Worldwide national intervention of developmental screening programs in infant and early childhood

  • The prevalence of developmental disabilities is increasing worldwide over time. Developmental issues in infancy or early childhood may cause learning difficulties or behavioral problem in school age, further adversely affecting adolescent quality of life, which finally lead to low socioeconomic status in family, increase in medical expenses, and other relevant issues in various ways. Early childhood has brain plasticity, which means there is a high chance of recovering from developmental issues by early detection and timely intervention. Pediatricians are placed an ideal position to meet with young children till 6 years of age, of which age range is the time applicable to early intervention. Determining child's developmental status can be made by 2 pathways such as developmental surveillance and developmental screening tests. For better results, pediatricians should update their knowledge about developmental issues, risk factors, and screening techniques through varying educational program or other relevant educating materials. This paper will update reports on the prevalence of developmental disabilities and review the recent results of the Korean developmental screening test and discuss relevant issues. Finally, it will be addressed the pediatrician's role in early detecting developmental issues and timely intervention.

전방위 감시와 영상추적이 가능한 화재감시시스템에 관한 연구 (The Study on the Fire Monitoring Dystem for Full-scale Surveillance and Video Tracking)

  • 전방위 감시카메라에는 어안렌즈를 이용하여 광대역감시가 가능하도록 물체감지알고리즘으로 물체를 단위별 레벨링한 다음 전방위 감시카메라와 추적(PTZ)카메라로 구성된 시스템으로 연동하여 현장실험한 것이다. 전방위 감시카메라가 움직이는 물체를 정확히 감지하며 사각표시를 하였고 추적카메라와 유기적으로 연동하며 확대 추적하였다. 감지카메라와 화염감지 및 온도에 대한 현장실험에서는 오토스캔 중 화염이 감지되면 멈추며, 해당 화점부분을 화면의 중심부분으로 이동시켜 온도가 표출되었다. 또한 화염이격거리별 검지에 필요한 발열량의 인정기준인 1 km 2,340 kcal를 초과한 1.5 km에서도 가능하였다. 거리에 따른 화염감지성능시험에서는 거리 1 km일 때 폭 56 cm ${\times}$ 높이 90 cm를 초과한 1.5 km에서도 가능하여 산불화재에도 적응성이 충분하였다. 향후 석유 가스비축시설 및 저유소에 설치하면 자체는 물론 주위 화재예방 및 침입감시 등의 안전에 매우 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

  • 운전중인 원자로 재료의 건전성 평가를 위한 기계적 시험의 하나인 샤르피 충격 시험편에 대하여 초음파 신호분석이 이루어졌나 시험편으로는 모재와 용접재를 사용하였는데 이들 재료는 고온, 고압의 냉각수 및 지속적인 고속중성자가 방출되고 있는 가동중인 발전소에서 감시시험을 통한 원자로재료의 건전성평가를 목적으로 정지기간동안 인출된 깃이다. 분석결과 속도 및 감쇠와 같은 초음파 특성들이 재질이 비교적 균일한 모재에 있어서는 중성자 조사량과 밀접한 관련이 있는 것으로 보였으며 이를 활용하여 비파괴적인 방법으로 재료에 대한 중성자 조사량이 어느 정도인지를 예측할 수 있는 가능성을 보여주었다.

감시 영상에서 움직임 정보 분석을 통한 폭력행위 검출 (Violent Behavior Detection using Motion Analysis in Surveillance Video)

  • 최근 범죄 예방을 위해 폭력행위 검출에 대한 영상 분석 기술에 대한 요구가 증가되고 있다. 영상을 이용한 행동 인식 기술을 많은 연구되고 있지만, 폭력행위에 대한 검출 기술은 상대적으로 텔레비전 또는 영화의 폭력장면 검출에만 초점이 맞추어져 있다. 영화에서 촬영 된 폭력 장면에는 주로 피를 흘리는 모습들이 자주 등장하기 때문에 움직임 정보와 색상 정보를 함께 사용하는 방법을 많이 사용하였다. 하지만 실제 CCTV에서 촬영된 폭력행위의 경우 피가 묻은 장면은 자주 발생하지 않기 때문에 색상 정보를 이용한 폭력행위 검출에는 한계점이 존재한다. 본 논문에서는 영상에서의 움직임 벡터를 이용하여 감시영상에서의 폭력 행동을 검출하는 알고리즘을 제안하고자 한다. 제안하는 방법은 공개 데이터인 USI 데이터와 실제 폭력 행위가 발생한 YouTube 데이터를 사용하여 검출결과를 나타내었다.

