  • The present work is an attempt to calculate the steady state pressure and perturbed pressure of journal bearings that has a helical groove. A coordinate is fitted to the helical groove and governing equation is derived by applying generalized coodinate system to the divergence formulation method. This method makes it possible to deal with an arbitrary configuration of a lubricated surface. The dynamical response of shaft-bearing system is calculated using the bearing reaction force and external force.

  • 수용성, 구형의 단백질 분자는 기능성(효소, 유화제, 중화제 등)에 따라 센서나 유사생체기관에 응용성이 크다. 본 연구는 물-공기 계면에서 형성되는 단백질의 표면상태방정식(일명 표면등온선)을 이론적으로 도출하고 그 결과를 실험적으로 확인하여 단백질 분자의 기능적 이용에 활용하고자 한 것이다. 아미노산 부분사슬간, 분자와 물과의 인력, 정전기적 인력을 고려하여 종합적 상태방정식을 도출하였으며 탄소 14로 tagging한 albumin실험과 비교하여 상당히 일치하는 경향을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • An accurate tip position control of a single-link flexible manipulator subjected to torque disturbance is achieved by utilizing so called sliding mode controller with disturbance estimation (SMCDE). After formulating the governing equation of motion in the state 1pace representation, a stable sliding surface is designed via the LQR method. The SMCDE is then synthesized by integrating equivalent sliding mode controller with the disturbance estimator which is featured by an integrated average value of the imposed disturbance over a certain sampling period. The regulating tip motion of the flexible manipulator is evaluated by employing the proposed SMCDE.

제트엔진의 슬라이딩모드 제어기 설계 (Design of Sliding Mode Controller for Jet Engine)

  • The technique of sliding mode control has been introduced and designed for jet engine controller. For designing the controller for controlled element, the state space model of the turbojet engine is derived in advance from the perturbation of non-linear engine dynamic equation at operation point. Based upon the jet engine model, the robust sliding mode controller is proposed associated with the optimum sliding mode function. The numerical simulation demonstrates that the designed sliding mode controller proves its effectiveness for the jet engine by showing superior control performances over the conventional PI controller with fast responses and robustness to disturbance.

  • The present paper deals with the determination of temperature, displacement and thermal stresses in a semi-infinite hollow circular disk due to internal heat generation within it. Initially the disk is kept at arbitrary temperature F(r, z). For times t > 0 heat is generated within the circular disk at a rate of g(r, z, t) $Btu/hr.ft^3$. The heat flux is applied on the inner circular boundary (r = a) and the outer circular boundary (r = b). Also, the lower surface (z = 0) is kept at temperature $Q_3(r,t)$ and the upper surface ($Z={\infty}$) is kept at zero temperature. Hollow circular disk extends in the z-direction from z = 0 to infinity. The governing heat conduction equation has been solved by using finite Hankel transform and the generalized finite Fourier transform. As a special case mathematical model is constructed for different metallic disk have been considered. The results are obtained in series form in terms of Bessel's functions. These have been computed numerically and illustrated graphically.

  • We present a numerical investigation on gaseous (ethylene-air mixture) detonation in the elastoplastical metal tubes to understand the wall effects associated with the developing detonation instability. The acoustic disturbances originating from the rapidly expanding tube walls reach the detonating flame surface, thereby causing flame distortions and total energy losses. The compressible Navier-Stokes equations with equation of state for gas and elasto-plastic deformation field equations for inert tubes are solved simultaneously to understand the complex multi-material interaction in the rapidly expanding gas pipe. In order to track governing variables across the material interface, we use the hybrid particle level-set and ghost fluid methods to precisely estimate the interfacial quantities. Features observed from the deforming (thin) tube show substantially different behavior when a detonation propagates in the rigid (thick) tube with no acoustically responding wall conditions.

토목섬유를 이용한 보강토옹벽의 개발 (A Study on the Development of Reinforced Earth wall by Geotextile)

