  • 플랫폼 독립형 클래스 저장소(PICR : Platform Independent Class Repository)에 저장되어 있는 컴포넌트를 망관리 시스템의 분삭객체로 아웃소싱하여 사용하는 Farming 방법론을 실제 TMN 에이전트의 구축에 적용하였을 때 나타나는 결과를 ATM과 같은 고속망을 DCN(Data Communication Network)으로 하는 경우에 대하여 성능평가를 하였다.

  • We present a new video coding technique to tradeoff frame rate and picture quality for low bit rate video coding. We show a model equation for selecting the optimal frame rate from the motion content of the source video. We can determine DCT quantization parameter (QP) using the frame rate and bit rate. For objective video quality measurement we propose a simple and effective error measure for skipped frames. The proposed method enhances the video quality up to 2 ㏈ over the H.263 TMN5 encoder.

  • The modern telecommunication networks are composed of various network-type and are managed by various management technologies, such as TMN, SNMP, TINA etc. Furthermore, the network user's needs of real-time multimedia services are rapidly increasing. In order to guarantee the user-requested quality-of-service(QoS) and keep the network utilization at maximum, it is required to manage the network performance continuously after the network is deployed. The performance management function should provide the useful information for the network expansion and the capacity reallocation in the future. In this paper, we propose a DPE-based performance management architecture for the integrated management of the heterogeneous network elements with TMN and SNMP. We propose an approach to provide the Intranet traffic monitoring and analysis function using layered network management concept and distributed processing technology. The proposed architecture has been designed and implemented based on multiprocess and multithread structure to support concurrent processing. To manage the traffic according to the Intranet service categories, we implemented an ITMA(Intelligent Traffic Monitoring Agent) with packet capture library. With the proposed architecture, we could measure and analyze the real Intranet traffic of Yeungnam University.

A study on the Efficient Rate Control Scheme Based on Received Power Level for Mobile Multimedia Streaming System (무선 이동통신 망에서의 효과적인 영상 통신을 위한 전송 신호 세기 기반의 비트율 제어 방법 연구)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient rate control scheme based on the received power level to overcome a quality degradation of video under time varying channel condition caused by the movement of mobile devices. First, we statistically obtain the relation between the PLR and the received power level. With this information and the sequences of received power level, we calculate the transition probability for the Markov Channel Model. Then, with using Markov chain rule, we obtain the probability where the channel condition remains in a good state and finally find the efficient target bit rate by multiplying it by the offered bandwidth when the network access has begun. We use TMN8 to adjust the bit rate to our proposed outcome. Experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently enhance the video quality and provide better PSNR performance than with only using TMN8 rate control method.

Implementation of Real Resource Simulator for TMN (TMN을 위한 실제자원 시뮬레이터 구현)

  • In this paper, we propose a RRS(real resource simulator) that supports the development and operational test of network management system before the development of real resources. The components of the RRS are the MOT(Managed Object Table) that holds the current status information of real resources, the SDT(Simulation Data Table) that holds the characteristics of real resources defined by user, the support functions that generate the random values and random interval values, the scheduling table that holds the sequence of events, and the main kernel. Users can set up behaviors of the RRS by extended-GDMO description. We present the structure of our extended-GDMO compiler and activities of RRS. We also show the interaction between user and the RRS, interaction between the RRS and the agent, and interaction among the NMS, the agent and the RRS.

  • Network management in TMN concerns to the operating system and communication equipments in network, and defines them as objects. GDMO(guidelines for the Definition of Managed Objects) is used to describe those objects. GDMO is not directly used for managing the network, but translated into a language with object-oriented paradigm. And GDMO refers to ASN.1(Abstract Syntax Notation One) for manage objects. This paper presents design and implementation techniques for the translator which automatically translates the specification of ASN.1 and GDMO to the object-oriented language for generating MIB(Managed object Instance Base). This system, unlike the existing source code generator, is designed to generate various object-oriented languages automatically, which are used to generate Managed object Instance Base(MIB). And the system includes various graphic user interface to enhance the development environment of ASn.1 and GDMO

  • 본 논문에서는 다양한 통신망을 통합 관리하기위해 ISO 및 ITU-T에서 권고하고 있는 CMIP기반의 TMN체계를 따른 ATM/B-ISDN망 관리에 있어서 에이전트 플랫폼위에 개발된 GUI 기반의 관리 객체 개발환경(MODE)을 이용한다. MODE를 이용하여 ATM스위치 관리를 위한 GDMO(Guidelines For DEFINITION of Managed Object) source를 입력받아 관리 객체 생성 구현 방법을 제시한다. MODE는 크게 GDMO Compiler, SDC Development, Database(DB)로 구성된다.

  • 본고에서는 CCITT 권고안(TMN)의 개념에 의거하여 국내 ISDN을 효율적으로 지원하고, 기능의 추가 및 확장이 가능한 형태의 ISDN O&M의 구조를 제안하여 ISDN O&M를 기능적으로 감시제어부, 유지보수 및 망 관리부로 구분하고 이러한 O&M 구조하에서 기존 O&M 기능과의 정합을 위하여는 운용망 인터페이스를 통하여 기능적으로 접속되어야 하고 새로운 NE와 OS간의 기능 분담에 관하여 언급하고 있다.

PC-Based Realtime Implementation of H.263 CODEC Using SIMD Method (SIMD기법에 의한 H.263 코덱의 PC기반 실시간 구현)

  • This paper implements H.263 codec using SIMD(single instruction multiple data) method in real time based on PC. This system uses INS algorithm previously proposed by the authors as motion estimation module. SIMD method is used in DCT, IDCT, quantization, motion estimation, and display module. The developed algorithms are implemented using TMN5. Using the above algorithm, H.263 Codec can communicate more than 15 frames/sec in CIF resolution on a Pentium-IV 1.7GHz computer.

초고속 통신망 서비스관리 구조

  • 본 논문은 앞으로 전개될 초고속 통신망이 가지고 있어야 할 서비스 관리 구조에 대해 논 한다. 서비스 관리 구조라 함은 통신망의 고객이 통신망 서비스를 사용할 수 있도록 해주는 통신망 소프트웨어 구조를 칭한다. 현재 서비스 관리는 IN, TMN에서 각각 정의하여 표준화 진행 중이거나 연구 중에 있고, DAVIC에서도 통신망(DAVIC에서는 Delivery System 이라고 함)에서 다루어야 할 서비스 관리의 요구 사항을 작성하였다. 한편 TINA-C에서는 이러한 서비스 관리를 보다 체계적으로 정리하고 있으나 아직 많은 부분의 연구가 필요하다. 한국 통신에서는 초고속 정보통신망(ATM-Highway)을 위한 서비스 관리 구조를 TINA-C의 결과를 기반으로 하여 좀더 체계적으로 정리하여 규격화하고 있다.
