A novel method for extracting frequency slippage signal from radar full pulse sequence is presented. For the radar full pulse sequence received by radar interception receiver, radio frequency (RF) and time of arrival (TOA) of all pulses constitute a two-dimensional information sequence. In a complex and intensive electromagnetic environment, the TOA of pulses is distributed unevenly, randomly, and in a nonstationary manner, preventing existing methods from directly analyzing such time series and effectively extracting certain signal features. This work applies Gaussian noise insertion and structure function to the TOA-RF information sequence respectively such that the equalization of time intervals and correlation processing are accomplished. The components with different frequencies in structure function series are separated using empirical mode decomposition. Additionally, a chaos detection model based on the Duffing equation is introduced to determine the useful component and extract the changing features of RF. Experimental results indicate that the proposed methodology can successfully extract the slippage signal effectively in the case that multiple radar pulse sequences overlap.

In developing an automated surface inspect algorithm, we have designed a hierarchical classifier using neural network. The defects which exist on the surface of cold mill strip have a scattering or singular distribution. We have considered three major problems, that is preprocessing, feature extraction and defect classification. In preprocessing, Top-hit transform, adaptive thresholding, thinning and noise rejection are used Especially, Top-hit transform using local minimax operation diminishes the effect of bad lighting. In feature extraction, geometric, moment, co-occurrence matrix, and histogram ratio features are calculated. The histogram ratio feature is taken from the gray-level image. For defect classification, we suggest a hierarchical structure of which nodes are multilayer neural network classifiers. The proposed algorithm reduced error rate by comparing to one-stage structure.
Laser scanned lidar data record 3D surface information in detail. Exploring valuable spatial information from lidar data is a prerequisite task for its applications, such as DEM generation and 3D building model reconstruction. However, the inherent spatial information is implicit in the abundant, densely and randomly distributed point cloud. This paper proposes a novel method to organize point cloud data, so that further analysis or feature extraction can proceed based on a well organized data model. The principle of the proposed algorithm is to segment point cloud into 3D planes. A split and merge segmentation based on the octree structure is developed for the implementation. Some practical airborne and ground lidar data are tested for demonstration and discussion. We expect this data organization could provide a stepping stone for extracting spatial information from lidar data.
To extract the depth map from a single image, a number of CNN-based deep learning methods have been performed in recent research. In this study, the GAN structure of Pix2Pix is maintained. this model allows to converge well, because it has the structure of the generator and the discriminator. But the convolution in this model takes a long time to compute. So we change the convolution form in the generator to a depthwise convolution to improve the speed while preserving the result. Thus, the seven down-sizing convolutional hidden layers in the generator U-Net are changed to depthwise convolution. This type of convolution decreases the number of parameters, and also speeds up computation time. The proposed model shows similar depth map prediction results as in the case of the existing structure, and the computation time in case of a inference is decreased by 64%.
Fonts have developed as a visual element, and their influence has rapidly increased around the world. Research on font automation is actively being conducted mainly in English because Hangul is a combination character and the structure is complicated. In the previous study to solve this problem, the stroke element of the character was automatically extracted by applying the object detection by component. However, the previous research was only for similarity, so it was tested on various print style fonts, but it has not been tested on other characters. In order to extract the stroke elements of all characters and fonts, we performed a performance analysis experiment according to the expansion character in the Hangul stroke element extraction training. The results were all high overall. In particular, in the font expansion type, the extraction success rate was high regardless of having done the training or not. In the character expansion type, the extraction success rate of trained characters was slightly higher than that of untrained characters. In conclusion, for the perfect Hangul stroke element extraction model, we will introduce Semi-Supervised Learning to increase the number of data and strengthen it.
In multi-dimensional image, ICA-based feature extraction algorithm, which is proposed in this paper, is for the purpose of detecting target feature about pixel assumed as a linear mixed spectrum sphere, which is consisted of each different type of material object (target feature and background feature) in spectrum sphere of reflectance of each pixel. Landsat ETM+ satellite image is consisted of multi-dimensional data structure and, there is target feature, which is purposed to extract and various background image is mixed. In this paper, in order to eliminate background features (tidal flat, seawater and etc) around target feature (laver farm) effectively, pixel spectrum sphere of target feature is projected onto the orthogonal spectrum sphere of background feature. The rest amount of spectrum sphere of target feature in the pixel can be presumed to remove spectrum sphere of background feature. In order to make sure the excellence of feature extraction method based on ICA, which is proposed in this paper, laver farm feature extraction from Landsat ETM+ satellite image is applied. Also, In the side of feature extraction accuracy and the noise level, which is still remaining not to remove after feature extraction, we have conducted a comparing test with traditionally most popular method, maximum-likelihood. As a consequence, the proposed method from this paper can effectively eliminate background features around mixed spectrum sphere to extract target feature. So, we found that it had excellent detection efficiency.

