Study on the Sense Space by Merleau-Ponty's Phenomenological body Perception (메를로-퐁티의 신체지각을 통한 감성 공간 연구)

  • This paper is a research about the expression and characteristics of sense space by a phenomenological approach through body from an anthropocentric point of view. The phenomenological expression elements of sense space have been abstracted by putting the characteristics of body perception into shape through the phenomenological approach. This research aims to provide the expression and characteristics of sense space that can be applied by phenomenological elements of emotional expression, and analyze their application level by phenomenological body perception in space through corresponding examples. As a result of this research, the expressions of sense space approach - such as migration of moving lines, reiteration and segmentation of region, spatial flexibility, transferal of sense, stimulation of combined senses, symbolic abstraction of memory, perception of environment and space, time by light, phenomenal water space, time expression by surrounding environments etc. - and the characteristics of sense space according to each expression have been obtained through the phenomenological expression elements in sense space such as expansive perception by consecutive scenes, spatial and sensory experience, embodiment of place, phenomenal change by time. It aims to grope for a new approach and possibility to the embodiment and expression of sense space through the expression of sense space approach based on the phenomenological body perception.

  • This research has been focussed on the evaluation of the driving speed in a graphic environment. Through the investigation of some electronic driving games, two factors related to perceived speed have been extracted. The two factors are distance and density of objects. Experiments have been executed for the two factors. The experiment is needed to acquire a relationship between speed perception and each factor. For experiments involving more than ten subjects, graphical representation of a vehicle and its surrounding environment has been obtained using three-dimensional tools, Pro/ENGINEER and dVISE. Based on the experimental results, relationships are formulated and plotted.

An Inference Similarity-based Federated Learning Framework for Enhancing Collaborative Perception in Autonomous Driving

  • Autonomous vehicles use onboard sensors to sense the surrounding environment. In complex autonomous driving scenarios, the detection and recognition capabilities are constrained, which may result in serious accidents. An efficient way to enhance the detection and recognition capabilities is establishing collaborations with the neighbor vehicles. However, the collaborations introduce additional challenges in terms of the data heterogeneity, communication cost, and data privacy. In this paper, a novel personalized federated learning framework is proposed for addressing the challenges and enabling efficient collaborations in autonomous driving environment. For obtaining a global model, vehicles perform local training and transmit logits to a central unit instead of the entire model, and thus the communication cost is minimized, and the data privacy is protected. Then, the inference similarity is derived for capturing the characteristics of data heterogeneity. The vehicles are divided into clusters based on the inference similarity and a weighted aggregation is performed within a cluster. Finally, the vehicles download the corresponding aggregated global model and train a personalized model which is personalized for the cluster that has similar data distribution, so that accuracy is not affected by heterogeneous data. Experimental results demonstrate significant advantages of our proposed method in improving the efficiency of collaborative perception and reducing communication cost.

An Empirical Analysis of the Exhibition Hall of the Deoksugung Art Museum Perceived by Visitors (공간 환경에 대한 감성평가와 실증분석에 관한 연구 - 덕수궁 미술관 전시실을 중심으로 -)

  • The purposes of this study are to investigate the dimensions of the sensibility towards a spatial environment perceived by the general public and to present the characteristics of various spaces through empirical analyses. A set of words are selected to describe visitors' perception of a spatial environment based on previous studies, and then they are arranged according to the degree of understanding and suitability. The results of the survey on the sensibility measurement can be summarized as follows: Factor analyses and cluster analyses are conducted on the indicators measuring the general public's perception of the exhibition hall of the Deoksugung Museum, and the following five dimensions are obtained: spatial value, spatial aesthetic, spatial affinity, spatial freshness, and spatial materials. The satisfaction level of visitors regarding the space of the exhibition hall under study is also investigated. A regression analysis is conducted to find a relationship between the satisfaction level of visitors (DV) and the five dimensions (IVs), and the analysis shows that there is a significant relationship. Among the five factors, the 'Spacial Value' and 'Spacial Affinity' are found to Significantly affect visitors' satisfaction. The results of this empirical study show that visitors' affinity towards the exhibition hall of the Deoksugung Art Museum along with the surrounding garden, as well as visitors' appreciation of the social, historical, and cultural value of Deoksugung Palace, are found to greatly affect visitors' overall satisfaction with the spatial environment of the museum.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze about perception and preference degree of resident's for environmental moulding. We will find factors effected to utilization of residents. So we should extract characteristics in the way of an association factors. The analysis result of this study is as follows: First, We could know that they consider form and establishment position to be the most important factors a using environment moulding in a housing complex. Second, it is high that preference degree at environmental moulding of figurative shape located in front of main entrance harmonized with gardening. Third, it is high that preference degree at environmental moulding of abstract shape located in front of a pray ground. Finally, environment moulding of mixing form appeared highest preference degree at parking lot entrance location. As valued result of this thesis, the result of environment moulding and surrounding as harmony form is going to utilize to basic to establish in a housing complex. furthermore, This research increase dwelling peoples' satisfaction as well as arrangement of environmental moulding and is expected that is going to give affirmative effect that can enhance quality of a housing complex.

