  • Overlay Multicast is an effective method for optimal utilization of system resources and network bandwidth without a need for hardware customization. It is an effective method of providing Personal Internet Broadcasting Service for better Quality of Service to many users. In this paper, we propose a multicast tree that uses Local Swap method. In order to prove the effectiveness of the new technique suggested here, using the proposed method and personal internet broadcasting service, information is abstracted, compared and analyzed under various overlay multicast algorithm conditions. We have proved that the suggested local swap technique is more effective by comparing it with other existing techniques in various methods such as using various overlay based multicast algorithm simulation.

  • In this paper we propose a fast booting technique based on Improved snapshot boot in embedded Linux, widely adopted in personal devices such as PDA and mobile phones. The existing Snapshot boot technique tries to create a snapshot image at the time of suspend, and later load the entire snapshot image into the system memory at the predefined location with the help of a bootloader at the time of resume. Since a bootloader has to copy the entire snapshot image into the predefined memory to resume the previous suspended computing state, a little bit long time is required to resume. Improved snapshot boot does not create a snapshot image consisting of whole memory pages at the time of suspend, thus resulting in smaller snapshot image than the existing snapshot boot. The remaining pages are in the swap area. The resulting smaller sized snapshot image enables much faster booting latency. Through the experiment, we can see the booting latency is reduced almost 30% with suspend image of 2982 pages. This result depends on the amount of swap-out pages.

  • This paper suggests assignment-swap algorithm with time complexity O(mn) to obtain the optimal solution for large-scale of transportation problem (TP) with incomplete cost lists. Generally, the TP with complete cost lists can be solved with TSM (Transportation Simplex Method). But, we can't be solved for large-scale of TP with TSM. Especially. It is hard to solve for large-scale TP with incomplete cost lists using TSM. Therefore, experts simply using commercial linear programming package. Firstly, the proposed algorithm applies assignment strategy of transportation quantity to ascending order of transportation cost. Then, we reassign from surplus of supply to shortage of demand. Secondly, we perform the 2-opt and 1-opt swap optimization to obtain the optimal solution. Upon application to $31{\times}15$ incomplete cost matrix problem, the proposed assignment-swap algorithm more improves the solution than LINGO of commercial linear programming.

  • This paper presents an optimized adoption of NVM for the storage system of heterogeneous applications. Our analysis shows that a bulk of I/O does not happen on a single storage partition, but it is varied significantly for different application categories. In particular, journaling I/O accounts for a dominant portion of total I/O in DB applications like OLTP, whereas swap I/O accounts for a large portion of I/O in graph visualization applications, and file I/O accounts for a large portion in web browsers and multimedia players. Based on these observations, we argue that maximizing the performance gain with NVM is not obtained by fixing it as a specific storage partition but varied widely for different applications. Specifically, for graph visualization, DB, and multimedia player applications, using NVM as a swap, a journal, and a file system partitions, respectively, performs well. Our optimized adoption of NVM improves the storage performance by 10-61%.

  • The importance of load-to-use latency has been highlighted as state-of-the-art computing cores adopt deep pipelines and high clock frequencies. The cascaded cache was recently proposed to reduce the access cycle of the L1 cache by utilizing differences in latencies among banks of the cache structure. However, this study assumes the cache is comprised of SRAM, making it unsuitable for direct application to non-volatile memory-based systems. This paper proposes a novel mechanism and structure for lowering dynamic energy consumption. It inserts monitoring logic to keep track of swap operations and write counts. If the ratio of swap operations to total write counts surpasses a set threshold, the cache controller skips the swap of cache blocks, which leads to reducing write operations. To validate this approach, experiments are conducted on the non-volatile memory-based cascaded cache. The results show a reduction in write operations by an average of 16.7% with a negligible increase in latencies.

  • This papers deals with feasibility study of wireless motion control. Wireless telecommunication advances with development of IT technology and extends more and more areas. So we selected Bluetooth out of the technologies(Bluetooth, SWAP(SharedWireless Access Protocol), IrDA(Infra Red Data Association), WLAN(Wireless Local Area Network)) which was developed for local data communication and set up simple experimental system for wireless data transfer and server and client program for wireless data transfer was wrote. We successfully transferred some data wirelessly with this program.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the risk premium hedge ratio in foreign exchange risk of the foreign exchange rate insurance. The applicants of exchange rate insurance and Korea Export Insurance Corporation will be facing the risk in change of currency and guaranteed currency’s swap point upon contract being made. Also upon making decision of hedging exchange rate insurance, the company will need to be aware of the risk causing due to change in swap point.

  • Energy Storage System(ESS) is a system that maximizes energy efficiency by selectively storing and using the generated power when needed. Therefore, energy must be able to be charged or supplied at any time, and non-operating time should be minimized even in the case of failure or maintenance. However, current large-capacity energy storage systems must be shut down during maintenance due to structural problems. In this paper, we propose a PCS for 1MW ESS by configuring modular for large capacity ESS in parallel and verified of the hot swap technology that can replace, change, and repair the components that make up the system while keeping the system operating.
