In this paper a design of educational robot based on a PC and/or a microprocessor is discussed. The educational robot has 5 DOF and Is made with Swiss Mini Servomotor and Motor Controller IC LM629N. Also, a GUI(Graphical User Interface) is programmed by Visual Basic. This system is completed to consider control properties of the educational robot with 5-DOF that can be changed the parameter of controller by software.

본 연구의 목적은 바젤 스타일에 대한 역사적인 고찰을 통해 20세기 모던 타이포그래피의 전개과정과 그 현재적인 의미를 파악하고자 하는 것이다. 제1장에서는 20세기 초 모던 타이포그래피와 스위스 스타일이 형성되는 배경을 살펴보았고, 제2장에서는 바젤 타이포그래픽 전통이 형성되고 또 극복되어 가는 과정을 고찰하였다. 제3장에서는 바젤 스타일의 현재적 의미를 살펴보고 이 스타일이 디지털 시대의 시각언어와 조형문법을 형성하는데 어떠한 영향을 미쳤는지 살펴보았다. 이러한 연구를 통해 본 연구자가 고찰하고자 한 것은 그래픽 디자인의 역사가 단지 탁월한 능력과 감각을 지닌 몇 몇 디자인 거장들에 의해 이끌어지거나 사회, 문화적인 맥락과는 상관없이 일시적으로 등장했다가 사라지는 화려한 디자인 스타일들로 이루어지는 것이 아니라 나름대로의 내적인 동력을 가지고 역사적인 진보의 방향에 따라 전개되어온 전문 분야의 역사임을 보여주고자 하는 것이었다.

In the 1970s, the term Post - Modernism came into use to lable work of graphic design who broke up the Swiss style that had defined clarity and order. The characteristics of Post - Modernism graphic design include pluralistic and eclectic style. Those innovation of graphic design concerned with our social, political. cultural, and econonic changes. Deconstruction is one of the theory of Post-structualism. Deconstruction refers to the breaking down of metaphysics, rationalism, totality and so on. Deconstructive graphic design destroys traditional harmony even more than Marinetti's claim. Totality in graphic design seems to be ignored. Post - Modernism in architecture appears as historical revivalism and pluralism. The eclectic revivals and eccentric reinventions in graphic design are far too pluralistic and diverse to fit such as a simplistic system of style. Another innovation in graphic design occurs by electronic revolution. The impact of computer upon graphic design is becoming even more pronounced. Most importantly, Post-Modernism can consider the rediscovered freedom in graphic design. Graphic design is undergoing profound changes. But the essence of graphic design as com$$\mu$ication tools will remain unchanged.

A versatile micro-robotic platform for micro/nano scale assembly has been demanded in a variety of application areas such as micro-biology and nanotechnology. In the near future, a flexible and compact platform could be effectively used in a scanning electron microscope chamber. We are developing a platform that consists of miniature mobile robots and a compact positioning stage with multi degree-of-freedom. This paper presents the design and the implementation of a low-cost and compact multi degree of freedom position sensor that is capable of measuring absolute translational and rotational displacement. The proposed sensor is implemented by using a CMOS type image sensor and a target with specific hole patterns. Experimental design based on statistics was applied to finding optimal design of the target. Efficient algorithms for image processing and absolute position decoding are discussed. Simple calibration to eliminate the influence of inaccuracy of the fabricated target on the measuring performance also presented. The developed sensor was characterized by using a laser interferometer. It can be concluded that the sensor system has submicron resolution and accuracy of ${\pm}4{\mu}m$ over full travel range. The proposed vision-based sensor is cost-effective and used as a compact feedback device for implementation of a micro robotic platform.

이질적인 생물 데이터베이스의 통합은 데이터간의 연계 분석의 필요성이 높아짐에 따라 중요한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 그러나 이러한 데이터베이스들은 초기에 이질적 환경에서 각기 다른 목적에 의해 생성되므로 포맷, 설계자가 불일치하는 등 여러 가지 문제점으로 인해 통합하는데 어려움이 따른다. 그러므로 이질적인 데이터베이스의 통합을 위해서는 초기단계의 설계가 무엇보다도 중요하다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 핵산 데이터베이스인 Genbank와 단백질 데이터베이스인 Swiss-Prot을 통합하기 위해 ER 모델을 사용하여 개념적 모델을 보인 후, 이를 합병하여 통합모델을 제시한다. 또한, 핵산-단백질 자료로 연계되는 정보를 통합 서비스할 수 있는 시스템 구조를 제안한다. 제안된 바이오 게이트웨이 시스템은 개념적 설계 단계에서 가장 원자적인 단위로 분할하여 모델링 함으로써 정교한 질의 처리가 가능하고, 사용자가 상세 조건을 알고 있을 경우에 기존의 검색시스템과 달리 여러 번의 검색 과정을 거치지 않고, 단시간에 원하는 결과를 얻을 수 있다는 장점을 지닌다.

