From the results of analysis the apparel store service quality were classified into four dimenstions ; salesperson(7 items) VMD(6 items) reliable policy(5 items) and customer convenience (3 items)
The purpose of this study was to examine a path analysis of perceived service quality, store image, alternative store attraction, consumer satisfaction and switching barrier perception on store loyalty in apparel product purchasing. The questionnaire was administered to 450 women shopped in a department store in Gwang-ju during September, 12-26, 2002. Data collected from 384 women were analyzed by using frequency, multiple regression analysis, path analysis by SPSS for WIN program. The results were as follows ; First, the switching barrier perception, consumer satisfaction, perceived service quality, store image significantly influenced store loyalty. Second, the consumer satisfaction, perceived service quality, store image, alternative store's attraction significantly influenced switching barrier perception. Third, the perceived service quality, store image, alternative store's attraction significantly influenced consumer satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to investigate competitive structure between the department store and the discount store based on consumers' purchase intention. Female consumers who purchased clothing both in the department store and the discount store participated in the study by completing questionnaires (N=533) . Data were analyzed using factor analyses, paired t-test, Cronbach's $\alpha$, and chi-square analyses. The result was as following: 1 . Overall, the department store and the discount store are competing complementarily. However, this competitive structure varied with clothing items and consumers' age. 2. As a result of factor analyses, the two retailer's service quality could be evaluated with four dimensions: price and A/S, store atmosphere and VMD, store policy, and salesperson. 3. The department store was expected to provide the highest level of service in ‘price and A/S’, ‘store atmosphere and VMD’, ‘salesperson’ whereas the discount store in ‘store policy’ 4. Respondents were classified in four groups according to how frequently they use department store and discount store as following: shopper of both retailers (68.35%), discount store shopper(20.97%), department store shopper(4.70%), shopper of neither retailer(3.97%). Each group showed differences in service satisfaction and demographic characteristics.
As consumers' alternatives in fashion store selection increase, they select different store types to purchase different product types. Therefore, the probability of patronage mix behavior according to product type increases. Understanding consumers patronage mix behavior, finding out the determinant attributes of fashion stores for each product type are important to retailers and marketers for building a successful merchandising and marketing strategies. Most of the previous researches in store selection and patronage assume consumer behavior as single store patronage, and thus relatively little is known about patronage mix behavior. Also, little attention has been given to product characteristics as an important variable in store patronage behavior. The purposes of this study were to determine the effects of product characteristics in consumers patronage mix behavior. In this study, a theoretical model including product characteristics as an intervening variable between store attributes and patronage behavior was developed. A Questionnaire was developed and data were collected form 464 adult women living in Seoul area in Korea. Factor analysis, paired t-test, ANOVA, Duncan test and discriminant analysis were employed to analyze the data. As a result, the suggested model was partially verified. First, the product characteristic was found to have an effect on perceived importance of store attributes and on determinant attributes of stores. Consumers were found to use different evaluative criteria for store attributes when they purchase different product types. Second, the perceived importance of store attributes was determined by consumer characteristics as well as product characteristics. Third, the determinant attributes in store selection were affected not only by the perceived importance of store attributes but also by the type of product to be purchased.
This research examines the impact of brand personality dimensions on store attitude and store loyalty for department stores. A total of 431 customers participated in the online survey. The participants were women in their 20's to 50's with experience of purchasing apparel from four major department stores. The data were analyzed using factor analysis, reliability test, and structural equation modeling with PASW 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. Analyses revealed three dimensions of the brand personality of department stores: prestige, passion, and sincerity. Among the three dimensions of brand personality, 'passion' and 'sincerity' were shown to be the most influential factors affecting department store attitude. The results suggest that passionate and sincere customers tend to exhibit favorable store attitudes. Customers with more favorable store attitudes then are more likely to express great store loyalty than those with less favorable attitudes. An analysis of the effect of brand personality on attitudes toward department stores provides implications for department store brand management strategies.
Consumer evaluate the jeans product by price brand and store because these cues be surrogate indicator that could infer the product quality. But we need to confirm if depending on these cues were rational and this is the goal of this study. method of the study was based on theoretical and empirical study. For empirical study experiments by the subjects among students of Ewha Womans University were done by using jeans as stimulus,. Data was analized by ANOVA factor analysis grouping analysis F-test Pearson's correlation duncan Test and etc 571 data was analyzed of the 600 data. The results of this study are as follows : Evaluation on jeans product were different even though they were exactly the same jeans. Therefore we could confirm the bias by price brand store when consumer evaluate jeans product. Cues like price brand store effected significantly the evaluation of jeans. Quality perception of jeans was most favorable when evaluation cues were combined with high price famous brand and high prestige store. Value perception was favorable when combined with famous brand and high prestige store but value perception on high price became lowe. Purchase intention correlate with value perception and it shows same format with value preception. The most important cue of all three was store the next was price and then brand. These three cues effect the evaluation of jeans product seperately and together.
Purpose - The purpose of the study is to examine the relationships among the following retail operations variables: retail store operations (i.e., store management, sales personnel, promotion of merchandise), success of assortment planning, firm performance (i.e., market share, overall competitive position, profitability, product quality, consumer satisfaction), and retail buyer's demographics and firm's characteristics. Research design, data, and methodology - After conducting a pilot test, the survey was conducted in Seoul, South Korea. With using the listwise deletion method, 378 usable data sets were analyzed. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) methods were employed. Results - As evidenced from the path diagram, the relationship between retail store operations and the success of assortment planning is strong and significant. Retail store operations affect firm performance, though at a weaker significance than it affects the success of assortment planning. The relationship between the success of assortment planning and firm performance, is the strongest relationship observed by this research. Conclusions - The findings of this empirical study contribute to the retail/fashion buying/management field by confirming (a) the importance of assortment planning for retail firm performance and (b) the role of store operations for successful assortment planning and firm performance for fashion retailers.

The results of this study were as follows: 1. After investigating how the make-up preference image influences the selection of the off-line cosmetic store, it was found out that the personal service, shopping convenience, and product composition had significant differences. 2. After investigating how the make-up preference image influences the selection of the on-line cosmetic store, it was found out that only the product composition had significant difference. 3.
