The Korean functional Genomics Project focuses on stomach and liver cancers. Specimens collected by six hospital teams are used in BNA microarray experiments. Experimental conditions, spot measurement data, and the associated clinical information are stored in a relational database. Microarray database schema was developed based on EBI's ArrayExpress. A diagrammatic representation of the schema is used to help navigate over marty tables in the database. Field description, table-to-table relationship, and other database features are also stored in the database and these are used by a PERL interface program to generate web-based input forms on the fly. As such, it is rather simple to modify the database definition and implement controlled vocabularies. This PERL program is a general-purpose utility which can be used for inputting and updating data in relational databases. It supports file upload and user-supplied filters of uploaded data. Joining related tables is implemented using JavaScripts, allowing this step to be deferred to a later stage. This feature alleviates the pain of inputting data into a multi-table database and promotes collaborative data input among several teams. Pathological finding, clinical laboratory parameters, demographical information, and environmental factors are also collected and stored in a separate database. The same PERL program facilitated developing this database and its user-interface.
In this paper, we propose a new technique which allows to store the pre-scaling constants directly in a table thus eliminating the cycle for computing pre-scaling constants. Especially we analyzed the range of pre-scalingconstants and rearranged them in a carry-save form using two look-up tables so that the size of the tables can be reduced significantly. The resulting scheme is compared with the previously developed method and shown to be effective with respect to area and time to implement the high-radix divider.
By using local earthquake data, the Korean crust model and travel-time tables were determined. The upper crustal earthquakes (Hongsung event and Ssanggyesa event) were considered as auxiliary information, and the lower crustal earthquakes (Uljin event and Pohang event) played an important role in determining model parameters. The possible existence of Low Velocity Layer (LVL) in the upper mantle was suggested by discrepancy in the arrival times of Sariwon earthquake which occurred below Moho discontinuity. Computer program for the determination of the model parameters was developed in order to screened out the optimum parameters by comparing the travel times of observed data with theoretical ones. We found that the discontinuities of Conrad, Moho, and upper and lower boundaries of LVL have their depth of 15, 32, 55 and 75 Km, respectively. The velocities of P-and S-wave in the layers between those discontinities were found to be (1) 5.98, 3.40 Km/sec (2) 6.38, 3.79 Km/sec (3) 7.95, 4.58 Km/sec (4) unknown (5) 8.73, 5.05 Km/sec, respectively from the top layer. Travel-time tables were also computed for the inter-local earthquakes which have their direct wave paths above the LVL.
It is generally assumed about trip distribution estimation model that growth factor model's estimation accuracy is higher than that of other models in short-term and that gravity model's estimation accuracy is higher than that of other models in long-term. For validation of such assumptions, this study compares estimation accuracies of each estimation model using 3year(1988, 1992, 2004) O-D tables from Daegu city. Each estimation model's accuracy were compared by mid-size and large-size zone as well as short-term and long-term target years. The results show that the trip distribution estimation model selection by usual assumption is not always right.
A comparison study between two low temperature opacity tables has been conducted. The opacity is the one of the major input physics in stellar model construction. Opacity is generally provided in a tabular form and as a function of 3 parameters, ie, density, temperature and chemical composition. Among available opacity tables, it has been common practice to utilize OPAL opacity table (Iglesias & Rogers, 1996) augmented with Ferguson opacity table (Ferguson et al. 2005) for the low temperature domain. For low temperature domain, another table, AESOPUS (Marigo & Aringer, 2009), has been announced in 2007. Reportedly, this opacity covers even lower temperature region, and is compatible with that of Ferguson in the overlapping temperature domain. To test the compatibility, stellar models and isochrones for various ranges in mass, metallicity and chemical composition, have been constructed. It is confirmed that there is no significant difference in the stellar models and isochrones constructed with the two different low temperature opacities. Therefore, in the construction of stellar models and isochrones, Ferguson low temperature opacity can be replaced with the AESOPUS opacity. The wider range in the temperature and chemical mixtures, and the easier accessibility make AESOPUS favorable in practical purpose.

