연속류 도로에서 차량의 주행속도 분석을 통한 정지시거 적용 (The Application of Optimum Stopping Sight Distance from Vehicle Driving Speed in Continuous Flow Road)

  • In this study, speed survey has been conducted on Pusan Freeway to identify actual running speed. therefore, suggest that Highway Design Regulations and Highway Design Standard from Ministry of Construction and Transportation, which requires stopping sight distance for 20% less speed when rainy condition in accordance with Highway Safety Act, is not coincident with driver's characteristics. Consequently, it is prudent to compute stopping sight distance with 85th percentile running speed, considering driver's actual behavior and mountainous terrain.

모형기차의 동역학 해석 검증을 위한 실험장치 구성 (Experimental Setup for Dynamic Analysis and Verification of Model Trains)

  • A model trains must have similitude with its original model not only in shape but also in motion. Motion characteristics of a model train under considerations are maximum velocity in straight and circular tracks and stopping distance. Equations of motions are derived to obtain maximum speed and stopping distance based on the Newton's Second Law and the energy principal. To accurately predict traction and resistance force between wheel and rail. wheel slip, or creepage, is taken into consideration. To verify the equations of motion, various experiments have been carried out including measurement of gear efficiency, location of mass center, rolling resistance force, traction force, slip, maximum velocity and stopping distance. This paper addresses how the experiments are setup and carried out in detail. Also the results of experiments are compared with the analytical prediction, which showed good agreements with each other.

몬테카를로 시뮬레이션에 의한 화재열차의 터널 내 정차확률 예측에 관한 연구 (Study on the prediction of the stopping probabilities in case of train fire in tunnel by Monte Carlo simulation method)

  • 철도터널의 방재시설 계획 시 터널의 안전성을 정량적 위험도 평가에 의해서 정량화하여 방재시설의 적정성 여부를 판단하도록 하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 터널화재에 대한 정량적 위험도 평가 시 결과에 크게 영향을 미치는 화재열차의 터널 내 정차확률을 예측하는 방법을 제시하였다. 이를 위해서 열차의 주행저항계수를 고려하여 타력운전거리를 계산하기 위한 모델을 개발하였으며, 타력운전특성과 비상제동거리를 고려하여 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션 기법에 의해 터널연장 및 경사도, 초기주행속도를 변수로 하여 화재열차가 터널에 정차할 확률을 예측하였다. 타력운전거리의 예측을 위한 운동방정식은 KTX II의 주행저항계수를 반영하여 분석하였다. KTX II 열차의 경우, 타력운전거리는 상향경사의 터널에서는 경사도가 증가할수록 감소하나 하향경사구간에서는 정지하지 않고 계속하여 주행이 가능하다. 화재열차의 터널 내 정차확률은 열차의 주행속도가 증가할수록, 경사도가 낮을수록 감소하며, 고속열차(주행속도 250 km/h 이상)는 인적오류를 고려하지 않는 경우, 경사도 0.5% 이하의 터널에서는 화재 시 열차가 터널에 정차할 확률은 0%이고, 경사도가 증가하고 터널연장이 증가하면 정차확률은 급격하게 증가하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • An Anti-lock Brake System ABS is developed to increase the stability of vehicle and to reduce the stopping distance when braking manoeuvres by measuring the wheel and vehicle speed. An ABS mathematical model which describes the dynamics of vehicle and calculate the stopping distance, is explained in this paper. To proceed this study, a mathematical model is produced with simulink software package. Although the model considered here is relatively simple, it retains the essential dynamics of the system.   • In this paper, we investigated the wear rate, braking temperature and stopping distance of the composite brake shoe for diesel locomotive in the field test. The wear rate and braking temperature of the composite brake shoe would rather than cast iron. Also, the stopping distance of composite brake shoe is 450m at 100km/h. This result of field test shown that the density distribution of the composite brake shoe influence on wear rate.

