  • This paper analyzed Air Interface of EPCglobal's Class-0 that is UHF band protocol among radio environment protocol standard that is used to RFID system. And embodied prescribed anticollision algorithm in protocol. Also, the improved anticollision algorithm for the Class-0 protocol is proposed and performances of anticollision algorithm are compared. Result that compare performance of standard algorithm through simulation with improved algorithm, improved Class-0 algorithm when is tag number 100, reduced 8%, and when is tag number 1000, 12.2%. According as tag number increases, total realization time of improved algorithm decreased more gradually better than prescribed algorithm. Therefore, the improved anticollision algorithm proposed in this paper is advanced method improving the performance of tag recognition in the RFID system and Ubiquitous sensor network.

  • Both EPCglobal Generation-2 (Gen2) for passive RFID systems and Intelleflex for semi-passive RFID systems use probabilistic slotted ALOHA with Q algorithm, which is a kind of dynamic framed slotted ALOHA (DFSA), as the tag anti-collision algorithm. A better tag anti-collision algorithm can reduce collisions so as to increase the efficiency of tag identification. In this paper, we introduce and analyze the estimation methods of the number of slots and tags for DFSA. To increase the efficiency of tag identification, we propose two new tag anti-collision algorithms, which are Chebyshev's inequality (CHI) algorithm and hybrid Q algorithm, and compare them with the conventional Q algorithm and adaptive adjustable framed Q (AAFQ) algorithm, which is mentioned in Part I. The simulation results show that AAFQ performs the best in Gen2 scenario. However, in Intelleflex scenario the proposed hybrid Q algorithm is the best. That is, hybrid Q provides the minimum identification time, shows the more consistent collision ratio, and maximizes throughput and system efficiency in Intelleflex scenario.

  • In recent year, the cores of ubiquitous environment are sensor networks and RFID systems. RFID system transmits the electronic information of the tag to the reader by using RF signal. Collision happens in RFID system when there are many matched tags, and it degrades the tag identification performance. Such a system needs algorithm which is able to arbitrate tag collision. This paper suggests a hybrid method which reduces collision between the tags, and can quickly identify the tag. The proposed method operates based on certainty, which takes an advantage of tree based algorithm, and to reduce collision it selects transmission time slot by using tag ID. The simulation results show the suggested method has higher performance in the number of queries and collision compared to other tree based and hybrid algorithms.

  • In this paper, we propose a hybrid music recommendation system combining users' listening habits and tag information in a social music site. Most of commercial music recommendation systems recommend music items based on the number of plays and explicit ratings of a song. However, the approach has some difficulties in recommending new items with only a few ratings or recommending items to new users with little information. To resolve the problem, we use tag information which is generated by collaborative tagging. According to the meaning of tags, a weighted value is assigned as the score of a tag of an music item. By combining the score of tags and the number of plays, user profiles are created and collaborative filtering algorithm is executed. For performance evaluation, precision, recall, and F-measure are calculated using the listening habit-based recommendation, the tag score-based recommendation, and the hybrid recommendation, respectively. Our experiments show that the hybrid recommendation system outperforms the other two approaches.

  • The Escherichia coli K-12 and B strains are among the most frequently used bacterial hosts for scientific research and biotechnological applications. However, omics analyses have revealed that E. coli K-12 and B exhibit notably different genotypic and phenotypic attributes, even though they were derived from the same ancestor. In a previous study, we identified a limited number of proteins from the two strains using two-dimensional gel electrophoresis and tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). In this study, an in-depth analysis of the physiological behavior of the E. coli K-12 and B strains at the proteomic level was performed using six-plex isobaric tandem mass tag-based quantitative MS. Additionally, the best lysis buffer for increasing the efficiency of protein extraction was selected from three tested buffers prior to the quantitative proteomic analysis. This study identifies the largest number of proteins in the two E. coli strains reported to date and is the first to show the dynamics of these proteins. Notable differences in proteins associated with key cellular properties, including some metabolic pathways, the biosynthesis and degradation of amino acids, membrane integrity, cellular tolerance, and motility, were found between the two representative strains. Compared with previous studies, these proteomic results provide a more holistic view of the overall state of E. coli cells based on a single proteomic study and reveal significant insights into why the two strains show distinct phenotypes. Additionally, the resulting data provide in-depth information that will help fine-tune processes in the future.

  • To guarantee security between the tag and back-end server and implementation efficiency in low power tag, we propose two typed mutual authentication protocols in RFID system. One is static-ID authentication scheme which is well suitable in distributed server environments. The other is dynamic-ID scheme which is additively satisfied forward security. In proposed scheme, it does not need any random number generator in tag and requires only one(maximally three) hash operation(s) in tag or server to authenticate each other. Furthermore, we implement the proposed schemes in RFID smart card system and verify its normal operations.

  • An RFID system comprises a reader and a tag, and this paper focuses on a tag design. A UHF tag is activated by energy supply using electromagnetic waves and energy reflection through impedance mismatching. The tag uses a $0.25{\mu}m$ CMOS process and comprises a digital part executing tag protocols, a 512-bit memory, and an analog part having a rectifier, a modulation/demodulation unit, a clock generator, etc. The total dimension of the tag, including a saw line, is $750{\mu}m*750{\mu}m$ and the power consumption of the tag consumption power is about $17.8{\mu}W$ at a supply voltage of 2V.

  • In many applications a reader needs to determine whether a particular tag exists within a group of tags without a server. This is referred to as serverless RFID tag searching. A few protocols for the serverless RFID searching are proposed but they are the single tag search protocol which can search a tag at one time. In this paper, we propose a multi-tag search protocol based on a hash function and a random number generator which can search some tags at one time. For this study, we introduce a protocol which can resolve the problem of synchronization of seeds when communication error occurs in the S3PR protocol[1], and propose a multi-tag search protocol which can reduce the communication overhead. The proposed protocol is secure against tracking attack, impersonation attack, replay attack and denial-of-service attack. This study will be the basis of research for multi-tag serach protocol.

  • Fixed frame size is used in the RFID system with the frame-based slot ALOHA algorithm. Therefore, it is anticipated that the tag identification performances will highly depend on the number of tags within the reader's identification range and the frame size. In this paper, we propose a tag number estimation scheme and analyze the performance with the computer simulations. The proposed scheme is based on the status of slots that the tags respond during a query round as well as the probabilistic calculations.

  • In this paper a technology which gives directions to people and also localization of the robotic vacuum cleaners inside some spacious buildings is developed. For this purpose, it is confirmed that which pattern has a small error in dealing with the indoor localization with various RFID tag arrangements attached on the ground. This experiment was conducted by using MT92(900MHz range Antenna) and ALR 9900+(Reader). As a result, the square arrangement has the least error, 21.19cm, among other patterns which are diamond, rectangle and regular hexagon. However, it is necessary to consider the number of tags in the unit area, from this point of view the regular hexagon arrangement is the most efficient arrangement among other patterns because it needs only 6 tags in the unit area.
