This qualitative study employed focused group interviews to collect data on the forgetfulness experienced by elderly persons (over the age of 65) who suffer with subjective memory impairment. The participants were ten elderly persons who participated in the cognitive function improvement program at an elderly welfare center in D city. They were divided into three groups that were comprised of three/four people each, and each group was interviewed for 40~60 minutes. The results showed that "difficulties in human relations", "feeling uncomfortable in daily life", "exposure to a safety risk", "inexpressible ambivalence" and "family effort to overcome forgetfulness" were all expressed in the interviews. The elderly who participated in this study and who complained of subjective memory impairment had both feelings of anxiety and anxiety about non-dementia, and they were making efforts to overcome forgetfulness themselves. Based on this study, we suggest that interventions should be developed that reflect the individual needs of elderly people with subjective memory impairment.

Background: Although there have been multiple reports on surgical outcomes of superior labral anterior to posterior (SLAP) lesions in overhead athletes, only a few reports exist in the literature about the results of nonoperative treatment in elite (collegiate or professional) overhead athletes. To determine the clinical outcomes of nonoperative treatment of SLAP lesions in elite overhead athletes. Methods: Between January 2006 and December 2011, 69 patients were selected. Initial arthroscopic SLAP repair was performed in 19 patients and of the 50 patients who underwent nonsurgical treatment, such as range of motion gain and periscapular muscle strengthening, 14 patients were converted to surgical treatment; 5 patients were lost to follow-up. Medical records of 31 elite overhead athletes who underwent nonsurgical treatment were retrospectively reviewed. Four clinical outcome measures were used: visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, VAS for satisfaction, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons (ASES) score, and subjective feeling of recovery. Results: The average follow-up period was 35.9 months (range, 24-62 months). The VAS for pain decreased from 6.5 to 2.2 (p<0.01) and VAS for satisfaction was 7.6. The ASES score increased from 54.1 to 85.9 (p<0.01). The overall average value of subjective feeling of recovery was 72%. Twenty-three out of 31 elite athletes (74.2%) returned to play after rehabilitation; these 23 athletes performed at the same or higher levels after rehabilitation. Conclusions: Nonsurgical treatment in elite overhead athletes with SLAP lesion should be considered as a treatment option.
This study was a secondary data analysis conducted to identify the factors affecting the health-related quality of life according to the stress perception level of middle-aged. Data from the 2014, 2016, and 2018 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were used, and 7,995 people aged 40-64 who answered the level of stress perception were targeted. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS ver.25.0, and the significance level was set to .05. As a result of the study, in the feeling less stressed group, household income level, education level, frequency of dinning out, drinking amount at a time, smoking, subjective health, and depression were found to be significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 21.4% (p < .001). In the feeling a lot stressed group, household income level, education level, living with a spouse, weekly breakfast frequency, aerobic physical activity, smoking, subjective health, and depression were significant influencing factors, and the explanatory power was 38.7% (p < .001). Therefore, it is suggested to consider each influencing factor in the middle-aged stress reduction intervention.
Objectives : To investigate the fatigue subjective symptoms and VDT related risk factors in bank workers. Methods : A total of 2178 workers (62.8% male, 37.2% female) were surveyed with a self-administered and structured questionnaire consisting of 30 fatigue symptoms and other VDT related factors regarding work characteristics, work postures, work environments, personal medical histories, etc. Fatigue subjective symptoms were divided into 3 groups of 10 questions each: a dull, drowsy and exhausted feeling (Group I), a mental decline of working motivation (Group II), or a feeling of incongruity in the body and dysfunction of autonomic nervous system (Group III). Each question was weighted as 0 for 'none', 1 for 'sometimes', and 2 for 'always'. Results : Mean age was $35.8{\pm}7.2$ years ($38.9{\pm}6.0$ in males, $30.6{\pm}5.8$ in females), Mean work duration was $7.7{\pm}7.1$ years ($8.4{\pm}7.4$ in males, $6.5{\pm}6.4$ in females). Mean symptom score in males was $11.0{\pm}8.1$ ($4.9{\pm}3.1$ in Group I, $3.0{\pm}3.1$ in Group II, $3.1{\pm}2.8$ in Group III) and in females was $17.5{\pm}9.5$ ($7.0{\pm}3.8$ in Group I, $4.6{\pm}3.5$ in Group II, $5.9{\pm}3.4$ in Group III). Mean scores were higher in the order of Group I>III>II. Females had significantly higher scores than males in all three groups (p<0.001). Most common symptoms complained of as 'always' or 'sometimes' were feel strained in the eyes' (85.4%) among Group I, 'find difficulty in thinking'(54.2%) among Group II, and 'feel stiff in the shoulders (72.3%) among Group III. In multiple regression analysis, female, non-straight spine at workstation, more VDT work hours, history of physical therapy, glare of screen, overtime work, young age, and non-horizontal elbow position were significantly related with high score of symptoms. Conclusions : More supportive VDT work environment and education for correct work postures for VDT workers are recommended.
