  • TCMS(Train Control & Management System) control monitor and test the main on-board equipments including propulsion/brake unit by the serial transmission line. TCMS reduces interface circuits and number of train lines by the software logic and utilizing serial communication method. This paper describes the method of powering and braking control by TCMS software logic, and the software logic is verified by running test at Seoul Subway Line# 6. By running test result, we can see TCMS successfully control Powering/Braking of train

  • TCMS(Train Control & Management System) is the management system of train information which intensively control, monitor and test the main on-board equipments including propulsion/brake unit by the serial transmission line. TCMS reduces interface circuits and number of train lines by the software logic and utilizing serial communication method. This paper describes the method of powering and braking control by TCMS software logic, in comparison with the powering/braking control by conventional relay logic/hardwire circuits, and the software logic was verified by simulation test with TCMS simulator.

  • The train control and monitoring system (TCMS) is an on board computer system in railway vehicles performing the control, supervisory and diagnostic functions of the complete train system. This system replaces a lot of hard-wired relays and minimizes the necessary vehicle wiring thus increasing the reliability of the train. It is also one of more important equipment on vehicle to implement much higher safety and reliability train system. We studied a software design technique of TCMS using a CASE tool that is a kind of safety critical software engineering tool (SCADE). This tool has mainly four functions such as the graphical editor, the document maker, tile automatically code generator, and the test simulator. The several functions of TCMS are implemented in this software easily programmed using a functional block diagram and a graphic programming language. We applied to automatically generated TCMS modules on the SCADE each functional block for the Standard type EMU in Korea. We performed the combination test using TCMS simulator and the running test in Seoul subway 7 Line. We proved that this technique is more useful for the software design of TCMS in urban transit

Reliability and Concurrent Validity of Korean Version of the Trunk Control Measurement Scale (K-TCMS) for Children with Cerebral Palsy

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop a Korean version of the trunk control measurement scale (TCMS) and examine the reliability and concurrent validity of the K-TCMS in children with cerebral palsy. Methods: Subjects for the study were 23 children with cerebral palsy (CP)(mean age: 84.70 months) recruited from one CP clinic. For the interrater and test-retest reliabilities, four raters (A, B, C, D) measured the K-TCMS two times using video clips with an interval of two weeks. For the concurrent validity, the Korean version of the gross motor function measure (K-GMFM) was chosen. Inter-rater reliability and test-retest reliability of the three K-TCMS subscale (static sitting balance, dynamic sitting balance and dynamic reaching) scores and the total scores were investigated using the intra-correlation coefficient ($ICC_{3,1}$). Spearman's correlation coefficient (r) was calculated to investigate the concurrent validity. Results: The inter-rater reliability of the K-TCMS subscales and total scores were all high ($ICC_{3,1}=0.968-0.992$). For the test-retest reliability, $ICC_{3,1}=0.827-0.962$. The concurrent validity between the K-TCMS's total and three subscale scores and K-GMFM's total score were r=0.600-0.667. Conclusion: The results suggest that the K-TCMS can be used in clinical and research settings as a standardized tool for CP children. The K-TCMS might be also useful for selecting treatment goals and planning interventions for children with cerebral palsy.

  • Display Unit(DU) of TCMS is very useful device display many data for operation and maintenance graphically. At This Time, rolling stock is reducing the wiring and size of desk for cutting down on their cost and making light weight. Dual Du(Display Unit) of TCMS could make the desk of cab simply by integrating cab's switches and gauges. Dual DU is not only can reduce the wiring and simplify desk of cab but also can making system of TCMS reliable by including backup function each other. For this reason. In this paper, advantages, application and example analysis of Dual DU of TCMS for rolling stock are described through the ongoing projects.

  • Recently, we developed a new subway train with many cooperative companies. The main controller of the subway train is Control and Monitoring System (TCMS), so we conducted requirement analysis of TCMS considering system performance, easy maintenance and service oriented flexibility. Hence, we adopted new bus architecture and QNX as a Real-time Operating System (RTOS) and developed hardware systems. The functions of TCMS are employed into two computers, service computer and control/monitor computer, to increase on their performance and to yield easy maintenance and to satisfy customer needs. The TCMS controls and monitors control devices equipped in the train through various protocols which are implemented in hardware. In order to evaluate the performance of the system and to satisfy reliability, various experiments including EMC/ECI were performed. Now the TCMS is installed on the newly developed train and is under performance evaluation through test driving.

  • TCMS is the most important controller in the subway train for reliable train control and service oriented flexibility. TCMS software charges communications and control of train and maintains control devices so we use QNX for real-time control. This paper introduces overall software development of TCMS using various diagrams. Software implementation details in TC and CC are explained using deployment diagram through train configuration. Driving control process among many processes is focused to present implement details which controls train by driver or automatic train operation and handles commands to control deriving devices in cars. Reliable operation of train and easy maintenance process is achieved through the same hardware in train control computer and car control computer.

  • Operation data and fault data are recorded at the TCMS(Train Control and Monitoring System) of train are very important record for repairs and inspection of train. there are two ways to transfer the data today. one is using memory card and the other is using wireless communications. This paper is proposed about TCMS wireless depot analytical equipment that transfers data recorded in train to depot equipment via wireless method. The TCMS wireless depot equipment configuration is an AP(Access Point) and a central server PC at depot equipment. This method has the advantage of decrease of personnel expenses, collection time and convenience of staffs. This paper is verified about the utility of use, efficient establishment position of an AP at depot, the safety of data receiving, the exactitude of data and the shortening of transmission time. and this equipment is now operating at shin-jeong depot of SeoulMetro.

  • The train control and monitoring system(TCMS) is an on board computer system in railway vehicles performing the control, supervisory and diagnostic functions of the complete train.   • This paper presents the configuration of simulator for the functional test of TCMS on developing. This simulator is composed of three cabinets. There is equipped the TCMS system which have the same configuration of 1 train(SMG Line 7&8) on the two cabinets. And there are equipped VME PC, VME CPU Board and I/F modules on the rest cabinet. This simulator has tow parts, which are user I/F part and Real-time signal processing part. We programed user I/F part with Visual C++ to support GUI function, and signal processing part with RTOS to support Real-Time signal processing. This simulator can produce all the signal and data for the TCMS functional testing.
