Deer can be one of the susceptible animals to bovine infectious diseases, and thus, may play a role either as a reservoir or amplifier host for spreading the diseases to other species such as cattle and goat. This study was conducted to determine the serum antibodies to bacterial infectious diseases for brucellosis, tuberculosis (TB), paratuberculosis (Johne's disease) in deer. Serum samples were randomly collected from 78 deer from 31 farms at Jeonbuk province, and 7 wild water deer from Jeonbuk wild animal treatment center during 2005 to 2007, respectively. Four farm deer (5.1%) showed antibodies to tuberculosis using Antigen Rapid Bovine TB Ab Test Kit. One elk (1.3%) and one wild water deer had antibodies for paratuberculosis. Antibody against Brucellosis was not detected in tube agglutination test (TAT) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). These data suggest that caution should be applied to inspection of velvet, deer blood and meat for human consumption from deer because of zoonotic bacterial diseases in deer. In addition, farmed deer can be a transmissible host for zoonotic disease to diary or raising farm.

This paper studies mismatched scalar quantization of a generalized gamma source by a quantizer that is optimally (in the mean square error sense) designed for another generalized gamma source. Specifically, it considers variance-mismatched quantization which occurs when the variance of the source to be quantized differs from tat of the designed-for source. The main result is the two distortion formulas derived from Bennett's integral. The first formula is an approximation expression that uses the outermost threshold of an optimum scalar quantizer, and the second formula, in turn, uses an approximation formula for this outermost threshold. Numerical results are obtained for Laplacian sources, which are example of a generalized gamma source, and comparisons are made between actual mismatched distortions and the two formulas. These numerical results show that the two formulas become more accurate, as the number of quantization points gets larger and the ratio of the source variance to that of the designed-for source gets bigger. For example, the formulas are within 2~4% of the actual distortion for approximately 64 quantization points or more. In conclusion, the proposed approximation formulas are considered to have contribution as closed formulas and for their accuracy.
Following the COVID-19 pandemic, congestion within container terminals has led to a significant increase in waiting time and turnaround time for external trucks, resulting in a severe inefficiency in gate-in and gate-out operations. In response, port authorities have implemented a Vehicle Booking System (VBS) for external trucks. It is currently in a pilot operation. However, due to issues such as information sharing among stakeholders and lukewarm participation from container transport entities, its improvement effects are not pronounced. Therefore, this study proposed a deep learning-based predictive model for external trucks turnaround time as a foundational dataset for addressing problems of waiting time for external trucks' turnaround time. We experimented with the presented predictive model using actual operational data from a container terminal, verifying its predictive accuracy by comparing it with real data. Results confirmed that the proposed predictive model exhibited a high level of accuracy in its predictions.
In a previous study, a set of polygon-mesh (PM)-based skin models including a $50-{\mu}m-thick$ radiosensitive target layer were constructed and used to calculate skin dose coefficients (DCs) for idealized external beams of electrons. The results showed that the calculated skin DCs were significantly different from the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) Publication 116 skin DCs calculated using voxel-type ICRP reference phantoms that do not include the thin target layer. The difference was as large as 7,700 times for electron energies less than 1 MeV, which raises a significant issue that should be addressed subsequently. In the present study, therefore, as an extension of the initial, previous study, skin DCs for three other particles (photons, protons, and helium ions) were calculated by using the PM-based skin models and the calculated values were compared with the ICRP-116 skin DCs. The analysis of our results showed that for the photon exposures, the calculated values were generally in good agreement with the ICRP-116 values. For the charged particles, by contrast, there was a significant difference between the PM-model-calculated skin DCs and the ICRP-116 values. Specifically, the ICRP-116 skin DCs were smaller than those calculated by the PM models-which is to say that they were under-estimated-by up to ~16 times for both protons and helium ions. These differences in skin dose also significantly affected the calculation of the effective dose (E) values, which is reasonable, considering that the skin dose is the major factor determining effective dose calculation for charged particles. The results of the current study generally show that the ICRP-116 DCs for skin dose and effective dose are not reliable for charged particles.
Extraction of soybean oil from full tat soybean flour was performed using a supercritical carbon dioxide extraction system. Extraction pressure and temperature of the process were 3,000-7,000 psig and $40-70^{\circ}C$, repectively. For the extraction of lg of soybean oil, 25l of carbon was consumed at 7,000 psig and $60^{\circ}C$, whereas more than 2501 of carbon dioxide was consumed at 3,000 psig and $60^{\circ}C$. The solubility of soybean oil in supercritical carbon dioxide decreased with the increase in temperature below 6,000 psig, and the reverse trend was observed above 6,000 psig. At 6,000 psig the solubilities were shown to be, constant regardless of extraction temperature. Soybean oils , extracted with supercritical carbon dioxide were lighter in color and contained less phosphorus than those extracted with hexane.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate GDH & Toxin (GDT) tests for the identification of the presence of Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) as well as to detect whether any toxin was present in the feces of patients suspected of diarrhea associated with C. difficile. Data related to the results of toxin and culture (TC) tests and GDT tests conducted on patients with diarrhea and suspected CDI between January 2017 and august 2018, positive test rates, patient ages and sexes, whether the patients were hospitalized, and turnaround time (TAT) were analyzed retrospectively. Of the 7,554 total tests conducted for CDI diagnosis, 1,010 TC tests (14.9%) were positive, while 92 GDT tests (12.0%) were positive. Of these positive cases, 815 (80.7%) identified through TC test and 80 (87%) identified through GDT test were inpatients. also, among the patients with positive test results, 497 (49.2%) diagnosed through TC test and 45 (48.9%) diagnosed through GDT test were aged 61 years or older. The total time required to complete a TC test was 83.6 hours, while the time required for a GDT test was 11.2 hours, equating to an approximately three-day difference between the two tests. The detection of toxin-producing C. difficile is important in CDI diagnosis, but the commonly used Enzymeimmunoassay (EIA) toxin tests with low sensitivity result in delayed CDI diagnosis time. Therefore, primary screening tests for CDI diagnosis using the GDT method and secondary tests using additional methods are considered most effective.
This study was designed to compare various dietary assessment methods and to determine the appropriate method that would be reliable for monitoring the adherence to a fat-modified diet. Dietary intake data was collected from the twenty-two (12 males, 10 females), type IIa hypercholesterolemic patients by the 24-hour dietary recall and the food records of various durations(9, 7, 4, 3days). Intakes of energy, protein, fat, carbohydrates, cholesterol, polyunsaturated fatty acids, saturated fatty acids, monounsaturated fatty acids, P/S ratio, and alcohol were analyzed by a computer-assisted method using the Natinal Heart, Lungand Blood Institute Nutrition Data System. The nutrient intake data of the 24-hour recall method were consistently higher than tat of the food record method. In all subjects, food record keeping of the 7 consecutive days provided acceptable dietary data (within 5% difference) when compared to that of the 9 consecutive days. Food records of 4 consecutive days however, were found to be adequate for female subjects, showing a sex difference. Except for P/S ratio, nutrient intakes did not vary significantly between weekdays and weekend-days. Among other components, alcohol and P/S ratio were shown to be the two most varied components in this study.

