중환자실 간호사를 위한 자기주장훈련의 효과 (Effects of Assertiveness Training for ICU Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of assertiveness training on Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurses' assertive behavior, job stress, communication conflict, and self-esteem toward improving their communication skills and coping. Methods: The assertiveness training program was developed to a 10-hour program consisting of 3 sessions. The goals were to understand assertive behavior and learn how to practice assertive communication in general conflict situations and/or a difficult conflict situation in the ICU. Participants were 65 nurses recruited from a tertiary teaching hospital and of these, 27 nurses completed the program. Data were collected from Jan. 30th to Mar. 28th, 2009 using a questionnaire which included demographic characteristics, assertive behaviour scale, job stress scale, communication conflict inventory-specific, and self-esteem scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS v. 14.0 for $x^2$ test and t-test. Results: ICU nurses in the experimental group had a significant increase in aspects of assertive behavior and a decrease in job stress. Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that assertiveness training is effective in increasing ICU nurses' assertive behavior and decreasing job stress through reinforcement of assertiveness behavior.

치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Affecting Clinical Competency of Dental Hygiene Students)

  • 본 연구는 치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 부산광역시와 울산광역시 치위생(학)과 학생들을 대상으로 2015년 3월 2일부터 6월 12일까지 설문조사를 실시하여 총 329부가 분석에 사용되었다. 비판적 사고성향은 셀프리더십(r=0.884), 임상실습 만족도(r=0.876), 임상수행능력(r=0.845)과 양의 상관관계를 나타내었고, 셀프리더십과 임상실습 스트레스(r=-0.796)는 음의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 임상수행능력에 영향을 미치는 요인은 비판적 사고성향(p<0.001), 셀프리더십(p<0.01), 임상실습 만족도(p<0.01)순으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과 치위생(학)과 학생들의 임상수행능력에 비판적 사고성향, 셀프리더십, 임상실습 만족도가 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타나 교육시에 비판적 사고능력과 셀프리더십을 향상시킬 수 있는 교수학습 전략과 교육과정 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 필요가 있다고 생각된다. 나아가 임상실습 만족도를 충족시키고 임상수행능력 정도를 향상시킬 수 있는 보다 체계적이고 융합적인 프로그램 개발에 기초자료로 활용될 것으로 기대된다.

분만간호에 대한 융복합 기반 시뮬레이션 실습 효과 및 요구도 (The needs and effects of convergence-based simulation practice for obstetrical nursing)

  • 본 연구는 분만간호에 대한 융복합 기반 시뮬레이션 실습의 효과 및 요구도를 파악하기 위해 실시하였다. 연구대상은 충남 소재 일개 대학 간호학과에 재학 중인 3학년 학생 47명을 대상으로 하였다. 자료수집은 2012년 2월 13일에서 25일까지 실시하였으며, 자가보고형 설문지를 이용하였다. 분만간호에 대한 융복합 기반 시뮬레이션 실습은 1일 8시간씩 총 2일 동안 4개 영역으로 나누어 실시하였다. 시뮬레이션 실습 후 분만간호에 대한 자기효능감(t=-14.74, p<.001) 및 임상술기능력(t=-17.51, p<.001)이 유의하게 증가하였으며, 실습만족도가 실습스트레스에 비해 높게 나타났다. 시뮬레이션 실습필요도는 10점 만점에 7.96점이었으며, 실습만족도가 높을수록 실습필요도가 높게 나타났고, 임상실습 전에 시뮬레이션 실습을 실시하는 것에 대한 요구도가 임상실습 후 시뮬레이션 실습을 실시하는 것에 비해 높게 나타났다. 따라서 분만간호에 대한 임상실습을 보완하는 방안으로 시뮬레이션 실습을 활용하는 것이 필요하며, 시뮬레이션 실습은 임상실습 전에 실시하고, 시뮬레이션 실습필요도에 대한 학생들의 인식을 증가시키기 위한 전략 수립이 필요하다고 할 수 있다.

