 고려한다면 개체목의 재적은 다른수종에 비해 상대적으로 적더라도, ha당 재적은 유사하거나, 오히려 더 많을 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 최초로 맹종죽의 수간곡선식 및 수간재적표가 개발되었으며, 공익 및 산업 수요 확대가 예상되는 대나무에 대한 매각 거래, 탄소흡수량 산정 등에 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

  • Proper amount of entrained air and nip force should be also considered to minimize ballooning phenomenon since tight contact between a roller and web is required. In this paper, various web materials, PET(Polyester) and OPP(Oriented Poly Propylene) have been selected and investigated to satisfy high-speed printing requirement. Several web speeds, web tensions, and temperature conditions are imposed on each web materials and the pressure and gap profiles as well as nip force have been calculated. Increase of both the winding roller radius and the incoming wrap angle is considered under proper taper tension at 500 m/min of rewinding roller. By solving coupled Reynolds equation and web deflection equation simultaneously, the fluid-structure interaction process has been developed and is applied to the rewinding roller to investigate the ballooning phenomenon which causes guiding problems in high-speed printing performance conditions. By adjusting the linear taper tension, stress distribution between rewinding webs can be remarkably reduced and stable pressure and gap profile with ignorable ballooning phenomenon have been found.

삼나무의 수간곡선식 및 입목수간재적표 개발 (Development of a Stem Taper Equation and a Stem Table for Criptomeria japonica Stands in South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 정확도가 높은 Kozak 수간곡선모델을 이용하여 전국에 분포한 삼나무의 수간곡선식 및 입목수간재적표를 개발하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 전국에 분포하는 총 1,000본의 삼나무 표본목을 벌채하여 수간고별 직경을 측정하고 수간 형상을 파악할 수 있는 수간곡선식을 추정하였다. 추정한 모델의 통계적 적합도지수는 98.7%로 나타났고 편차는 -0.0142, 평균절대편차는 1.1640로 높은 적합도를 보였다. 또한 현행재적표와 신규재적표의 재적은 통계적으로 유의적인 차이를 보였다(p<0.05). 새롭게 개발된 재적표는 현실림을 반영한 것으로, 국가 및 지자체의 산림통계 정확도 향상과 목재 자원량 평가 시 발생할 수 있는 경제적 손실 방지에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the stability of tapered columns with clamped one end and carrying a tip mass of rotatory inertia with translational elastic support at the other end. The linearly tapered columns with the solid rectangular cross-section is adopted as the column taper. The differential equation governing free vibrations of such Beck columns is derived using the Bernoulli-Euler beam theory. Both the divergence and flutter critical loads are calculated from the load-frequency curves which are obtained by solving the differential equation. The critical loads are presented as functions of various non-dimensional system parameters: the taper type, the subtangential parameter, mass ratio and spring stiffness.

AMDM for free vibration analysis of rotating tapered beams

  • The free vibration of rotating Euler-Bernoulli beams with the thickness and/or width of the cross-section vary linearly along the length is investigated by using the Adomian modified decomposition method (AMDM). Based on the AMDM, the governing differential equation for the rotating tapered beam becomes a recursive algebraic equation. By using the boundary condition equations, the dimensionless natural frequencies and the closed form series solution of the corresponding mode shapes can be easily obtained simultaneously. The computed results for different taper ratios as well as different offset length and rotational speeds are presented in several tables and figures. The accuracy is assured from the convergence and comparison with the previous published results. It is shown that the AMDM provides an accurate and straightforward method of free vibration analysis of rotating tapered beams.

제주시험림의 붉가시나무 수간형태와 수간곡선식 추정 (Development of Stem Profile and Taper Equation for Quercus acuta in Jeju Experiment Forests)

  • 본 연구는 난대산림연구소의 제주시험림에 있는 붉가시나무(Quercus acuta)에 대한 개체목의 수간곡선식 추정 및 간재적을 추정하기 위하여 수행되었다. 최적의 추정식을 선택하기 위하여 Max and Burkhart식, Kozak식 및 Lee식을 적용하여 각 식의 직경 추정에 대한 검정 통계량 및 실측치와 추정치간의 오차분포를 검증하였다. 그 결과 Max and Burkhart식 및 Lee식이 특정 구간에서 과대치 또는 과소 추정치를 보인데 반하여 Kozak식은 전구간에서 고른 분포를 보였다. 추정력이 가장 좋은 Kozak식을 활용하여 수피포함 재적표를 작성하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 테이퍼된 전송선을 해석하여 이를 도파관 테이퍼에 적용함으로써 기존의 모드변환법인 tele egraphist 방정식에서 발생되는 문제점을 해결하였다. 그리고 다양한 특성을 갖는 테이터 함수를 비교.분석한 후 설계가 가장 용이하고 모드변환특성이 좋은 함수를 선택하여 테이퍼 설계에 적용하는 방볍을 제시하였고, 구조가 서로 다른 구형 도파관과 원형 도파관간의 모드변환기를 설계하였다. 설계된 데이타를 이용하여 제작된 모드변환기를 측정한 결과, 산란계수의 측정값은 이론값파 잘 일치되어 설계방법과 해석방법의 타당성을 입증할 수 있었다.