  • For a vehicle Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), the control target is to maintain friction coefficients within maximum range to ensure minimum stopping distance and vehicle stability. But in order to achieve a directionally stable maneuver, tire side forces must be considered along with the braking friction. Focusing on combined braking and turning operation conditions, this paper presents a new control scheme for an ABS controller design, which calculates optimal target wheel slip ratio on-line based on vehicle dynamic states and prevailing road condition. A fuzzy logic approach is applied to maintain the optimal target slip ratio so that the best compromise between braking deceleration, stopping distance and direction stability performances can be obtained for the vehicle. The scheme is implemented using an 8-DOF nonlinear vehicle model and simulation tests were carried out in different conditions. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme is robust and effective. Compared with a fixed-slip ratio scheme, the stopping distance can be decreased with satisfactory directional control performance meanwhile.

장거리 벨트 컨베이어의 기동 및 정지시의 동적거동 해석 (Dynamic Analyis of Long Distance Belt Conveyor During Starting and Stopping)

  • According to the considerable increase of the length of belt conveyors, the dynamic analysis of systme becomes necessary to consider the variation of tensions and transient motion of components during starting and stopping of conveyor. The mathematical model of system is derived using the lumped parameter method. The input driving force is represented with two functions of time and pulley speed to count the characteristics of motor and fluid coupling. An example system was studied with 14 km in the distance of carrying. At head, it has two drivers and one gravity take-up and at tail ond driver and one power winch take-up. In the example, the transient tensions and responses, calculated using two cases of driving force, are mutually compared in starting mode. Also, the position of maximum tension and the braking force of take-up are obtained in stopping mode.

  • Model trains should have very similar motion characteristics to real trains in order to provide realistic feeling to their operators. Main purpose of dynamic analysis of model trains is to predict velocities in straight and circular tracks and estimate stopping distance after power shut off. Equations of motion for a model train are derived that relates velocity, traction, rolling resistance, and pulling force. Also, energy equations for calculating stopping distance after power shut off are derived. Experiments with model trains are preformed to measure velocity, rolling resistance, slip, and stopping distance. The results are compared with the prediction based on the equations of motion, and they showed good agreement. It can be concluded that the prediction is more accurate when the slip between wheel and rail is accounted for. The analysis procedures can be applied to determining various design factors in model trains.

  • 본 연구는 도로 기상정보 시스템(RWIS : Road Weather Information System)에서 수집되는 시정거리와 차량검지기(VDS : Vehicle Detection System)에서 수집되는 속도 자료를 이용하여 교통류 안전성을 판단하였다. 교통류의 안전성 측면에서 시정거리(VD : Visibility Distance)가 정지시거(SSD : Stopping Sight Distance)보다 길어야 이벤트 발생 시 안전하게 정지하거나 위험한 상황을 회피할 수 있다. 운전자에게 사고예방을 위한 능동적 대응이 가능하도록 하는 가치있는 정보를 제공하기 위해 최근접이웃 예측기법(KNN : K-Nearest Neighbors Method)을 활용하였다. 또한, 교통류 안전성에 대한 운전자의 이해도 증진 및 객관성을 위하여 안전성 지표(LOHSI : Level of Hazardous Spacing Index)를 제시하였다. 본 연구결과는 교통류의 안전성 향상을 위한 효율적인 교통운영을 지원 할 수 있을 것이다.

W-CDMA 시스템에서 터보 부호의 새로운 복호지연 감소방식에 관한 연구 (A Study on the New Delay Stopping Criterion of Turbo Code in W-CDMA System)

  • In recent digital communication systems, the performance of Turbo Code used as the error correction coding method depends on the interleaver size influencing the free distance determination and iterative decoding algorithms of the turbo decoder. However, some iterations are needed to get a better performance, but these processes require large time delay. Recently, methods of reducing the number of iteration have been studied without degrading original performance. In this paper, the new method combining ME (Mean Estimate) stopping criterion with SDR (sign difference ratio) stopping criterion of previous stopping criteria is proposed, and the fact of compensating each method's missed detection is verified Faster decoding realizes that reducing the number of iterative decoding about 1~2 times by adopting our proposed method into serially concatenation of both decoder. System Environments were assumed DS-CDMA forward link system with intense MAI (multiple access interference).
