Connectivity between water source and demand node can be served as a critical system performance indicator of the degree of water distribution network (WDN)' failure severity under abnormal conditions. Graph theory-based approaches have been widely applied to quantify the connectivity due to WDN's graph-like topological feature. However, most previous studies used undirected-unweighted graph theory which is not proper to WDN. In this study, the directed-weighted graph theory was applied for WDN connectivity analyses. We also proposed novel connectivity indicators, Source-to-Node Shortest Pathway (SNSP) and SNSP-Degree (SNSP-D) which is an inverse of the SNSP value, that does not require complicate hydraulic simulation of a WDN of interest. The proposed SNSP-D index was demonstrated in total 42 networks in J City, South Korea in which Pearson Correlation Coefficient (PCC) between the proposed SNSP-D and four other system performance indicators was computed: three resilience indexes and an energy efficiency metric. It was confirmed that a system representative value of the SNSP-D has strong correlation with all resilience and energy efficiency indexes (PCC = 0.87 on average). Especially, PCC was higher than 0.93 with modified resilience index (MRI) and energy efficiency indicator. In addition, a multiple linear regression analysis was performed to identify the system hydraulic characteristic factors that affect the correlation between SNSP-D and other system performance indicators. The proposed SNSP is expected to be served as a useful surrogate measure of resilience and/or energy efficiency indexes in practice.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of three sub-factors of family resilience on family strength as perceived by university students. The subjects were 409 university students in G area. This study investigated the perception level of family resilience and family strength, the difference in the family strength between the resilient group and non-resilient group and the effect of family resilience on family strength. The study results were as follows: First, the students' perceptions of family resilience and family strength were moderately high. Second, the students with positive perceptions of all three family resilience sub-factors (resilient group) also had a higher perceived family strength than the non-resilient group. Third, gender was found to have an influence on family strength, with the male students having a higher perceived family strength. All three sub-factors of family resilience were statistically significant and the belief system and organizational pattern had a strong influence on the family strength. In particular, the belief system was the most powerful factor affecting the family strength. The role clarity, family cohesion and family resource of the family organizational pattern were significant factors. Moreover, collaborative problem solving and open emotional communication also had a significant influence on family strength.

The purpose of this study is to develop a family resilience program for families of children with ADHD. For this purpose, a preliminary program was developed as a pre-program development stage and its effectiveness was evaluated. To develop a preliminary program, a prior study was reviewed before developing the program, which was carried out. The program was conducted after recruiting seven mothers of children diagnosed with ADHD. It was operated for a total of eight sessions, two times a week, for 120 minutes. A single system design was designed to assess the effectiveness of the developed Family Resilience program. Then, the Family Resilience goals of the individuals set by the research participants were measured. The results of the study showed a slight increase in scores for all participants in the program. By discussing the effects, limitations and suggestions of the developed preliminary program, we hope that a family resilience program for families of children with ADHD will be developed based on this preliminary program research.
The major factors that threaten port operation are diversie. Coronavirus disease-19, (COVID-19), which has recently disrupted operations worldwide, is one of them. Port operation was completely stopped due to a confirmed coronavirus involving a Russian sailor in Gamcheon Port, Busan, Korea in 2020, resulting port closure due to the infectious disease outbreak. The port is a national infrastructure facility that controls most of Korea's import and export logistics, and it is absolutely necessary to secure resilience against threats such as infectious diseases. However, due to insufficient data, this study was undertaken to determine a cause-effect relationship of infectious diseases during the container port operation using system dynamics. In addition, the port's resilience against infectious diseases was measured in terms of productivity and cargo volume through simulation. The model built via simulation analysis can actually be used to measure the resilience of a port. In the event of an infectious disease outbreak at a port, a quarantine policy scenario can be implemented and the effect compared, thereby improving the resilience.
The purpose of this study was to determine the associations among emotional burnout, resilience, job embeddedness, and organizational commitment, provide basic data for an effective dental care delivery system and manpower management, and promote organizational commitment in clinical dental hygienists. For data collection, convenience sampling was performed among dental hygienists working in Daejeon and Chungcheong and Jeolla Provinces from November 11 to December 30, 2019, and a self-administered questionnaire was used. Organizational commitment was positively correlated with resilience and job embeddedness and was negatively correlated with emotional burnout; emotional burnout was negatively correlated with resilience and job embeddedness; and resilience was positively correlated with job embeddedness. The factor most significantly affecting organizational commitment was emotional burnout, followed by resilience and job embeddedness. It is therefore necessary to give another consideration to a customized intervention strategy, which involves emotional burnout, resilience, and job embeddedness, in exploring a program that helps clinical dental hygienists maintain and manage organizational commitment efficiently.

The purpose of this study was to compare the dynamic behavior of STEDEF track that of the sleeper floating track on urban rapid transit according to replacing the resilience pads and analyze the necessity of replacing the resilience pads experimentally. It was analyzed that the uniformity of the track support stiffness could be secured by replacing the used resilience pads with new resilience pads. Therefore, by replacing the used resilience pads, the measured track impact factor was found to be dramatically reduced below the track design standard, and it was analyzed that the track support stiffness could be restored to the design value. As a results, it is possible to restore track support stiffness to the design value and reduce track impact factor by replacing timely resilience pads, which is important to securing durability and improving service life of track components.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of Family Resilience Reinforcement Program (FRRP) for family caregivers of the elderly with dementia on the family resilience, caregiver burden, family adaptation, perceived health status and depression. Methods: FRRP was implemented for 60 minutes each time, once a week, for 8 weeks. According to 3 factors of Walsh's Family resilience theory, FRRP was organized and specified as redefining 'belief system' in 1 to 2 sessions, figuring out one's own 'organizational pattern' in 3 to 5 sessions, enhancing 'communication process' in 6 to 8 sessions. A total of 46 family caregivers were assigned into either the experimental group with FRRP or the control group. Data were collected from February 18 to April 12, 2013 at the dementia support centers, and the data of 36 participants were finally analyzed. Results: The experimental group reported statistically significant differences in family resilience (p=.002), caregiver burden (p=.012), family adaptation (p<.001), and perceived health status (p=.002) compared to those in the control group. No significant difference was found between the two groups in depression. Conclusion: In the light of these results, FRRP is considered to decrease caregiver burden and to influence family resilience, family adaptation and perceived health status positively. The developed FRRP is considered to be an efficient nursing intervention for strengthening family resilience of the given population. It warrants future research expanding the range of target population to those caregivers of the patients with other chronic conditions.
