In recent years there has been a substantial increase in the use of functional foods for disease control. Fruits and vegetables produce phytochemicals such as flavonoids and antioxidants which can lower oxidative stress and reduce the risk of chronic ailments like cancer. The aim of the present study was to investigate the antioxidant capacity and the possible protective effects of Amaranthus paniculatus leaves on the antioxidant defense system in Ehrlich's ascites carcinoma (EAC)-treated mice. Oral administration of the leaf extract at different doses caused a significant decrease in tumor volume, viable cell count and tumor weight and elevated the life span of EAC bearing mice. It also showed an improved antioxidant potential as evidenced by a significant increase in the cellular antioxidant defense system such as catalase, superoxide dismutase and reduced glutathione and also significantly reduced the levels of TBARS. The levels of RBC, hemoglobin and lymphocyte count were altered in EAC bearing mice and were reverted back to near normal levels after the treatment with the leaf extracts. Their adequate content of total phenolics and flavonoids, DPPH scavenging activity which further suggests that the extracts exert a significant protection against oxidative stress conditions.
Innovation with strategic interaction is to overcome the technological uncertainty and to create co-evolution through competition among individuals or organizations for the acceleration of innovation. The concept of innovation in the past was concentrated on cooperation rather than on competition for the efficient management of limited resources. However, in order to minimize the technological uncertainty, we need an innovation on the basis of competition between organizations. Competition stimulates technological adaptability. It is on the analogy of complex system. This is to satisfy consumers' needs, to transform the resources into a technology, and to apply for the development of new products and new technologies. If the emergence of a new technology threatens present technology and develops into a new level of technology through inter-relation, it becomes a mutually supporting technologies. When theses effects are simultaneously realized, it is possible for firm to have strategical innovation and to create a mutually evolutionary development. Furthermore, when the competition among more than two individuals or two organizations continues towards the same direction, the mutual competition and cooperation can be expected to create a synergy effect. The competitive environment should be composed of R&D, production, and consumers' choice. This will lead to interaction among organizations through strategic competition and cooperation. Intra-firm competition and Inter-firm competition are required to exist together.
Generating an action plan and obtaining commitment to achieve it is desired in organizations, but not always achieved. Whatever the reason, there is a room for an improved approach to decision making, so that people can arrive at a common understanding of a problem and commitment to action. Those are the purposes of a Decision Conferencing(DC). A DC, one example of single workstation-based GDSSs, is a two-day session attended by a group of people who attempt to resolve important issues of concern to their organization with the help of group facilitation techniques and decision analytic computer modelling. The interchange of differing perspectives on the issues is encouraged by the facilitator who attends to group processes but does not contribute to the content of discussions. Decision analysis provides a variety of structures for modelling the differing perspectives. Information and value judgements are incorporated in these models, whose results usually reveal new, higher-level perspectives on the issues. Information technology is needed to combine the part of the model and to facilitate on-the-spot replay of results. The experimental case study in this paper shows that how a DC can help a Korea's trading company to develop new, corporate level resource allocation strategies which are based on improved consensus among competing participants.
Background: The non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase enzymes. Recent studies have shown that aspirin could be used as an anti-tumor drug. Triptolide, the major compound extracted from the Chinese herb Tripteryglum wilfordii Hook.f, has now been shown that it can inhibit tumor growth. The aim of this study was to analyze the anti-tumor efficiency of aspirin and triptolide in cervical cancer cells. Methods: Viability of cervical cancer cell lines was assessed by the MTT method at various concentrations of aspirin and triptolide. Siha and HeLa cell apoptotic analysis was performed by flow cytometry. Real time-PCR and Western Blotting were used to analyze the expression of Bcl-2/Bax, Cyclin D1 and p16. Results: Viability in the combination group was significantly decreased as compared with either drug used alone. Expression change of Bcl-2/Bax, CyclinD1 and p16 appeared to play an important role in the synergistic killing effect on cervical cancer cell apoptosis. Conclusion: Aspirin and triptolide combination treatment may have synergistic anti-tumor effects on cervical cancer cells.

A bipolar plate is an important component in a fuel cell in the sense of cost and weight. This study aimed at developing highly conductive, lightweight, and low cost bipolar plates. Hybrid carbons filled poly(phenylene sulfide)(PPS) composite bipolar plates were prepared by using the compression molding technique. Various types and amounts of conducting carbon fillers such as graphite, carbon black, carbon fibers, and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were adopted for the composites. Electrical conductivity and mechanical properties of the composites were measured in order to investigate effects of each components of fillers. When the graphite is only used as a conducting filler, the electrical conductivity of the composites increases with increasing the content, but the flexural strength decreases dramatically. However, for CNTs and carbon fibers, the flexural strength initially increases and then decreases with increasing the amount of the conducting fillers. The amount of graphite corresponding to the peak of flexural strength was moved to lower content with increasing the amount of CNTs or carbon fiber. When hybrid conducting fillers such as fibrous and particulate fillers were used, the synergy effect in mechanical and electrical properties was observed.