현대의 그래픽 디자인은 컴퓨터와 전자기술의 발달로 다양하고 첨단적인 이미지들의 스타일로 기존의 그래픽 디자인의 세계를 변화시키며 새로운 그래픽 디자인의 영역을 만들어가고 있다. 하지만 오늘날 그래픽 디자인 스타일의 기본 원리나 이미지들은 지난 20C초부터 중반까지 그래픽 디자인 사조들의 시각적 특징들이 반영된 각종 창작물들에 의해 다듬어지고 변화되어진 시각적 원리나 방법들의 영향을 받아 온 것이 사실이다. 일반적으로 모던 그래픽 디자인이라 부르고 있는 이 시기의 그래픽 디자인 스타일들은 20C 디자인의 시작이 되는 아르누보 이후 회화적 모더니즘, 구성주위, 신조형 주의, 바우하우스를 거치며 현대 그래픽 디자인의 기본적인 원리와 스타일을 형성하게 되는 스위스 그래픽 디자인 양식에서, 그리고 뉴욕파 그래픽 디자인에 이르러 전 세계로 퍼져가게 된다. 본 연구에서는 21C 급속한 그래픽 디자인의 표현 기술 발달과 다양한 그래픽 디자인 환경 속에서 현대 그래픽 디자인 원리의 바탕이 되는 20C 초반부터 중반까지 그래픽 디자인의 시각적 특징과 흐름의 조망을 통해 좀더 그래픽 디자인에 대한 체계적이고 근본적인 인식의 확보와 그래픽디자인의 시각적 특징을 이해하고 새로운 그래픽 스타일을 생산해 내는 하나의 연구 과정으로 삼고자 한다.

1970년대 후반에 소개된 디지틀 기술과 함께 우리 인류는 지금 산업화 시대로부터 '정보화 시대'로 이동해가고 있다. 새로운 커뮤니케이션 시스템은 기존의 현실 인식 체계를 바꾸어 놓을 만금 놀라운 것이다. 한국은 고유한 문자와 언어를 지니고 있는 민족이다. 그러나 타이포그라피 분야는 우리만의 고유한 규범을 제대로 갖지 못하고 있으며 국제적인 보편성도 확보하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 현대 한국의 타이포그라피는 커뮤니케이션의 기본인 합리적이고 효율적인 체계를 지니지 못한 채 복잡하고 장식적이며 혼란스러운 양상을 자주 드러내고 있다. 심지어 젊은 디자이너를 중심으로 서구 스타일을 무분별하게 모방하고 있다. 이제 우리는 우리의 고유한 철학을 확립해야 할 때이다. 다양하게 변해 가는 정보화 사회 속에서 어떻게 한국적인 고유성을 확보할 것인가? 어떻게 보편적인 국제성을 지니고 세계 문화에 기여 할 것인가를 연구해야 한다. 이 연구에서는 한국적인 고유성을 갖는 철학의 바탕을 우리 전통 문화에서 찾고자 한다. 또한 한국 현대 타이포그라피에 적합한 통합의 방법을 모색하고자 스위스 모더니즘의 철학을 연구해 보고자 한다. 스위스 타이포그라피는 그 간결함과 단순함의 미학을 특징으로 했다는 점에서 한국 전통의 미의식과 유사한 점이 많다 이에 본 연구는 이 두 방향간의 공통적인 철학을 토대로 우리에게 적합한 새로운 한국적 타이포그라피의 규범을 확립해 보았다. 첫째, 가독성을 우선시하는 디자인 양식의 개발. 둘째 , 내용의 핵심을 담아낼 수 있는 디자인 셋째, 객관적이고 합리적인 디자인 태도의 견지 마지막으로 전통에 대한 관심과 애정을 지닌 정신적인 자세를 가져야 한다는 점이다. 지금 우리는 세계적인 조류를 무비판적으로 따르기보다 우리 한글에 맞는 적절한 규범을 갖는 것이 더 중요한 시점이다. 우리 전통의 미의식에 대한 연구가 우리에게 '좋은 디자인'의 해답을 줄 것이다. 그와 동시에 객관적이고 간결한 양식인 스위스 디자인에 대한 탐구가 세계적인 보편성을 확보해 줄 것이다.

The prototype test train(HSR 350X) was developed and is now being tested in R＆D project for developing Korean High Speed Rolling Stock. International cooperative works with German, Japanese, Danish English and Swiss company were done for reviewing the results made by domestic companies and enhancing their design capability. The main results of cooperation are shown in this paper. In addition, some problems and comments issued during cooperation are also represented.

The diagrid structural system for constructing tall buildings is a recent invention. Debuting in 2004 with the construction of the Swiss Re Tower in London, this aesthetically driven structural system has centered the perfecting of its technology on the development of the nodes that form its innovative deviation from standard steel tall framing methods. The paper examines variations in node design, understanding the linked dependence the modularity and the choice to expose the steel in the building, as well as on advances in digital modelling that allow an increasingly seamless line of communication from the engineering design through to the actual fabrication of the nodes. This advanced design and fabrication technology will be seen to have resulted in the expanded use of the technical term "node" to inform the design and construction of a range of other applications in the structuring of tall buildings, including the use of steel castings.

This study aims to find out the way of revitalizing of natural riverfront space in terms of ecological aspect. At the first part, theoretical made in terms of concept, planning aspects and techniques which were main bases for the study. It begins by explaining the concept of ecological riverfront space, the main aspect and techniques of its planning. After this, it analysis eight cases(four cases in Korea, Swiss, Germany, America and Japan) in terms of the objects, planning techniques and the results of development. It continues by making detailed analysis according to four objectives like 'protection from flood', 'quality of the river', 'ecological preservation' and 'active usage of riverfront space'. It ends by evaluating the relationship between objectives and the planning which will be adapted to the future development of riverfront space with ecological aspect. In conclusion, hereafter will propose desirable design-direction for revitalization about riverfront space about ecological aspect design in urban.