  • The model was developed by applying the principles of Bacot and Vidal to measure the behavior of deformation of the reinforced earth wall, and various tasts were performed by using the plastic fabric filter and the galvanized steel plate as a strip. The results obtained are as follows; 1. When the reinforced earth wall is deformed by the load, the strip is completely reinforced by the backfill materials and changed to the rigid block state, under the state of failure which permits sliding only, the next theoretical equation is formed. (H/L) . tan$\theta$ [cosO-sinOtanO] =2sinO[tan($\theta$ +0) +tanO] 2.The degree of the mutual reinforcement of the backfill material and the strip depend on the physical characteristics of the each material especially the angle of shearing resistance of the backfill material is desirable over 20$^{\circ}$ and, if it is over 400, its function could be a maximum. 3.The distribution of the maximum tensile strain of the reinforcement is changing with the height of reinforced earth wall, and when the height from bottom of the reinforced earth wall is 1.85 to 3. 35m, the maximum tensile strain appears at 2m from the skin element. The maximum tensile strain is increased by the depth of the reinforced earth wall from surface, and increased with the lapse of time after construction. 4.The failure surface of the reinforced earth wall by the concrete skin was about 60$^{\circ}$and the failure behavior of the reinforced earth wall in which the fabric filter was buried was slow, and so the pore pressure could be decreased. 5.It is possible to construct the fabric retained earth wall by the plastic fabric filter only. And the reinforcing effect between the steel plate and the plastic fabric filter is not largely different. however, in the aspect of the economic durability, the plastic fabric filter is more advantageous. 6.The reinforcing action mainly depends on the width and the length of the reinforcing materials, if possible, the full width is advantageous to enlarge the contact area with backfill. but considering the economic aspect, it is neccessary to develop the method controlling the space of the strip.

Optimization of Monochamus alternatus media and culture period for cordycepin production in Cordyceps militaris culture using solid-state fermentation

  • In this study, we investigated the effect of solid culture medium on the production of cordycepin in Cordyceps militaris. The regression equation was expressed as follows: Y1 = 755.3-58.6625X1+4.79432E-14X2-46.6625X3-5.66269E-14X1X2-0.025X1X3+1.62475E-14X2X3-160.6625X12+0.0125X22-206.9625X32, where, Y represents the value of cordycepin content (㎍/g), X1 corresponds to the weight of M. alternatus in solid culture medium (g/bottle), X2 to the water content of the solid culture medium (%), and X3 to the culture period (day). The solid culture medium was optimized using the response surface methodology, and the optimal medium composition was as follows: the weight of M. alternatus in solid culture medium and water content were 16.2% and 100.7% (20.14 mL water/20 g solid culture medium), respectively, with a culture period of 39 days. Under these conditions, the cordycepin content of the fruiting bodies reached 150.0 ㎍/g (actual value). The supplementation of M. alternatus in solid culture for improved cordycepin content of C. militaris seems to be a promising alternative to wild and solid cultivation.

  • 메탄올-아세토니트릴 혼합용매계에서 파라치환된 브롬화 벤질 및 요오드화 벤질과 아닐린 치환체 사이의 친핵성 치환반응을 35.0$^{\circ}$C에서 연구하였다. Hammett관계식, Bronsted 관계식을 이용하여 반응 선택성 파라미터인$ {\rho}_N,\;{\rho}_C$${\beta}$값을 구했으며 분광용매화 관계식의 계수 a, s 등을 구했다. 분광용매화 관계식의 계수 a, s 및 a/s값으로부터 혼합용매의 ${\pi}^{sat}$효과가 본 반응에 크게 작용함을 알았다. PES 모형을 적용하여 본 반응이 dissociative $S_N$2메카니즘으로 진행됨을 알 수 있었으며 이탈기 효과의 논의에는 PES모형이 실험결과와 잘 일치하지 않음을 알 수 있었다. 양자역학적 해석방법을 이용하여 본 반응의 전이상태 변화를 논의했으며 실험결과와 잘 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

분광학적 방법에 의한 계면활성제의 친수성 표면에 대한 흡착양상 연구 (Investigation of the Adsorption Phenomena of Surfactant on Hydrophilic Surface by Spectroscopic Method)

  • 수중에서 친수성을 나타내는 부유물질의 안정성에 대한 계면활성제의 영향을 고찰하기 위해 quartz에 대한 잔세이트 homologs의 흡착양상을 FT-IR spectroscopy를 통해 조사함으로써 흡착반응 메카니즘을 규명하고자 하였다. 그리고, 이의 결과를 동일 조건에서의 접촉각의 측정 결과와 비교고찰함으로써 반응 메카니즘 해석에 대한 신뢰성을 부여하였다. 에틸 잔세이트의 경우 흡착시간에 따라 quartz 표면에 monolayer를 형성한 후에 계속하여 reverse orientation을 통한 흡착이 진행되어 double layer가 형성됨이 관찰되었다. 프로필과 부틸 잔세이트의 경우에도 유사한 경향이 나타났는데, alkyl group의 C분자수가 증가함에 따라 흡착시간은 감소됨이 파악되었다. Young's equation을 통한 흡착반응의 열역학적 관점에 대해 논하였으며, 동일한 잔세이트의 경우 농도 변화에 따른 흡착속도의 변화에 대해서도 관찰하였다. 본 연구를 통해 수계에서 계면활성제가 부유성 물질에 작용하는 양상은 계면활성제의 농도와 분자구조, 그리고 수중에서 이 물질이 잔류하는 시간에 따라 크게 영향을 받음을 알 수 있었다.