제주도 삼나무 수간재적표 개발을 위한 주요 수간곡선식 비교 (Evaluation of Major Taper Equation Models for Developing a Stem Volume Table of Cryptomeria japonica in Jeju Island)

  • This study was conducted to provide data and stem information to establish a local volume table of Cryptomeria japonica in Jeju Island. Stem analysis was performed on 26 trees by selecting two average trees from each site of the 13 plots of C. japonica stands in 2021 and 2022. During the analysis stage, one outlier tree was rejected, and a total of 260 observations of the specific stem height of 25 trees were used. Of the seven major taper equation models applied for parameter estimation and statistical verification, the Muhairwe 1999 model was found to be the best fit and selected as the optimal model. Stem shape-related estimates were acquired through the selected model, and sectional measurements according to the Smalian formula applied at an interval of 10 cm from the height of the stem were used to develop a volume table. A paired t-test comparison between the C. japonica volume obtained from the present study and those selected from the current yield table by NIFoS(2020), revealed significant differences (p<0.05), highlighting the necessity of a local volume table for C. japonica in Jeju Island.

수간곡선식 개발과 국가탄소배출계수를 이용한 졸참나무의 탄소저장량 추정 (Estimation of Carbon Stock by Development of Stem Taper Equation and Carbon Emission Factors for Quercus serrata)

  • This study was conducted to estimate carbon stocks of Quercus serrata with drawing volume of trees in each tree height and DBH applying the suitable stem taper equation and tree specific carbon emission factors, using collected growth data from all over the country. Information on distribution area, tree number per hectare, tree volume and volume stocks were obtained from the $5^{th}$ National Forest Inventory (2006~2010), and method provided in IPCC GPG was applied to estimate carbon storage and removals. Performance in predicting stem diameter at a specific point along a stem in Quercus serrata by applying Kozak's model,$d=a_1DBH^{a_2}a_3^{DBH}X^{b_1Z^2+b_2ln(Z+0.001)+b_3{\sqrt{Z}}+b_4e^Z+b_5({\frac{DBH}{H}})}$, which is well known equation in stem taper estimation, was evaluated with validations statistics, Fitness Index, Bias and Standard Error of Bias. Consequently, Kozak's model turned out to be suitable in all validations statistics. Stem volume tables of Quercus serrata were derived by applying Kozak's model and carbon stock tables in each tree height and DBH were developed with country-specific carbon emission factors ($WD=0.65t/m^3$, BEF=1.55, R=0.43) of Quercus serrata. As a result of carbon stock analysis by age class in Quercus serrata, carbon stocks of IV age class (11,358 ha, 36.5%) and V age class (10,432; 33.5%) which take up the largest area in distribution of age class were 957,000 tC and 1,312,000 tC. Total carbon stocks of Quercus serrata were 3,191,000 tC which is 3% compared with total percentage of broad-leaved forest and carbon sequestration per hectare(ha) was 3.8 tC/ha/yr, $13.9tCO_2/ha/yr$, respectively.

Stem volume table of P. densiflora was derived by applying Kozak's model and carbon stock tables in each tree height and DBH were developed with country-specific carbon emission factors ($WD=0.445t/m^3$, BEF = 1.445, R = 0.255) of P. densiflora. As the results of analysis in carbon uptake for each province, the values were high with Gangwon-do $9.4tCO_2/ha/yr$, Gyeongsandnam-do and Gyeonggi-do $8.7tCO_2/ha/yr$, Chungcheongnam-do $7.9tCO_2/ha/yr$ and Gyeongsangbuk-do $7.8tCO_2/ha/yr$ in order, and Jeju-do was the lowest with $6.8tC/ha/yr$. Total carbon stocks of P. densiflora were 127,677 thousands tC which is 25.5% compared with total percentage of forest and carbon stock per hectare (ha) was $84.5tC/ha/yr$ and $7.8tCO_2/ha/yr$, respectively.