  • Human Being is being that have the reason as well as body, and first liaison consists through this body justly with outside. The essence of environmental problem such as today can speak that is a harmful traces for health that leave in air, water, soil that pass body. Actual nature is 'Ecological nature', that is necessary for human life directly in survival and offer the integrated relations with harmony. This grafting of principle, that is a construction for architecture and interior architecture in environment furtherance, is required. This is not a subject of usefulness and contemplation, but essential approach the cogredience, that is forming connection directly with nature, is required. Therefore, this research does Questel about 'Nature epistemology, which nature and human's relation can be integrated by alive practical relation. Through this, the Relatedness of 'Natural environment and construction surrounding' is accomplished 'the whole unity' and this research wish to investigate basis that a actual human work's environment can be completed as 'Ecological nature'.

Survey-based User Perception Analysis for Off-site Construction in Institutional Building

  • Off-site construction (OSC) is an architectural approach involving the prefabrication of building structures, components, parts, and equipment in a factory, followed by transportation to the construction site for assembly and installation. This method is particularly suitable for buildings with simple, repetitive structures and straightforward processes, such as hospitals, hotels, and schools. However, the inherent prefabrication characteristic has led to a widespread negative perception among the general public, resulting in significant resistance, especially from parents, concerning educational buildings utilizing OSC. In response, this study targeted users currently employing OSC in institutional buildings to analyze critical perception factors and derive avenues for enhancing the activation of OSC methods. The survey, categorized into seven factors, revealed that safety factors received the most positive responses, while social factors were identified as the most negatively perceived. The analysis of improvement requirements for OSC indicated that addressing issues related to hazardous material exposure and improving air quality are crucial in the equipment and eco-friendly aspects. In terms of design and usability improvement, maintaining harmony with the surrounding environment was identified as essential. Ultimately, this study anticipates the activation of OSC through the analysis of user perceptions and improvement suggestions for each OSC factor.

An Importance and Satisfaction Analysis of Selection Attribute by Rural Theme Park Customers - A Case Study on Anseong Farm Land - (농촌테마공원 이용객의 선택속성에 대한 중요도와 만족도 분석 - 안성팜랜드를 중심으로 -)

  • This study is intended to examine the perception of importance-satisfaction in selective properties of rural theme park with the users and to suggest operation method and implications for rural theme parks which are being built on a nation-wide basis. The study results are as follows: First, the results from the analysis on importance-satisfaction in the selective properties showed that both attractiveness of natural landscape and excellence of surrounding environment are high. Second, the t-test with matched samples for importance-satisfaction showed that there were significant statistical differences in all items, and the users rated satisfaction lower than the importance. Third, IPA results showed that the items such as diversity of festival event, accessibility and convenience of public transportation, appropriateness of expense and kindness in service appeared in the 2nd quadrant 'direction of concentrated efforts'Therefore, this study was able to identify the perception of importance-satisfaction among the users of rural theme parks. The study findings suggest that it is necessary to preserve surrounding natural environment, ensure appropriate pricing, introduce events and increase service level in constructing and operating rural theme parks.

On an Adaptation of Announcement Sound Level in White Noise Environment (백색소음 환경에서 음성안내레벨 적응에 관한 연구)

  • In daily life, there are many information broadcasting by using voice information systems. If surrounding noises are mixed with the information signals, the clarity of the signal become down graded too much to understand. Surrounding noises are not uniformed, but very irregular signals always changing. Therefore, it is very hard to control the output signals along with the irregular signals. This paper suggests a method to change the level of the voice information adapting to the surround noise in the white noise environment. The surround noise level is measured by subtracting the stored output voice signal from the voice signal degraded by the noise. The noise is used to estimation of SNR. And, the method to change the output level of voice signal adapting to the noise level. The suggested adaptive voice information system has the advantage to improve listeners' speech perception and to use amplifier's energy effectively.

  • Semantic segmentation and object detection are widely used to perceive surrounding environment during autonomous driving. Owing to the nature of autonomous driving, which operates with limited resources and equipment, lightweight and fast networks are preferred. In this paper, we propose an efficient semantic segmentation algorithm using a wavelet transform. First, we apply the wavelet transform to separate high-frequency and low-frequency components from an input image. For each component, different feature maps are extracted, and the distinct information appropriately merged. When the proposed method was applied to the Cityscapes dataset using a lightweight network suitable for autonomous driving, a 2.2% performance improvement was achieved from a 0.2% parameter increase. We expect this algorithm can be applied to achieve more stable and accurate perceptions of the surrounding environment.