지시적 심상요법이 임상 실습시 간호학생의 스트레스와 불안에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Guided Imagery on the Stress and Anxiety of Nursing Students in Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the effects of Guided Imagery on the stress and anxiety of nursing students in clinical practice. Method: The research design was a nonequivalent control group pretest-posttest design. The data were collected from the 20th of June to the 11th of July 2003. The objects of this study were 32 nursing students of college(16 for the experimental group, 16 for the control group). The instruments used in this study were State Trait Anxiety Inventory, the stress scale developed by Choi(1991). The guided imagery was provided through audiotapes to the subjects for 8 minutes, a time for 5 days. The pretest was given before the therapy to measure variables for both groups and the posttest was performed after intervention. The data were analyzed by the SAS program using t-test. Result: The results of this study are as follows. The stress scores of students were decreased in the experimental group, but were not significantly different between the experimental group and the control group after the guided imagery. The anxiety scores of students were significantly different between the experimental group and the control group after the guided imagery. Conclusion: The guided imagery can be suggested as an effective nursing intervention to reduce the anxiety. Further studies to identify the effects of stress reduction according to the frequency of the guided imagery can be needed.

간호대학생을 위한 감성지능 향상 프로그램 개발 및 효과검증: 혼합연구 설계 적용 (Development and Effects of Emotional Intelligence Program for Undergraduate Nursing Students: Mixed Methods Research)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and test the effects of an emotional intelligence program for undergraduate nursing students. Methods: The study design was a mixed method research. Participants were 36 nursing students (intervention group: 17, control group: 19). The emotional intelligence program was provided for 4 weeks (8 sessions, 20 hours). Data were collected between August 6 and October 4, 2013. Quantitative data were analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, t-test, repeated measure ANOVA, and paired t-test with SPSS/WIN 18.0. Qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. Results: Quantitative results showed that emotional intelligence, communication skills, resilience, stress coping strategy, and clinical competence were significantly better in the experimental group compared to the control group. According to the qualitative results, the nursing students experienced improvement in emotional intelligence, interpersonal relationships, and empowerment, as well as a reduction in clinical practice stress after participation in the emotional intelligence program. Conclusion: Study findings indicate that the emotional intelligence program for undergraduate nursing students is effective and can be recommended as an intervention for improving the clinical competence of undergraduate students in a nursing curriculum.

간호대학생의 스트레스, 그릿, 간호전문직관에 관한 연구 (Stress, Grit, and Nursing Professionalism of Nursing College Students)

  • Purpose: This study was a descriptive correlation research to identify the relationships between stress, grit, and nursing professionalism of nursing college students. This correlation study provides fundamental resources for enhancing nursing professionalism. Methods: Data were collected from December 1 to 31, 2019 with 287 students who agreed to participate in the study after completing at least one semester of clinical practice at three universities. SPSS 26.0 was employed to analyze the data using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: The average scores of college-based stress, clinical-based stress, grit, and nursing professionalism were 1.66±0.71 out of 4, 1.51±0.72 out of 4, 3.11±0.60 out of 5, and 3.69±0.47 out of 5, respectively. Stress had a significant negative correlation with grit. Grit had a significant positive correlation with nursing professionalism. On the other hand, there was no statistically significant correlation between stress and nursing professionalism. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that it is necessary to improve nursing students' grit level to develop effective stress management programs, in order to enhance their positive nursing professionalism.

향기요법이 고등학생의 스트레스와 스트레스 반응에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Aromatherapy on Stress and Stress Responses in Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of aromatherapy on stress and stress responses in adolescents. Methods: A two-group cross-over design was used for this study. The experimental treatment was aroma essential oil inhalation and the placebo treatment was carrier oil inhalation using a necklace. The sample included 36 female high school students. Fisher's exact test, t-test, and paired t-test using SPSS/WIN program were used to analyze the data. Results: Stress levels were significantly lower when the students received the aroma treatment compared to when they received the placebo treatment. The stress responses except salivary IgA levels were significantly lower when the students received the aroma treatment. Conclusion: Aroma inhalation could be a very effective stress management method for high school students. Therefore, it is recommended that this program be used in clinical practice as an effective nursing intervention for high school students.

