공급 사슬 환경에서 중소 제조 기업의 가격 결정 전략에 관한 연구 (A Study on Pricing Decision Strategy of Small and Medium Size Manufacturing Company in Supply Chain Environment)

  • The purpose of this paper is to suggest a supplier and buyer's pricing decision strategy model with discount-policy over a long-term replenishment contract in a supply chain environment by small and medium size manufacturing company. We assume that the buyer has a superior economic power over a supplier and each agent in a supply chain is unaware of each other. The supplier proposes pricing decision strategy to induce the buyer to choose the terms of contract for the benefit of the supplier. Then buyer decides the terms of contract to maximize her profit considering supplier's discount-policy. We also present a numerical example to illustrate the efficiency of pricing decision strategy.

  • This research consists of (1) building (or molding) the Dynamics Simulation Model on Return Policy mainly used in publications, phonographs, and computer industry; which are seen used in supply chain contract known as effective control mechanism under the varied supply chain situations, and (2) analyzing the effects that return rates and seller's contract parameters have in the outcome of the model and (3) observing how the effectiveness of Return Policy changes under such circumstances where the buyer's sales ability and the seller's risk inclination are taken into account. Thus, the main purpose of this research lies in analyzing what exactly are the effects (and or outcome) that sales ability and risk inclination have in Return Policy, and additionally by conducting comprehensive research on Supply Chain Policy Dynamics Simulation Model, we will try to prove that not only the Systems Dynamics approach is highly contributive in supply chain management but also that it will serve as a foothold in future research. As a result of the research, supply chain achievement level turned out to be high when Return Policy is enforced, and the achievement level was even higher when seller's sales ability was taken into consideration along with the Return Policy. On the other hand, the achievement level decreased when the seller had risk aversive tendencies.

Measuring a Value of Contract Flexibility in the Third-Party Warehousing

  • This paper considers the value of warehousing contract under probabilistic demands. We consider a supply chain consisting of a supplier, a retailer and its third-party warehousing partner who provides the warehousing service to the retailer through an outsourcing contract. A typical contract is specified by initial space commitment and modification schedule. The retailer decides the order quantity for the supplier and space commitment for the outsourcing contract. Since there is close relationship between order quantity and space commitment to minimize the total cost including ordering cost, inventory carrying cost, shortage cost, and warehousing cost, we develop an analytical model under probabilistic demands, where the retailer can determine the optimal order size and space commitment level jointly. We found the closed-form optimum for a single-period case and the optimal conditions for a two-period case. To evaluate the value of contract flexibility for the two-period case, we compared the total cost under two policies; one with modification, under which the base commitment can be changed at the start of each period and the other without modification. From results of our numerical analysis, we showed that the modification policy is more cost-effective as the variability of demand increases.

구매비용할인을 고려한 다회보충계약 (Multiple Replenishment Contract with Purchase Price Discount)

  • We are concerned with a multiple replenishment contract with a purchase price discount in a supply chain. The chain is composed of one supplier, one buyer and consumers for a product. The replenishment contract is based upon the well-known (s, Q) policy but allows contracting several firmed orders at a time with a price discount. Due to a larger forecast error of the future demand, the buyer should keep a higher level of safety stock to provide the same level of service of the usual (s, Q) policy but can reduce his purchase cost by placing larger quantity. Thus there exists a trade-off between the price discount and inventory holding cost. We present a model for the contract and an algorithm to find the optimum number of the firmed orders. Computer experiments show that the algorithm finds the global optimum solution very fast.

  • Following the increasing importance of logistics function in today's company operation, this work explores the mechanism for cooperation within a supply chain, especially between a firm and an independent logistics supplier. We first characterize the optimal linear logistics contract based upon the recent developments in contract theory, and then investigate the effect of such a contract on the firm's inventory policy. The results indicate that the order quantity becomes smaller and the lead time becomes shorter and under the optimal contract than without the incentive scheme. Accordingly, the service level under the optimal contract becomes higher. These findings are in accordance with the literature on vertical control and JIT (Just in Time) philosophy.

  • 본 연구에서는 공급계약(supply contact)방식의 전환을 통해 군재고의 효율적인 관리를 달성하고자 한다. 이를 위해 현 육군공급계약 시스템과 수량유연성계약 시스템을 시뮬레이션 모델링하고, 4가지 불확실한 수요패턴에 대한 육군 의약품의 재고수준과 재고비용에 미치는 영향을 동적으로 연구한다. 다양한 수요패턴에 대해 수량유연성계약이 군재고 수준과 재고비용을 감소시키는 것을 시뮬레이션을 통하여 입증함으로써 군의 공급계약방식의 새로운 변화를 제안한다. 시뮬레이션을 통한 검증작업을 군 재고 시스템을 중심으로 하였으나, 본 연구 과정은 일반 기업 등에서도 충분히 활용가치가 있을 것으로 예상한다.

