Changes of Handle and Total Appearance Value on Waterproof and Water Vapor Permeable Coated Fabrics by Repeated Washing (투습방수 코팅소재의 반복세탁에 따른 촉감 및 봉제 외관 성능의 변화)

  • The handle were observed by objective and subjective method as the washing was repeated for 4 kinds(sample A, B, C, D) of materials which have different water vapor transmission, and the change of water vapor transmission each others. The results of factor analyses for 18 polar adjective words on subjective handle test yielded 4 factors, that were 'elastic property', 'surface property', 'thickness and weight property' and 'thermal and rigid property'. The surface properties were deteriorated remarkably as washing was repeated and significant difference were observed. Compared with the primary hand value for each materials, the statistical difference of samples was shown at Koshi and Fukurami measured by the KES-FB system. Koshi decreased for all the materials after repeated washing, and Fukurami had a tendency to increase for all the materials in proportion to repeated washing. Significant difference of total hand value wasn't shown in repeated washing number, but in fabric types.

  • The thermal treatment for carbon nanotube was applied to remove the water, metal catalyst and other impurities in carbon nanotube. The surface of carbon nanotube was changed into open structure with acid treatment by mixed solution of $HNO_3$ and $H_2SO_4$. The dispersion property of the functionalized and modified carbon nanotube was assessed with naked eyes by dispersing it in DMF. Carbon nanotube mixd polyurethane film was made to estimate the dispersion property by reflectance of the film with UV-Vis spectrometer. Also the internal structure of carbon nanotube was observed with SEM and TEM and thermal pyrolysis property of the carbon nanotube was measured by TGA and DSC. The surface modification of carbon nanotube by thermal and acid treatments improved the dispersion property of carbon nanotube/polyurethane mixed materials.

  • In this study, the general theory of fractality is discussed to provide a fundamental understanding of fractal geometry applied to heterogeneous material surfaces like pavement surface and rock surface. It is well known that many physical phenomena and systems are chaotic, random and that the features of roughness are found at a wide spectrum of length scales from the length of the sample to the atomic scales. Studying the mechanics of these physical phenomena, it is absolutely necessary to characterize such multi scaled rough surfaces and to know the structural property of such surfaces at all length scales relevant to the phenomenon. This study emphasizes the role of fractal geometry to characterize the roughness of various surfaces. Pavement roughness and rock surface roughness were examined to correlate their roughness property to fractality.

  • In this papers, Study on the Bonding property and Strength Evaluation in Bonding interface Joints of Dissimilar material using DOE. We found optimal condition that uses experimental design method (Response Surface Analysis, DOE) used temperature, pressure, time on experiment factor. And we could get bonding condition and strength that break and crack do not happen in mechanical processing about united dissimilar material. And progress 3 point bending tests and verified result.

  • The effect of coating temperature with regard to surface properties of TiN-coated layer on hard metal(WC-Co) are experimentally investigated. Hardness, surface roughness, TiN coating thickness and adsorption force were measured in order to evaluate the effect of coating temperature. The two-way ANOVA method is used in order to evaluate the experimental data. In AIP processing, It is concluded that the furnace temperature in the range of $400^{\circ}C\~500^{\circ}C$ affected to a little increasing the number of production with the coating temperature.

  • Plastically deformed layer influences the mechanical property of the mechanical element such as creep hardening, microscopical crack and stress corrosion destruction. Therefore, the property so called the surface integrity has to be considered, and the machined surface including plastic deformation, distribution of stress has to be conducted quantitatively. This paper explains the orthogonal cutting, and made an orthogonal cutting model using the finite element method, then analyzed cutting power, plastic deformation of workpiece. It introduces the developed subsequent recrystallizations technique for measurement of the plastic strain of machined surface, and verified the technique.

  • The oxide film of silicon wafer has been mainly polished by fumed silica, colloidal silica or ceria slurry. Because colloidal silica slurry is uniform and highly dispersed composed of spherical shape particles, by which the oxide film polished remains to be less scratched in finishing polishing process. Even though the uniformity and spherical shape is advantage for reducing the scratch, it may also be the factor to decrease the removal rate. We have studied the correlation of silica abrasive particles and CMP characteristics by varying pH, down force, and table rotation rate in polishing. It was found that the CMP polishing is dependent on the morphology, aggregation, and the surface property of the silica particles.

  • Wear property of plasma spray coating in $Cr_2O_3$ powder manufatured of spray dry method on the aluminum substrate was inspected for the application of piston-ring of automotive enginel. The plama spray coatings were varied with feed rate and particle size. Used the ball-on disc type tribometer, wear volume, friction, surface rougness were investigated. The delamination of the coating layer were observed with SEM. Also the cross-section of wear track were investigated, using optical microscopy. As a result of experiment, wear mechanism was addressed in the various coating process.

  • The surface oxidation of magnesium was performed by burning and PEO treatment method. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM), EDS, and I-V characteristics have been applied to the study of the oxidation status. The sample formed by buring method shows weaker corrosion-resistant property than that by PEO method, but this shows more conducting property.
