  • 유리밸브는 스프링클러 헤드용으로서 가장 간단하면서도 신뢰성이 높은 기구라 할 수 있다. 본 개발에서 우리는 정밀하게 동작하는 유리밸브를 개발하였다. 유리밸브는 유리앰플과 충진액 그리고 액 내부에 형성된 기포로 구성된다. 개발의 첫 단계는 균일한 유리 앰플의 양산기술 및 설비의 개발이었다. 두 번째 단계는 유리앰플에 충진될 액체의 종류와 형성시킬 기포의 크기에 대한 최적화였다. 액을 충진할 때 균일한 기포크기를 형성시킬 수 있는 양산공정의 개발 역시 어려운 문제 중 하나였다. 개발의 최종 단계는 유리밸브의 표면에 대한 처리를 통해 유리밸브의 파괴역학 제어기술개발이라 할 수 있다.

초미세 결정립을 가지는 몰리브덴의 제조 및 기계적 특성 (Fabrication of Ultra Fine Grained Molybdenum and Mechanical Properties)

  • Mo nanopowder was synthesized by ball-milling and subsequent hydrogen-reduction of $MoO_3$ powder. To fabricate ultra fine grained molybdenum, two-step sintering and spark plasma sintering process were employed. The grain size of specimen by two-step sintering and spark plasma sintering was around $0.6\;{\mu}m$ and $0.4\;{\mu}m$, respectively. Mechanical properties of ultra fine grained Mo with relative density of above 90% were significantly improved at room and high temperatures comparing to commercial bulk Mo of 99% relative density. This result was mainly explained by the grain size refinement due to diffusion-controlled sintering.

An artificial neural network residual kriging based surrogate model for curvilinearly stiffened panel optimization

  • We have performed a design optimization of a stiffened panel with curvilinear stiffeners using an artificial neural network (ANN) residual kriging based surrogate modeling approach. The ANN residual kriging based surrogate modeling involves two steps. In the first step, we approximate the objective function using ANN. In the next step we use kriging to model the residue. We optimize the panel in an iterative way. Each iteration involves two steps-shape optimization and size optimization. For both shape and size optimization, we use ANN residual kriging based surrogate model. At each optimization step, we do an initial sampling and fit an ANN residual kriging model for the objective function. Then we keep updating this surrogate model using an adaptive sampling algorithm until the minimum value of the objective function converges. The comparison of the design obtained using our optimization scheme with that obtained using a traditional genetic algorithm (GA) based optimization scheme shows satisfactory agreement. However, with this surrogate model based approach we reach optimum design with less computation effort as compared to the GA based approach which does not use any surrogate model.

스텝사이즈에 따른 적응 알고리즘을 이용한 간섭제거 중계기 (Interference Cancellation System in Repeater Using Adaptive algorithm with step sizes)

  • 본 논문에서 ICS(Interference Cancellation System) 중계기를 위한 Signed LMS(Least Mean Square) 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 Signed LMS 알고리즘은 스텝 사이즈를 조절함에 따라 성능이 개선된다. 제안된 Signed LMS 알고리즘에서 스텝사이즈가 0.067인 경우 수렴횟수 1000 회 일 때 평균 자승 에러는 기존 CMA 알고리즘보다 약 3 ~ 18 dB정도 더 낮다. 그리고, 평균 자승 에러 -25 dB 일 때 LMS(Least Mean Square)와 CMA보다 수렴횟수가 500 ~ 4000 회 정도 줄어든다.

Influence of the Water Vapor Content on the Hydrogen Reduction Process of Nanocrystalline NiO

  • In this study, the hydrogen reduction behavior of ball-milled NiO nanopowder was investigated depending on the partial pressure of water vapor. The hydrogen reduction behavior was analyzed by thermogravimetry and hygrometry under heating to 873 K in hydrogen. In order to change the partial pressure of the water vapor, the dew point of hydrogen was controlled in the range of 248 K~293 K by passing high-purity hydrogen through a saturator that contained water. Interestingly, with the increase in the dew point of the hydrogen atmosphere, the first step of the hydrogen reduction process decreased and the second step gradually increased. After the first step, a pore volume analysis revealed that the pore size distribution in the condition with a higher water vapor pressure shifted to a larger size, whereas the opposite appearedat a lower pressure. Thus, it was found that the decrease in the pore volume during the chemical reaction controlled process at a dew point of 248 K caused a reduction in retardation in the diffusion controlled process.

상태 추정 필터를 이용한 영상 잡음 제거 (Image Noise Removal using State Estimation Filter)

  • 관제 및 측정 시스템 등에서 고품질 영상을 획득하는 것은 중요한 요소 중 하나이다. 영상 획득 기술 중에서 SFF (Shape from Focus)는 물체를 광축 방향으로 사전에 결정된 스텝 사이즈로 이동시킴으로써 초점 정도가 다른 2D 영상들을 획득함으로써 삼차원 형상을 복원하는 기술이다. SFF를 위해 일정한 스텝 사이즈로 물체를 이동시킬 때 각 스텝에서 광축 방향으로 기계 진동, 즉 지터 노이즈가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이 지터 노이즈의 영향을 줄이기 위해 새로운 상태 추정 필터를 설계 및 적용한다. 제안된 방법의 적용을 위해 지터 노이즈와 초점 커브는 가우시안 함수로써 모델링한다. 실험 결과들을 통해 제안된 방법의 효율성을 증명한다.