The frictional properties of nylon can be improved by the impregnation of lubricants like wax, oil or graphite. The inclusion of these lubricants, on the other hand, decreases the mechanical properties of nylon, such as tensile strength, hardness and impact strength. As an attempt to maximize frictional properties, while minimizing a decrease in the mechanical properties, various kinds of nylon containing 3 wt% wax and varying contents of oil or graphite were prepared. It was found that the synergy effects to improve both friction and anti-wear properties is evidenced by impregnating a combination of wax/oil or wax/graphite. The wear rate of a nylon containing 3 wt% of wax and 1.5 wt% of oil turned out to be 1/4 of that of nylon impregnated with 8 wt% wax or 8 wt% oil. The latter showed the lowest wear rate among the nylons prepared with a single lubricant. In addition, the friction coefficient of the developed nylon was found to be very similar to the nylon with 8 wt% wax only.
The purpose of this study is to get a politic advanced idea to operate a pro-environment based u-city through the overcome problems on the construction policy for the even areal distribution, and the development for the model structure of the high level. Advanced pro-environmental ubiquitous urban construction becomes an example of the practical level linked by the national agenda as uKorea policy. The Idea of the national land informal ion systems transforms to enhance or to guide the national strategic industry to implement balanced development as grand objectives of the national land due to the factor that 'the economic development 5 years plan' altered to 'the national land 5 years plan'. Therefore, ubiquitous echo city construct ion becomes realized as static spatial informal ion construct ion and dynamic mobile based ubiquitous lives operable by the information infrastructure and IT839 policy items operation. For the synergy effects through this task, it requires a strong empowerment of the information industries and a new growing core engine of the national economy through the policy of the mutual satisfaction on the spat io-temporal information and the pro-environment information systems.

This study intends to define $\ulcorner$personality$\lrcorner$ as $\ulcorner$Human-ware$\lrcorner$ based on $\ulcorner$Gene-ware$\lrcorner$ in business management. The sides of personality in management are important source of manifestation of ‘Synergy’, because the importance of personality, that is, $\ulcorner$attitude$\lrcorner$ in individuals is increasing compared with the traditional techniques, $\ulcorner$craft$\lrcorner$. In this work it is considered that Human-ware activates interchange in reciprocal relation between Gene-ware and Hard-ware and performs balancing, intermediating (catalyzing) functions in relative that things(Geneware $\leftrightarrow$ Humanware $\leftrightarrow$ Hardware). $\ulcorner$Gene-ware$\lrcorner$ represents factor and phenomena of life in evolutionary information as human instincts, system of Gene-duum(Gene+Residuum(in phenomenology) ), Synchronization(in structuralism). In this view, this paper defines the concepts and effects of personality in management as the results of creative and stational functions of Human-ware. And this paper intends to identify the strata of psycho in human as three vertical aspects of $\ulcorner$Manifest$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Latent$\lrcorner$, and $\ulcorner$Found$\lrcorner$, in this respects, function of Human-ware have analogy to that of Manifest in psychological behaviors. Finally, reviewing the Ford system based on Fordism and Taylor's system in Industrial Engineering, pursues the meaning and importance of personality, that is Humanware in management.
Dual-frequency ultrasound assisted photocatalysis (DUAP) method was proposed to degrade a stable organic model effluent, cresol red (CR), using the prepared $Fe^{3+}$-doped $TiO_2$ with active carbon fiber loading ($Fe^{3+}-TiO_2/ACF$) as photocatalyst. The influence of key factors, including Fe doping amount and power density of dual-frequency ultrasounds (20/40 kHz), on the degradation efficiency was investigated. The degradation efficiency rises to 98.7% in 60 min accompanied by the color removal of CR liquid samples from yellow to colorless transparent at optimal conditions. A synergy index of 1.40 was yielded by comparison with single ultrasound assisted photocatalysis (SUAP) and the photocatalysis without ultrasound assisted (UV/$TiO_2$), indicating that a clear synergistic effect exists for the DUAP process. Obvious enhancement of degradation efficiency for the DUAP process should be attributed to production of large amount of free radicals by strong cavitational effects of dual ultrasounds.