The purpose of this study is to find the light intensity which induced maximum gathering rate and to observe the variation of the gathering rate both in daytime and tat night by using Striped puffer, Fugu xanthopterus (Temminck et Schlegel). An experimental tank(360L$\times$50W$\times$55H cm) was set up in a dark room. An illumination system was attached to the end of one side of the tank to control horizontal light intensity. Eight artificial light sources were prepared by combination of three light bulbs (10W, 60W, 100W) and eight filters. During the experiment water depth was maintained 50 cm level in the tank. The tank was marked into six longitudinal sections each being 60cm long to observe the distribution of fish. The fish were acclimatized in dark condition for 50 minutes prior to the main experiment. Upon turning on the light, the number of fish in each section was counted 60 times every 30 seconds, and the gathering rate was obtained from the average number of fish in each section. The light intensity inducing maximum gathering rate was 298.56 lux (188.44-444.96 lux) at daytime and 298.56 lux (188.44-444.96 lux) at night. The variation of the gathering rate of fish in illumination time was increasing trend fluctuately and did not show any distinctive difference between day and night.

Various kinds of related parameters on hypertension such as anti-oxygen effect, ACE, weight of body, hwart and kidney, blood pressure, heartbeat rates, contents of aldosterone, catecholamine, change rates, of plasma constituents, uric acid, BUN, creatinine were determined to verify the effects on hypertension by Kamisamul-tang (KSMT). And the results are concluded as follows. KSMT did not show any cytotoxicity at the range of concentration (1-250 ${\mu}g/m{\ell}$) on the human fibroblast cell (hFCs). KSMT decreased the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and DPPH generation depending on the concentration. KSMT significantly inhibited angiotensin converting enzyme(ACE) activity depending on the concentration compared with control. KSMT maintained body weight of body, heat and kidney nearly normal group in hypertensive rat induced by DOCA-salt. KSMT significantly blood pressure and heart beat rate compared with control in hypertensive rat induced by DOCA-salt. KSMT significantly decreased aldosterone, dopamine, norepineph- rine, epinephrine compared with control in hypertensive rat induced by DOCA-salt. KSMT significantly decreased the level of potassium and cloride compared with control wheareas increased that of calcium significantly in hypertensive rat induced by DOCA-salt. KSMT significantly decreased the level of uric acid and BUN compared with control in hypertensive rat induced by DOCA-salt. It is verified experimentally tat Kamisamultang(KMST) which has been used broadly as a clinical therapeutics in oriental medicine is effective for anti-hypertension mechanism. And it could be applied to develope the reliable prescriptions for anti-hypertension in the future.