In this paper, a new extraction algorithm for artificial structure in 3D cloud points of terrestrial LIDAR is described, considering that various obstacles in terrestrial LIDAR make it difficult to apply conventional algorithms which are designed for air-born LIDAR data. Firstly we use the R, G, B color information from the terrestrial LIDAR data to discriminate among the massive 3D cloud points. Hough transform is then applied to estimate the straight lines that correspond to the target structure. Finally, the structure is extracted by comparing the distance between the estimated line and 3D cloud points. The proposed algorithm is efficient in the sense that it requires the user interaction only when the reference colors are obtained. Computer simulation shows the performance to be quite satisfactory.

In this paper, we propose a method for extracting predominant melody of polyphonic music based on harmonic structure. Since polyphonic music contains multiple sound sources, the process of melody detection consists of extraction of multiple fundamental frequencies and determination of predominant melody using those fundamental frequencies. Harmonic structure is an important feature parameter of monophonic signal that has spectral peaks at the integer multiples of its fundamental frequency. We extract all fundamental frequency candidates contained in the polyphonic signal by verifying the required condition of harmonic structure. Then, we combine those harmonic peaks corresponding to each extracted fundamental frequency and assign a rank to each after calculating its harmonic average energy. We finally run pitch tracking based on the rank of extracted fundamental frequency and continuity of fundamental frequency, and determine the predominant melody. We measure the performance of proposed method using ADC 2004 DB and 100 Korean pop songs in terms of MIREX 2005 evaluation metrics, and pitch accuracy of 90.42% is obtained.

Near targets in the infrared (IR) images have the steady feature for inner region and the transient feature for the boundary region. Based on these features, this paper proposes a new method to extract the fine target shape of near targets in the IR images. First, we detect the boundary region of the candidate targets using the local variance weighted information entropy (WIE) of the original images. And then, a coarse target region can be estimated based on the labeling of the boundary region. For the coarse target region, we use the opening filter with an adaptive structure element to extract the fine target shape. The decision of the adaptive structure element size is optimized for the width information of target boundary by calculating the average WIE in the enlarged windows. The experimental results show that a proposed method has better extraction performance than the previous threshold algorithms.
Physiologically active material ${\beta}$-glucan extracted from mushroom has an antitumor effect. Agaricus blazei murill(A blazel) fruiting bodies were reported to contain large amounts of ${\beta}$-glucan. The purpose of this study was to maximize ${\beta}$-glucn extraction from A. blazei by microwave assisted extraction method. Optimal extraction conditions were obtained under various extraction time and applied power which was examined as 200, 500 and 650 watt. The structure and concentrations of the raffinates were analyzed by nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(NMR) and infrared spectroscopy(IR) It was proved that the extraction yield of microwave assisted extraction method was higher than that of conventional solvent extraction method. It was also observed that microwave assisted extraction method requires less amounts of solvents and extraction time compared to the conventional solvent extraction method.