국내 돼지오제스키병의 혈청학적 감시활동(surveillance)을 위한 표본크기 (Sample size for serological surveillance of Aujeszky's disease in Korea)

  • Serological surveillance programs in animal populations are becoming increasingly important to estimate prevalence of a specific disease and subsequently to document disease-free status in a region or a country. For these purposes, the programs need to be based on both theoretical and economical aspects from the designing phase. From Aujeszky's disease (AD)-eradication program point of view, group of animals (aggregates, herds) not individual animal is the more important sampling unit of concern. In this study the authors therefore attempted to compute an appropriate sample size tailored to a current surveillance program against AD, assuming that the goal of this program is either herd-level prevalence estimation or documentation of AD-freedom. For prevalence estimation, assuming a finite population with imperfect sensitivity (Se) and specificity (Sp) of ELISA kit for AD diagnosis, the number of herds present, expected herd prevalence, and desired accuracy for a certain level of confidence, sample size was estimated at herd-level in the first stage and individual animal-level in the second stage. A two-stage sampling design was used to calculate a sample size to indicate AD-freedom. In this instance, the computation was based on the possible detection of a predetermined prevalence at a certain herd-level Se and Sp. This study indicated that the sample size varied with predetermined confidence, tolerance, Se and Sp at herd- and animal-level, and within- and among-herd prevalence. In general, smaller sample size was required to estimate AD prevalence than to document of AD-freedom. Compared to individual-based samples, two-stage sampling strategy requires a larger sample size to show disease-freedom. Statistical considerations including herd-level test characteristics when designing surveillance program also are further discussed.

손상감시체계를 통한 천안지역 초․중․고교생의 손상실태 분석 (Students injuries and Injury Surveillance System in Cheonan)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to explore the students injuries by analyzing the data which has been inputted by the emergency center of the cooperated hospitals and the 119 rescue party through the injury surveillance system in Cheonan city. Method : Students were divided into the elementary, middle, high school students with the 776 cases of children and teenagers(7-19years old) of injury surveillance system in Cheonan area from january to june in 2009. Frequency analysis and $x^2$-test was done to recognize the features of students injuries among the groups. The program to be used for the statistical analysis is SPSS 17.0. Result : Out of the injury incidence rate, the elementary school students(52.1%) are first, the high school students (24.9%) are second, the middle school students appear to be 23.1%. Male is about two times higher than female by 66.6% in the injury incidence. In terms of the injury mechanism, the injury(22.2%) by hit is the first, the traffic accident(21.5%) is the second, the slippery(16.8%) is followed. The injuries were occurred most largely at 16:00-20:00(33.4%), and the 33.6% of injury by daily leisure activity occurs at 16:00-20:00 chiefly. Conclusion : Analysis using the data of the injury surveillance system has some advantages compared to the previous research such as reliability and specification. To prevent the students injuries, not the individual problem but the social dimension should be acknowledged so that we can secure and promote the safety from the risk. Therefore, we must organize the role assignment and the cooperative network in the school, home and community.

정비프로그램 평가 및 해외사례 분석을 통한 비상디젤엔진의 신뢰성 향상방안 (The Proposal for Reliability Improvement of Emergency Diesel Engines through the Evaluation of the Maintenance Program and Overseas Cases for their Applications)

  • The failure frequency of the Emergency Diesel Generator(EDG) at Nuclear Power Plants(NPPs) is not so much lower than that of the Marine engines, whereas the running hours of the diesel engine at NPPs is much less than those of the engines for commercial service. The primary factor results from the severe surveillance test requirements such as fast start, large number of starting test, fast load-run, high load running, etc. The other factor comes from the excessive maintenance based on the engine maker's instruction manual that did not incorporate the peculiar characteristics of the diesel engines at NPPs. In this paper, the present preventive maintenance program on the basis of the Pielstick diesel engines was reviewed for the purpose of securing the reliability of the emergency diesel generator at NPPs and the ways for its improvement were presented by referring to the overseas cases for their applications.

스페이서 가터 스프링 코일 X-750 소재 정밀 조직 분석 방법 (Microstructure characterization technique of spacer garter spring coil X-750 material)

  • In the periodic surveillance material test for the spacer component of fuel channel assembly in CANDU, a microstructural characterization analysis is required in addition to the mechanical property evaluation test. In this study, detailed microstructure analysis and simple mechanical property evaluation of archive spacer parts were conducted to indirectly support the surveillance test and assist in the study of spacer material degradation. We investigated the microstructural characteristics of the spacer garter spring coil through comparative analysis with the plate material. The main microstructure characteristics of the garter spring coil X-750 are represented by the fine grain size distribution, the ordering phase distribution developed inside the matrix, the high dislocation density inside the grains, and the arrangement of coarse carbides. In addition, the yield strength of the garter spring coil X-750 was indirectly evaluated to be approximately 1 GPa. We also established an analytical method to elucidate the microstructural evolution of the radioactive spacer garter spring coil X-750 based on Canadian research experiences. Finally, we confirmed the measurement technique for helium bubble formation through TEM examination on the helium implanted X-750 material.

위성 영상감시 센서망을 위한 스마트 비젼 센서 (Smart Vision Sensor for Satellite Video Surveillance Sensor Network)

  • 본 논문은 위성통신 기반의 위성 영상감시 센서 네트워크 적용을 위한 스마트 비젼 센서에 대해 기술한다. 스마트 비젼센서 단말은 현장에서 산불, 연기, 침입자 움직임 등의 이벤트를 자동감지하면서 높은 성능 신뢰도, 견고한 하드웨어 내구성, 용이한 유지보수, 끊김없는 통신유지 기능들이 요구된다. 이러한 요구사항들을 만족시키기 위하여 스마트 비젼 센서가 내장된 초소형 위성통신 단말을 제안하며 위성 송수신 기능과 더불어 고 신뢰도의 임베디드 영상분석 및 영상압축 기능을 처리한다. 제안하는 비젼 센서 알고리즘의 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션과 비젼 센서 시제품 시험을 통하여 영상감시 성능을 검증하였으며 실용성을 확인하였다.
