Purpose: This study attempted to describe the essential structure of male students' experience as nursing majors. Method: The data were collected through the in-depth interviews of seven male students majoring in nursing. The analysis of data were made using phenomenological analytic method suggested by Colaizzi(1978). Result: In this study, five essential themes emerged. They are: $\ulcorner$Strong initial -though subsequently declining- hesitation over choice of major$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Challenging, ongoing effort to survive in an environment of new and unaccustomed experiences and relationships$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Recurring sense of reassurance and relief upon occasions of unexpected success$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Growing internalization and acceptance of their role as nursing students or as future nurses$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Ambivalent feelings resulting from the contradiction between their vision concerning their future as nurses and their worry concerning their future as male nurses$\lrcorner$Conclusion: With an increasing number of male students majoring in nursing, this study will prove helpful not only in understanding male students' experience while majoring in nursing but also in describing their needs for systemic and emotional support.

The new way of doing education in cyber space is not limited by time or locations. The students do not need to attend classroom physically on time. Networked computers allow students to study their subjects at any time and any where. This study tries to probe the relationships among demographic variables and instructional variables with students satisfaction in the management education. Pervious studies found out that the critical success factors of cyber educations are based on the demographic and instructional variables. The results of the study demonstrate that demographic variables are not significantly related with students satisfaction. Rather instructional variables such as personal interactions with professors, job related contents and careful reduction of difficulties countered during the class proceeding are more significantly related with learning satisfaction. The result shows the newly emerged internet based education system requires in-depth collaborations and coordination among professors, system engineers, education instrument designers, and students.
Given the importance of understanding the equal sign in developing early algebraic thinking, this paper investigated how a total of 695 students in grades 2~6 understood the equal sign. The students completed a questionnaire with three types of items (equation structure, equal sign definition, and open equation solving) based on the construct map by four different levels of understanding the equal sign. The questionnaire was analyzed by Rasch model. The results showed that about 80% of the students were at least Level 3 which means a basic relational understanding of the equal sign. However, the success rates varied across grades and it was noticeable that about 70% of the second graders remained at Level 1 or 2 which maintains an operational understanding of the equal sign. The results of item types demonstrated that item difficulty for the advanced relational thinking was the highest and this is the same even for the Level 4 students. This paper is expected to investigate elementary school students' understanding of the equal sign and provide implications of how to deal with the equal sign in the elementary school.

Software education is inevitable for the success of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and university education also requires innovation to cope with revolutionary change of the society. The number of students seeking employment in the IT field is steadily increasing regardless of the major of the student. However, the existing software-related courses offered by universities or private educational institutions are limited. This paper analyzes the existing software curriculum of several major universities for non-IT major students. In addition, in-depth surveys by students at Seoul Theological University is conducted to figure out the demand for the advanced level computer science subjects. Finally, new software education curriculum is proposed to fulfill the needs of non-IT major students and to improve the employment rate of non-IT major students seeking tech companies. The new curriculum will help to cultivate intermediate level IT experts that bridge the gap between advanced level IT experts and primitive level computer technicians.
This research emphasized that the importance of Social Support and verify the effects of Social Support on Subjective Well-Being through Achievement Motivation. In addition, the mediating role of Achievement Motivation was clearly identified as a key variable that can lead to Subjective Well-Being. To achieve this purpose of research, an empirical analysis was conducted on Chinese students attending domestic universities. Through empirical analysis, it was found that Social Support improve Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure. Furthermore, Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure were found to increase the level of Subjective Well-Being. Furthermore, in the relationship between social support and subjective well-being, verification of individual mediating effects and multi-parameter effects of Motivated Success and Motivated Avoid Failure showed that only the motivation for success has a partial mediating effect. Finally, practical implications from this study were presented and future research directions were discussed.

The study proposes an exploratory analysis on the success of animation films in Korea industry. It identifies animation films that have been successful in the Korean film industry during 2004-2013 period and explores (1) how the number of screens allocated to the films have been changed; (2) what are the major factors that influence the success of the films; (3) what are the differences between Japan and the US animation in terms of plots and genres; and (4) how the characteristics of the US animations are related to the success of the US market, the global market, and Korean market. Analyses show that the number of screens allocated to the animation films has been consistently increased due to the vertical integration of Korean film industry; and the (FTA) period, months in year (summer and winter break months for middle and high school students), and the number of screens allocated to the films were the major factors influencing the financial success of animations. It also finds that specific characteristics embedded in its own cultural trait were shown in the plots and genres in the animations. Lastly the study also finds that specific set of characteristics extracted from IMDB site influence certain markets. Budgets and actor's power were found to influence the success in the US market while period (pre-FTA, FTA, post-FTA) only influence the success in Korean market. The study points out that the success of the US and Japan animations in Korean film industry are due to the historicity of animation cultures which are not found in Korean animation industry.
This study aims to investigate the differences between gifted students and general students in elementary school by comparing their attribution tendency and self-regulated learning strategy and verify the attribution tendency and self-regulated learning strategy of gifted students in elementary school. The subjects of this study were 105 gifted students in the fifth and sixth grades from the gifted education center and 105 general students in the fifth and sixth grades. The study findings were as follows: First, The gifted students showed a higher score on the success attribution while the general students showed a higher score on the failure attribution Second, the gifted students showed a higher score on all over the self-regulated learning strategy with its subordinate factors. Third, the gifted students in humanity showed a higher score on the control factor of cognitive strategy, the gifted students in mathematics on the action control factor of motive strategy and the gifted students in science on the other subordinate factors and all over the self-regulated learning strategy. Fourth, the boys showed a higher score on the factor of action control while the girls on all the other subordinate factors and all over the self-regulated learning strategy.
This small-scale research project attempts to describe and explore the Korean students' perspectives on oral classroom interaction in a second language classroom in a graduate course in America. Based on the interpretist paradigm, this study employed the qualitative research methodology, triangulating the following methods: class observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings are that the Korean participants perceived the importance of oral classroom interaction in an American classroom, and that there were shared several factors which influence their participation such as socio-cultural differences, course content, English skills, course requirement, and classroom activity types. Based upon the findings, pedagogical implications are provided for the teachers to help Korean students achieve academic success in American universities.
Universities are now operating in a post-globalized world. They need to be locally engaged while globally visible for continued success. Specific strategies include 1) unbundling education using fractal modules approach to facilitate more flexible and customized learning expectations of net generation of students; 2) open-source software and hardware platforms to facilitate collaborations around a short or multi-year, multidisciplinary brain stretching projects motivated by the real world challenges; 3) new courses on innovation and entrepreneurship to nurture experience seeking and enterprising mindset of students; 4) cross-border university- public- private partnerships for developing solutions specific to the local needs and can be scalable for the world; and 5) encouraging faculty members with glocal mindset.
I aim to discover that how greatly the curriculum of Life Dance department has had an effect on the career of students majoring in dance, with research objects being Life Dance department of two universities, located on the metropolitan area. The study method, called qualitative, includes some suggestions on the curriculum of the two and comparison, analysis of job-related materials; further, it involves discussion on the influence the curriculum has had on the career as dance trainers. The results from it are as follows; first, the curriculum of the department mostly consists of pure art such as Korean dance, modern dance, ballet, but has few creative life dance programs. Second, the employment into the art area has been more often than to the counterpart. Finally, it shows that a title of a department does not make a big difference and affect the employment rate. In conclusion, as the completion of the curriculum does not always guarantee a success, it is recommended that college students get some competent certificates related to dance.