간호대학생의 임상실습 시 경험한 언어폭력, 학업스트레스 대처 및 우울이 전문직 자아개념에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Verbal Violence in Clinical Practice, Academic Stress Coping, and Depression on Professional Self-concepts among Korean Nursing Students)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 간호대학생을 대상으로 임상실습 시 경험한 언어폭력, 감정반응, 학업스트레스 대처 및 우울이 전문직 자아개념에 미치는 영향을 파악하기 위함이다. 자료 수집은 C시 소재의 4년제 종합대학에 재학 중인 3-4학년 간호대학생을 대상으로 2017년 10월 25일부터 11월 1일까지 자가 보고식 설문조사로 시행되었다. 연구결과, 임상실습 시 언어폭력을 경험한 적이 있는 대상자는 41.9%로, 언어폭력 경험 횟수는 1회 16.9%, 2회 15.5%, 3회 4.7% 순이었다. 언어폭력 가해자는 환자 42.9%, 간호사 37.7%, 보호자 15.5% 순이었다. 대상자의 언어폭력 경험 시 감정반응은 언어폭력 경험 횟수 (r=.16, p=.049) 및 우울(r=.39, p<.001)과 양의 상관관계를 보였으며, 학업스트레스 대처는 우울과 음의상관관계가 있고(r=-.19, p=.021), 전문직 자아개념과는 양의 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다(r=.46, p<.001). 우울은 전문직 자아개념과 음의 상관관계가 있었다(r=-.38, p<.001). 회귀분석 결과, 학업스트레스 대처(${\beta}=.40$, p<.001)와 우울(${\beta}=-.32$, p<.001)이 간호대학생의 전문직 자아개념에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치는 변수로 나타났으며, 이들 변인은 간호대학생의 전문직 자아개념에 대해 28%의 설명력을 가지고 있었다(F=12.37, p<.001). 그러므로 간호대학생의 전문직 자아개념 향상을 위해, 학업스트레스 대처 수준을 높이고, 우울을 감소시킬 수 있는 전략 마련이 요구된다. 특히 임상실습 시 경험하는 우울을 조절하기 위해 이와 관련있는 언어폭력 후 감정반응에 대한 적절한 치료적 중재 적용이 도움이 될 것이다.

난임 부부의 섭생 지도 항목과 중요도에 대한 한의사 대상 설문조사 (A Survey of Korean Medical Doctors on the Items and Importance of Lifestyle Management for Infertile Couple)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to reflect Korean Medicine doctors (KMD)' perception of lifestyle management in the process of developing a Korean Medicine (KM) Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) of female infertility. Methods: We sent four e-mails containing links to online questionnaires to 25,286 KMD belonging to the Association of Korean Medicine. The questionnaire consisted of sexual intercourse, weight, diet, exercise, drinking, smoking, caffeine intake, stress etc. KMD responded to self-administered questionnaires, and we analyzed 786 responds. Results: KMD put stress first among the infertile women's lifestyle management items, weight and sexual intercourse were next. Also KMD put stress first among the spouses' lifestyle management items, drinking and sexual intercourse were next. In relation to sexual intercourse, 'Recognizing the Fertile Window' was the most important. In relation to stress in the emotional domain, 'Depression' and 'Anxiety' were the most important, and in relation to stress in the relationship domain, 'Deteriorating of marital relationship' was the most important. Conclusions: We surveyed the status of KMD' awareness of infertility lifestyle management for patient education, and reflected it in the modification of the CPG for female infertility.

간호학생의 임상실습 중 환자의 죽음 경험 (Nursing Students' Experiences with Patient Deaths during Clinical Practice)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore nursing students' experiences with patient deaths during clinical practice. Methods: The participants were ten nursing students who had experienced patient deaths during clinical nursing practice at a university hospital in Korea. Individual in-depth interviews were conducted, and the data were analyzed using the content analysis method suggested by Graneheim and Lundman (2004). Results: The participants' experience was structured into six categories: experiencing various emotions in facing patient deaths, viewing oneself as a nursing student at the scene of a patient's death, thinking about death again, finding a pathway of understanding and support for patient death experiences, impressions and regret felt while actually observing terminal care, and picturing oneself as a future nurse dealing with a patient's death. Conclusion: Based on this study, stress management and self-reflection programs are suggested for nursing students who have experienced patient deaths. Practical nursing education for patient death and end of life care is also needed.