This paper studies Bayesian test of homogeneity in contingency tables made by discretizing a continuous variable. Sometimes when we are considering events of interest in small area setup, we can think of discretization approaches about the continuous variable. If we properly discretize the continuous variable, we can find invisible relationships between areas (groups) and a continuous variable of interest. The proper discretization of the continuous variable can support the alternative hypothesis of the homogeneity test in contingency tables even if the null hypothesis was not rejected through k-sample tests involving one-way ANOVA. In other words, the proportions of variables with a particular level can vary from group to group by the discretization. If we discretize the the continuous variable, it can be treated as an analysis of the contingency table. In this case, the chi-squared test is the most commonly employed method. However, further discretization gives rise to more cells in the table. As a result, the count in the cells becomes smaller and the accuracy of the test becomes lower. To prevent this, we can consider the Bayesian approach and apply it to the setup of the homogeneity test.
The purpose of this study is to analyze physical characteristics, spatial composition, and using behavior of lounges in elderly skilled nursing facilities as spaces for activity programs and also to evaluate the spaces with the framework based on the indices for performing activity programs in elderly facilities. The results of the study were as follows: First, the lounge of an independent type ensured the privacy to perform programs, and so activities were managed more systematically. On the other hand, an expanded corridor type made the elderly feel difficult to pay attention to activities due to co-use of lounges and corridors. In a lounge of a hall type, the elderly had easy access to the place, but it also had weak home-like atmosphere because the space was used as a lobby entrance. Second, the facilities with western types of tables in whole lounges showed big changes in spatial composition, such as moving all the tables for any activities. It resulted in more preparation time and created obstacles in passages and space use. Third, in the evaluation of lounges based on the framework, most of lounges had accessibility of good quality, but they needed to improve home-like atmosphere and flexibility. To create home-like atmosphere, various spatial compositions and classifications in the lounge should be tried. Moreover, enough space and easy movable furniture can be considered for flexible spatial compositions.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the analytic-assembling(faceted analysis) methods applied in enumerative-hierarchical classification schemes. (mainly in KDC) The methods are summarized as follows : 1. For the enumerative-hierarchical classification schemes, in principle the subjects are divided into subdivisions by only one facet at the same level, and step by step. However some subjects, for example 'library and information science' 'education' and others in KDC, are divided into subdivisions by multiple facets at same level like Colon Classification. 2. Most of enumerative-hierarchical classification schemes have various kinds of auxiliary tables, such as standard subdivisions, areas, periods, and languages. Each of them is considered as foci by a facet applied to subdivide all kinds of subjects or some special subjects into lower level. 3. To classify the compound subjects with phase relation, KDC provides ready-made classification numbers or notes that says 'divide by 001-999'(whole subjects) of 'divide by xxx-xxx'(limited scope of subjects). The ready-made compound subjects, or subdividing by whole or limited scope of subjects are similar to representation of phase relation in Colon Classification. Yet these analytic-assembling methods in KDC are needed to be supplemented and amended. Subdividing methods for faceted analysis have to be unified through the whole schedule. The auxiliary tables should be enlarged and subdivided more specifically. And for representation of phase relation, the linking signs can be useful in KDC as well as UDC and other analytic-assembling classification schemes like Colon Classification.

The Dose calculation program for the Buchler remote after-loading system was developed. We use iridium source for the tandem and cessium for the ovoids. We determined the source length and distributions by dividing the program disk to 72 points. The dose rate for the each program disk were calculated and stored to the tables for the xy coordinates. The dose rate for the interesting points for the patients were calculated by using these tables. We also made isodose curve from the calculations. By using the program, we could calculate the dose rate for the various points of the patient quickly and accurately.

This paper has an intention of proposing useful parametric tables of each industry group within Korea. These parametric tables can be insightful criteria for those who are dealing with the exact valuation of company, technology or industry through Real Option Analysis (ROA) since the identification of the movement of underlying asset is the very first step to be done. To give the exact estimations of parameters and the most preferred model in each industry group, we cover topics on ROA, stochastic process, and parametric estimation method like Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) and Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE). Additionally, specific industry groups, such as, Internet service group and mobile telecommunication service group defined independently in this paper are also examined in terms of its property of movement with the suggesting of the most fitting stochastic model.