The Effect of Unobservable Efforts on Contractual Efficiency: Wholesale Contract vs. Revenue-Sharing Contract

  • An interesting puzzle in business practices is that although many researchers emphasize the benefits of a revenue-sharing contract, a wholesale contract has remained to be the most common contractual form. By introducing the concept of unobservable efforts, we examine the contractual efficiency of a wholesale contract and a revenue-sharing contract. The multi-task agency model and experimental design approach are used to analyze the relationship between the contractual efficiency and parameters. A major finding of our study is that a wholesale contract coordinates unobservable efforts, while it fails to coordinate the order quantity decision. Because unobservable efforts have mixed effects on the contractual efficiency, the superiority of contract type depends on parameters. This finding implies that a wholesale contract can be a competitive contract, especially when unobservable efforts are heavily involved. Our conclusion is that the current popularity of a wholesale contract is manager's rational response to complex supply chain environments rather than irrational behaviors.

  • 항공우주분야에서 특수 목적 항공기 이외에도 시제기, 무인비행장치, 우주발사체 등 다양한 형태의 제작물공급계약이 증가하고 있다. 도급인의 입장에서는 거액의 비용을 지출하여 제작물을 공급받기로 예정되어 있었는데, 제품의 품질과 성능의 기준을 제시하는 구매규격서가 부실하거나 성능미달여부를 판단할 만한 능력이 부족한 경우에는 목적 달성 불능 이외에도 막대한 시간과 비용을 소모하게 된다. 수급인으로서도 계약 목적 달성에 필요한 성능과 품질을 갖춘 제작물을 공급할 능력이 없음에도 불구하고 무리하게 계약을 체결하게 되면, 일의 미완성에 따른 매몰비용과 계약해제에 따른 손해배상을 감수하여야 하므로 막대한 손해가 발생한다. 대상사안에서 피고는 원고에게 구매규격서에 규정된 바와 같이 ILS Offset 비행이 가능한 Happy Box 방식에 의한 항공기를 납품하도록 하였으나, 원고는 RNAV 방식에 의한 항공기를 납품하려고 하였다. RNAV 방식에 의하여도 ILS 지상신호의 검사가 가능하더라도 원고가 주장하는 방식으로 제작된 항공기는 구매규격서에서 요구한 ILS Offset 비행기능을 갖추지 못하여 피고가 구매규격서에서 요구한 목적을 달성할 수 없으므로, 이를 이유로 한 피고의 계약해제가 적법한지 여부가 문제되었다. 이 사건 계약의 목적물인 항공기는 부대체물에 해당하므로 이 사건 계약은 도급의 성질을 가지고, 따라서 이 사건 계약에서 일이 완성되었다고 하려면 항공기의 주요구조 부분이 약정된 대로 제작되어 사회통념상 일반적으로 요구되는 성능을 갖추고 있어야 한다. 그런데 원고가 납품한 항공기는 구매규격서에서 요구한 ILS Offset 비행기능을 갖추지 못하여 피고가 구매규격서에서 요구한 목적을 달성할 수 없으므로 중대한 하자가 있고, 이러한 하자는 원고가 보수하는 것이 불가능하므로, 이를 이유로 한 피고의 계약해제는 적법하다.

  • This study investigate the impact of supply chain contracts on supply chain performance. This study employed Price adjustment contract(PAC) and Quantity adjustment contract(QAC) as two main types of a vertical coordination mechanism. We simulate different types of coordination mechanisms with various degrees of demand uncertainties and several capacity tightness scenarios. This study shows that PAC and QAC significantly enhance the supply chain profits and fill rates suggesting that supply chain performance can be improved by implementing a proper coordination mechanism depends on the level of a capacity tightness and demand uncertainty.

외상판매 계약과 물량할인 계약을 통한 공급망 협력 방안 (Supply Chain Coordination Under a Trade Credit Contract and a Quantity Discount Contract)

  • Consider a supply chain in which a vendor supplies a product to a buyer. We assume that the buyer's and vendor's inventory cost structures are different, resulting in differences in inventory order/delivery cycle times. Here, if one party insists on its individually optimal order/delivery quantity, the other party will suffer from mismatches in cycle times. Under this scenario, coordination contracts that make use of either a Net Term/Two parts Term Trade Credit or a Quantity Discount are designed to align individually optimal order Quantities. We compare and analyze the perform ances of these contracts. The focus of the comparison is the ability of contracts to generate a lower cost for the supply chain. We show that a Trade Credit policy can be effectively used to coordinate a supply chain. In many cases it will result in a lower supply chain cost compared to that achieved by using a Quantitative Discount policy.