The purpose of this study was to enhance soldiers' oral health level and to offer basic data on controlling and preventing halitosis. It surveyed halitosis-related elements and analyzed relationship between subjective self-perception level of halitosis according to it targeting 253 soldiers in their 20s in some areas of Seoul from September 2012 to October. Thus, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. As for subjects' self-perception of halitosis, the perception status of oral health was indicated to be 'very bad' and to be shown most highly in one place. It was indicated to be high in the group of feeling Xerostomia much and the group of often feeling the white membrane of tongue. The statistically significant difference was shown(p<0.01). 2. Subjects' self-perception of halitosis was indicated to be the highest in the group with the largest intake of snacks. It was shown to be the highest in the group of having sinus infection and rhinitis. It was indicated to be the highest in the group of having a habit of oral respiration. Significant difference was shown(p<0.05). 3. Subjects' self-perception of halitosis was indicated to be lower in the group, which ever received oral health education, than the group in opposite case. Significant difference was shown(p<0.05).

The state of mental health showed statistically significant (p<. 01) the degree of non-working housewives group (Mean 7.36) was higher than that of working housewives (Mean 5.52). 3. The correlation between stressful life events and state of mental health showed natural in both non-Working housewives group (r=.497, p<.001) and working housewives (r=.532. p<.000), so increased stress is related to lower mental health. 4. The degree of stressful life events based on social psychological factor, showed statistically significant (p<.05) in the feeling of life, and the state of mental health was statistically significant in the part of feeling of life (p<.05) and subjective health state (p=.000)
Objectives : Zizyphus seed has long been used in hypnotics and sedatives in oriental medicine, and it is reported that the Zizyphus seed elicited a variety of pharmacological actions besides CNS depression. We did a clinical study on the effectiveness of Zizyphus seed (Ansim-san) for insomnia in stroke patients. Methods : To 41 stroke patients suffering from insomnia, we administered the extract of Zizyphus seed (Ansim-san). Outcome measures were subjective in nature and included a morning questionnaire, visual analog scales, and observation forms by study personnel. We also, to find the applicable symptom-complex of Zizyphus seed (Ansim-san), examined accompanying symptoms. Results : 1. Zizyphus seed extract use meant that sleep latency was shorter, total sleep time was longer, number of wakenings was lower, wake time during sleep was shorter, sleep quality was improved, condition upon awakening was improved, ability to concentrate was improved, and the patients fell asleep more easily (P<0.001). There were no differences in morning sleepiness. 2. Among accompanying symptoms, an oppressed feeling in the chest was significant (P=0.035) in the patients who improved sleep quality. Conclusions : The results of this clinical study suggest that in stroke patients, Zizyphus seed (Ansim-san) can be effective for insomnia, and significantly effective in patients who have an oppressed feeling in the chest.
The purpose of this study was to analyze and determine the relationship between physiological responses including blood flow rate and garment pressure, and the feeling of restrictive tightness associated with the wearing skinny pants as a popular clothing style. Evaluation was based on material type, posture and activity type, and body part location. Five female college students took part in this research. Five kinds of experimental clothes with waist measurements of 66cm were chosen. An analysis of the selected skinny pants demonstrated the degree of the whole looseness was higher in this order: clothing type A>B>D>C, and E with E being knitted cloth. Garment pressure was the highest in the front knee portions and was lowest in the outside thigh region. Garment pressure was highest in this sequence : clothing type C>=D>A>=B>E. In terms of posture and activity types, garment pressure was the highest when research participants were crouching, and was the lowest when standing. The blood flow rate was highest in this order: clothing type E>D>B>A>C. Type C skinny pants impeded blood flow and demonstrated the tightest and most restrictive relationship. Blood flow rate varied depending on the type of movement and was highest in this order: getting up, rowing, kicking, jumping and O-shaped leg posture. The results of subjective pressure evaluation demonstrated that pressure was highest in this order: E>=C>B>A>D. These results suggests the need to improve on the patterns and the material design in the area of the front knees. The degree of the looseness when wearing skinny pants did not always correspond to garment pressure or subjective sensation.
