  • In this paper, we consider the problem of designing a simple learning variable structure system for repeatable tracking control of robot manipulators. We combine a variable structure control law as the robust part for stabilization and a feedforward learning law as the intelligent part for nonlinearity compensation. We show that the tracking error asymptotically converges to zero. Finally, we give computer simulation results in order to show the effectiveness of our method.

  • The conventional tracking testing as IEC-60587 is widely used In surface aging measurement of outside insulator because those testing can carry out very short time in Lab testing. Also IEC-60587 testing is able to offer the standard judgement of relative degradation level of outside HV machine. Therefore it is very useful method compare to previous conventional tracking testing method and effective Lab testing method. But surface discharges(SD) have very complex characteristics of discharge pattern so it is required estimation research to development of precise analysis method. In recent, the study of IIR-camera is carrying out discover of temperature of power equipment through condition diagnosis and system development of degradation diagnosis. In this study, SD occurred from IEC-60587 is measured with partial temperature distribution in real time, the degradation grade of SD is analyzed through produced patterns in IEC-60587 according to applied time.

  • A digital image processing technique which is able to get the velocity vector distribution of a surface of the spilled oil in the ocean without contacting the flow itself. This technique is based upon the PIV(Particle Imaging Velocimetry) technique and its system mainly consists of a high sensitive camera, a CCD camera, an image grabber, and a host computer in which an image processing algorithm is adopted for velocity vector acquisition. For the acquisition of the advective velocity vector of floating matters on the ocean, a new multi-frame tracking algorithm is proposed, and for the acquisition of the diffusion velocity vector distribution of the spilt oil onto the water surface, a high sensitive gray-level cross-correlation algorithm is proposed.

  • Almost all existing controllers for nonholonomic mobile robots are designed without considering the motor dynamics. This is because the presence of the motor dynamics increases the complexity of the system dynamics, and makes difficult the design of the controller. In this paper, we propose a simple controller for trajectory tracking of mobile robots including motor dynamics. For the simple controller design, the dynamic surface control methodology is applied and extended to multi-input multi-output systems (i.e., mobile robots) that the number of inputs and outputs are different. Finally, simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

  • Recently, the optical disk drive that is thin in thickness has been demanded by the popularization of notebook PC. The device that controls the thickness of a drive is the height of optical pickup. Therefore, researches about this are going on and an asymmetric actuator is the good choice fur this target. However, the actuator of this design has troubles that a subsidiary resonance is likely to be actuated by discord between the center of force and the mass of renter. In this paper, relation between the tracking coil and the subsidiary resonance is analyzed and dynamic characteristics of an actuator are improved by using experiments design and response surface method.

  • Tracking currents related to field exposure for ADSS in T/L is of importance. At phase-ta-phase voltage in excess of 100 kV self-supporting aerial cables with solid insulation tend to suffer damage in regions close to the tower. The damage can be put down to surface tracking currents resulting from different degrees of surface contamination and moisture. Main characteristic of this exposure is the induced voltage analysis and position of ADSS. For complicated calculation of induced voltage on ADSS, this paper described an effective numerical calculation method based on CSM. The proposed methods are applied to 275 kV T/L of Malaysia.

  • This paper aims at enhancing the electric production efficiency of photovoltaic(PV) system. The electrical power of PV system is proportional to light intensity on a PV module surface. In this paper, we apply two types of systems to enhance power generation efficiency. First, of all, concentring sunlight using specular surface and one-axis tracking system which traces the sun with vertical direction are applied in this project. From this, we analyze the fixed type method and power generation efficiency.

  • The moment-of-fluid (MOF) method is a new volume-tracking method that accurately treats evolving material interfaces. Based on the moment data (volume and centroid) for each material, the material interfaces are reconstructed with second-order spatial accuracy in a strictly conservative manner. The MOF method is coupled with a stabilized finite element incompressible Navier-Stokes solver for two fluids, namely water and air. The effectiveness of the MOF method is demonstrated with a free-surface dam-break problem.