AN EFFICIENT AND ACCURATE ADAPTIVE TIME-STEPPING METHOD FOR THE BLACK-SCHOLES EQUATIONS

  • In this article, we propose an efficient and accurate adaptive time-stepping numerical method for the Black-Scholes (BS) equations. The numerical scheme used is the finite difference method (FDM). The proposed adaptive time-stepping computational scheme is based on the maximum norm of the discrete Laplacian values of option values on a discrete domain. Most numerical solvers for the BS equations require a small time step when there are large variations in the solutions. To resolve this problem, we propose an adaptive time-stepping algorithm that uses a small time step size when the maximum norm of the discrete Laplacian values on a discrete domain is large; otherwise, a larger time step size is used to speed up the computation. To demonstrate the high performance of the proposed adaptive time-stepping methodology, we conduct several computational experiments. The numerical tests confirm that the proposed adaptive time-stepping method improves both the efficiency and accuracy of computations for the BS equations.

치과 임플란트 고정체의 여러 가지 제조공정과정에 따른 표면특성 (Surface Characteristics of Dental Implant Fixture with Various Manufacturing Process)

  • In this study, surface characteristics of dental implant fixture with various manufacturing process have been researched using electrochemical methods. The dental implant fixture was selected with 5 steps by cleaning, surface treatment and sterilization with same size and screw structure; the 1st step-machined surface, 2nd step-cleaned by thinner and prosol solution, 3th step-surface treated by RBM (resorbable blasting media) method, 4th step-cleaned and dried, 5th step-sterilized by gamma-ray. The electrochemical behavior of dental implant fixture has been evaluated by using potentiostat (EG&G Co, 2273A) in 0.9% NaCl solution at $36.5{\pm}1^{\circ}C$. The corrosion surface was observed using field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). The step 5 sample showed the cleaner and rougher surface than step 3 sample. The step 5 sample of implant fixture treated by RBM and gamma sterilization showed the low corrosion current density compared to others. Especially, the step 3 sample of implant fixture treated by RBM was presented the lowest value of corrosion resistance and the highest value of corrosion current density. The step 3 sample showed the low value of polarization resistance compared to other samples. In conclusion, the implant fixture treated with RBM and gamma sterilization has the higher corrosion resistance, and corrosion resistance depends on the step of manufacturing process.

EBSD를 이용한 구리박막의 결정립 크기 결정 (Grain Size Determination of Copper Film by Electron Backscatter Diffraction)

  • The grain size of a cross-section of $8{\mu}m$-thick copper film was determined by electron backscatter diffraction analysis. Grain size distribution histogram showed the presence of a large fraction of small-sized grains, and the mean grain size was significantly affected by handling of them. A cut-off grain size, below which all grains are ignored as noise and eliminated for the calculation of the mean value, should be three or four times as large as the step size. Due to the presence of small grains, the linear intercept method derived larger mean grain size, which depends less sensitively on the cut-off grain size than the equivalent circle diameter method.

한일 김산업의 발전과정 분석과 당면과제 연구 (The Research on the Development Steps and Facing Problems of Korean and Japanese Laver Industry)

  • The laver has been cultivated long time ago by Korea and Japan. Korean Laver Industry has been influenced by Japan on the many factors since 20th. Nevertheless now the both country showed widening disparities across the aspect of total Laver Industry each other. The development steps of Korea and Japan Laver Industry have been advanced differently. That is, we can keep the Laver Industry development steps of both countries separate by 4 steps. But insignificant of every step against both countries has been dissimilar. We can separate from 4 steps in Korea, 1 step is origin period from beginning of laver cultivation to 1961. Next step is First Development period from 1962 to 1978. This period come out production increase from about 10,000 tons early 1960 to 50,000 tons late 1970. Next step is Second Development period from 1979 to 2000. This period come out eminent production increase from about 50,000 tons early 1980 to 200,000 tons late 1990. Next step is Stabilization period from 2001 to now. This period come out production control the size of its production and enlargement of Laver Export. We can also separate from 4 steps in Japan, 1 step is origin period from beginning of laver cultivation to 1944. Next step is Development period from 1945 to 1975. This period come out production increase from about 4 billion sheets early 1960 to 8.5 billion sheets 1975. Next step is Peak period from 1976 to 1982. This period come out sustainable production peak by 6~8 billion sheets and high price. Next step is Decline period from 1983 to now. This period come out production control the size of its production and sustainable price down. These differences showed out facing problems of Korean and Japanese Laver Industry differently. In case of Korea, the facing problems show out 3. First is structural problem, for example, trouble between original laver producer and the finished producer by dry laver products. Second is Insufficiency of Plants Protection System. Third is low quality of Laver. In case of Japan, the facing problems also show out 3. First is sustainable decrease of laver consumption. Second is change of mind against laver, for example, the change of the propensity to consume, and decrease of brand power. Third is Influence of global system. The difference of development steps of Korea and Japan Laver Industry show out 2 point of view to us. First we need consider positive strategy against laver production system of enlargement. Second, we need consider separate strategy against high quality laver and low quality laver.
