This research aimed at providing the direction for future improvement of broadcast subtitle design by identifying the user perception on broadcast subtitles of Terrestrial DMB. First, we contemplated on the existing research about broadcast subtitles. As a result, we found out that broadcast subtitle plays an essential role when watching a program and that the minimization of letters, clear fonts and color arrangement, rearrangement of components were identified as main factors that increase readability. However, the terrestrial DMB user evaluation on image quality, composition, color and brightness was not that positive. In addition, the evaluation on the readability of broadcast subtitle, information transmission, subtitle composition, letter font, number and size of letter was more negative. Developing a subtitle design which considers user convenience and suits terrestrial DMB screens in aspects of broadcast subtitle form and composition, limit of information, clearness and size of the letter is required.

We are able to watch international multimedia anytime and anywhere, if we have the devices to connect Internet. Netflix and Youtube are the most massive and the most visited streaming platforms in the world. So If audiences are not familiar with the exotic culture such as behaviors, contexts, sarcasm, history and the current issues, It would happen a consequence that they entirely have to rely on subtitles in order to get inform. This research hereby aims to compare Korean transcriptions of the same movies streamed by the two selected platforms(Netflix and Youtube). As a result, good translation is that translators should use appropriate omissions and detailed explanations in limited time and space so that audience can concentrate on the vedio. If translators study the work in depth and spend enough time working on it, the quality of translation will definitely increase. Finally, this study contributed to the revitalization of the video translation market, which is still in the past, through the misinterpretation of videos produced at a low unit price and with minimal time without guidelines for video translation.

This study aims to evaluate the accuracy and completeness of Korean and English closed captions for Netflix's "Squid Game" and to present implications based on the findings. To achieve this, the closed captioning guidelines of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission, DCMP, and the Korea Communications Commission were identified and analyzed. The analysis of the subtitle of the entire "Squid Game" series reveals that, while Korean closed captions accurately present slangs and titles, they present non-existent information in speaker identification. In English closed captions, speaker identification guidelines are well followed, but omissions of slangs and title mistranslations are observed. In terms of completeness, both Korean and English closed captions are found to omit certain audio parts. To address these issues, the study suggests strengthening the QA process, establishing a system to communicate original text problems during translation, and utilizing general English subtitles.

지구 온난화의 영향 등으로 해외 및 국내의 재난 재해 발생빈도가 증가하고 있으며, 그와 비례하여 인명 및 재산 피해 규모도 높아지고 있다. 재난방송은 예상되는 재난 등의 위험을 미리 알림으로써 재난 등에 적극적으로 대비하여, 생명과 재산을 재난으로부터 지키게 하므로 그 중요성이 더욱 증가하고 있다. KBS는 재난방송 주관방송사로 신속하고 정확한 재난보도를 전달하기 위하여 노력하고 있으며, 그 일환으로 재난을 실시간으로 통보할 수 있는 재난자막 자동화 송출 시스템을 구축하여 운용하고 있다.

The aim of this study is to consider the meaning of the traditional dwelling house and the cardinal points. The cardinal points is a complex concept of the body-scheme direction and celestial direction. This paper explains the meanings of the traditional dwelling house under the following three subtitles; dwelling as the image of the cosmos; dwelling as the center of the world; dwelling as the subjective space. The traditional dwellings have the prominent characteristic of the image of the cosmos and the center of the world which is regarded the human and the architecture as the microcosmos, and which communicates the heaven with the earth. The traditional dwellings which aims to harmonize the human with the nature have the subjective and meaningful space which articulates the nature through the self-systematization.

순환 신경망(RNN) 기반의 Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)는 자연어처리 분야에서 우수한 성능을 보이는 모델이다. 음성을 문자로 변환해주는 Speech to Text (STT)를 이용해 자막을 생성하고, 생성된 자막을 다른 언어로 동시에 번역을 해주는 서비스가 활발히 진행되고 있다. STT를 사용하여 자막을 추출하는 경우에는 마침표가 없이 전부 연결된 문장이 생성되기 때문에 정확한 번역이 불가능하다. 본 논문에서는 영어자막의 자동 번역 시, 정확도를 높이기 위해 텍스트를 문장으로 분할하여 마침표를 생성해주는 방법을 제안한다. 이 때, LSTM을 이용하여 데이터를 학습시킨 후 테스트한 결과 62.3%의 정확도로 마침표의 위치를 예측했다.

화면해설방송이란 시각장애인들이 TV 프로그램, 영화와 같은 미디어에 접근할 수 있도록 해주는 서비스로써 화면을 볼 수 없는 시각장애인들을 위해 상황 변화적 요소와 자막, 그래픽 등의 시각적 요소들을 설명하여 프로그램 내용의 이해를 도와주는 서비스이다. 이러한 화면해설은 대사나 효과음이 없는 부분에 전체 프로그램의 이해를 저해하지 않는 수준에서 삽입된다. 본 논문에서는 화면해설방송 제작을 위한 무 대사 구간 검출 방법을 제안한다. 본 방법은 방송스트림에 포함되어 있는 오디오와 자막 정보를 분석함으로써 화면해설을 삽입할 수 있는 구간을 검출한다. 실제 방송컨텐츠를 이용한 실험을 통해 본 방법을 검증하고 성능을 확인한다.

자동차 운전자는 자신의 자동차 보험료를 할인 받고자 특약제도를 이용한다. 이 중 이미 외국에서 시행되어 좋은 호응을 받아 국내에서도 시행 되고 있는 승용차 요일제 보험이 있다. 승용차 요일제 보험에 가입하기 위해 의무적으로 장착해야 하는 자동차 운행정보 확인 장치는 예비가입자들로부터 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 하지만 보험가입자(운전자)가 보험사에 운행정보확인장치의 차량운행기록을 보내기 위해 다소 번거로운 과정을 거쳐야 한다. 본 논문에서는 보험개발원에서 제시한 '자동차 운행정보 확인 장치 인증규정'을 바탕으로 보험가입자가 편리하게 차량운행기록을 보험사에게 보내기 위해 단거리 무선통신이 내장되어 있는 자동차 운행 정보 확인 장치의 하드웨어 설계와 이것을 활용한 보험사의 운행정보 수집 시스템에 바로 전송할 수 있는 스마트폰 단말기 모니터 프로그램의 설계에 대해 연구하였다.

3D 영화 산업 발전과 함께 4D 영화에 관한 수요가 증가했지만, 4D 영화 제작은 복잡한 시스템과 오랜 제작 시간을 요구한다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 4D 영화 제작 방식의 문제점을 해결하기 위해 자막과 시나리오 정보를 이용한 4D 이벤트 추출 방법을 제안한다. 자막과 시나리오의 문장으로 부터 4D 이벤트와 관련된 특징을 추출하고 4D 사전과 비교하여 4D 이벤트를 분류한다. 또한, 자막과 시나리오 각각의 4D 이벤트 추출 성능을 비교한다.

최근 지상파 UHD 방송에서는 자막을 비디오 패킷에 삽입하여 전달하는 기존 방식이 아닌 별도의 전송로로 전달하는 폐쇄형 자막(closed caption) 방식을 적용하고 있다. 또한 자막에는 문자 뿐만 아니라 이미지까지 포함하여 청각장애인의 프로그램 이해도를 높이는데 활용할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 청각장애 시청자가 방송 콘텐츠 내용의 이해도를 향상시키기 위하여 지상파 UHD 방송에서 기존의 문자 자막과 움직이는 이미지 자막(=감정표현 자막)을 수신하여 동시에 표현할 수 있는 수신시스템을 제안한다.
