  • One of the most important point in the Internet crime investigation is tracing back and pointing out a criminal host. However, criminals can forge a crime record stored in the crime host, or can utilize malicious applications in order not to leave a crime record. In addition, criminals can change the source IP address of a crime host and deny their involvement. In this study, we suggests the Network Forensic Evidence Generation and Verification Scheme (NFEGVS) to rectify the current limitation of Network Forensic technologies. This scheme can prove who and when the crime has occurred. In addition, this prevents leaking of symmetric key for guaranteeing certification and integrity of Forensic Evidence by proposing the Timestamp Secret Key Distribution Scheme, and minimizes performance degradation of router when generating forensic evidence with the Flow-Based Selection Scheme. In this paper, we implement the proposed scheme and evaluate overall performance of the proposed system.

  • Security in WPAN is one of the most fundamental issues to overcome the barrier of wireless environment. Although piconet security mechanisms have been defined in the WPAN standards, many remains open and are left for implementation. Koinonia is a high-rate Wireless Personal Area Network (WPAN) technology, and is developed for multimedia traffic transmission in personal area. In Koinonia WPAN, a piconet consists of one master and more than one slave, and piconet security mechanisms is not defined at all. Therefore, we propose a robust piconet security mechanism for secure communications between slaves in a piconet. Based on security requirements analysis, our proposed protocols are shown to meet the security needs for Koinonia high-rate WPAN.

  • Internet banking is one of many services provided by financial institutions that have become very popular with an increasing trend. Due to the increased amount of usage of the service, Internet banking has become a target from adversaries. One of the points that are at risk of an attack is the login process. Therefore, it is necessary to have a security mechanism that can reduce this risk. This research designs and develops a multi-factor authentication protocol, starting from a registration system, which generates authentication factors, to an actual authentication mechanism. These factors can be categorised into two groups: short term and long term. For the authentication protocol, only three messages need to be exchanged between a client and a financial institution's server. Many cryptographic processes are incorporated into the protocol, such as symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, a symmetric key generation process, a method for generating and verifying digital signatures. All of the authentication messages have been proved and analysed by the logic of GNY and the criteria of OWASP-AT-009. Even though there are additional factors of authentication, users do not really feel any extra load on their part, as shown by the satisfactory survey.

  • In this paper, we propose the secure key management framework to connect USN with different network. Although connected USN with different network has no CA (Certificate Authority), it is important to use public key based cryptography system because this network consists of numerous devices. The proposed mechanisms focus on device authentication and public/private key management without existing PKI system of IP network. To solve no CA and certificate problems, the IDC (Identity Based Cryptography) concept is adopted in our proposed mechanism. To verify the possibility of realization, we make an effort to implement the proposed mechanisms to real system. In the test bed, both USN and PLC network are connected to IP network; and proposed mechanisms are implemented to PLC and sensor devices. Through this test using the proposed mechanism, we met the similar performance with symmetric algorithms on key generation and update process. Also, we confirmed possibility of connection between different network and device authentication.

  • Camellia was jointly developed by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation in 2000. Camellia specifies the 128-bit message block size and 128-, 192-, and 256-bit key sizes. In this paper, a modified round operation block which unifies a register setting for key schedule and a conventional round operation block is proposed. 16 ROMs needed for key generation and round operation are implemented using only 4 dual-port ROMs. Due to the use of a message buffer, encryption/decryption can be executed without a waiting time immediately after KA and KB are calculated. The suggested block cipher Camellia algorithm is designed using Verilog-HDL, implemented on Virtex4 device and operates at 184.898MHz. The designed cryptographic core has a maximum throughput of 1.183Gbps in 128-bit key mode and that of 876.5Mbps in 192 and 256-bit key modes. The cryptographic core of this paper is applicable to security module of the areas such as smart card, internet banking, e-commerce and satellite broadcasting.

  • For wind engineering applications downbursts are, presently, almost exclusively modeled, both experimentally and numerically, as transient impinging momentum jets (IJ), even though that model contains none of the physics of real events. As a result, there is no connection between the IJ-simulated downburst wind fields and the conditions of formation of the event. The cooling source (CS) model offers a significant improvement since it incorporates the negative buoyancy forcing and baroclinic vorticity generation that occurs in nature. The present work aims at using large-scale numerical simulation of downburst-producing thunderstorms to develop a simpler model that replicates some of the key physics whilst maintaining the relative simplicity of the IJ model. Using an example of such a simulated event it is found that the non-linear scaling of the velocity field, based on the peak potential temperature (and, hence, density) perturbation forcing immediately beneath the storm cloud, produces results for the radial location of the peak radial outflow wind speeds near the ground, the magnitude of that peak and the time at which the peak occurs that match well (typically within 5%) of those produced from a simple axi-symmetric constant-density dense source simulation. The evolution of the downdraft column within the simulated thunderstorm is significantly more complex than in any axi-symmetric model, with a sequence of downdraft winds that strengthen then weaken within a much longer period (>17 minutes) of consistently downwards winds over almost all heights up to at least 2,500 m.

  • In order to combat the security threats that sensor networks are exposed to, a cryptography protocol is implemented at sensor nodes for point-to-point encryption between nodes. Given that nodes have limited resources, symmetric cryptography that is proven to be efficient for low power devices is implemented. Data protection is integrated into a sensor's packet by the means of symmetric encryption with the Dragon stream cipher and incorporating the newly designed Dragon-MAC Message Authentication Code. The proposed algorithm was designed to employ some of the data already computed by the underlying Dragon stream cipher for the purpose of minimizing the computational cost of the operations required by the MAC algorithm. In view that Dragon is a word based stream cipher with a fast key stream generation, it is very suitable for a constrained environment. Our protocol regarded the entity authentication and message authentication through the implementation of authenticated encryption scheme in wireless sensor nodes.

  • Silicon heterojunction technology (HJT) solar cells have received considerable attention due to advantages that include high efficiency over 26%, good performance in the real world environment, and easy application to bifacial power generation using symmetric device structure. Furthermore, ultra-highly efficient perovskite/c-Si tandem devices using the HJT bottom cells have been reported. In this paper, we discuss the unique feature of the HJT solar cells, the fabrication processes and the current status of technology development. We also investigate practical challenges and key technologies of the HJT solar cell manufacturers for reducing fabrication cost and increasing productivity.

  • Recently, cyberattacks on infrastructure have been continuously occurring with the starting of neutralizing the user authentication function of information systems. Accordingly, the vulnerabilities of system are increasing day by day, such as the increase in the vulnerabilities of the encryption system. In this paper, an alternative technique for the symmetric key algorithm has been developed in order to build the encryption algorithm that is not easy for beginners to understand and apply. Vigenere Cipher is a method of encrypting alphabetic text and it uses a simple form of polyalphabetic substitution. The encryption application system proposed in this study uses the simple form of polyalphabetic substitution method to present an application model that integrates the three steps of encryption table creation, encryption and decryption as a framework. The encryption of the original text is done using the Vigenère square or Vigenère table. When applying to the automatic generation of secret keys on the information system this model is expected that integrated authentication work, and analysis will be possible on target system. ubstitution alphabets[3].
