Development of the Abstract Test Cases of Ship STEP

  • Ship STEP(Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data) which is composed of AP 215 (Ship Arrangement), AP 216(Ship Hull Form), AP 218 (Ship Structure), has been developed more than last 10 years and it is now at the stage just before IS(International Standard). It is expected that ship STEP would be used for the seamless data exchange among various CAD/CAM/CAE systems of shipbuilding process. In this paper the huge and complicated data structure of ship STEP is briefly reviewed at the level of ARM(Application Reference Model) and some abstract test cases which will be included as part of the standards are introduced. Basically ship STEP has common data model to be used without losing compatibility among those three different ship AP's, and it is defined as the modeling framework. Typical cases of data exchange during shipbuilding process, such as hull form data exchange between design office and model basin, midship structure data between shipbuilding yard and classification society are reviewed and STEP physical data are generated using commercial geometric modeling kernel. Test cases of ship arrangement at initial design stage and hydrodynamic data of crude oil carrier are also included.

SHACAL의 축소 라운드에 대한 확장된 부메랑 공격 (Amplified Boomerang Attack against Reduced-Round SHACAL)

  • SHACAL은 NESSIE 프로젝트에 발표된 블록 암호로서 국제 해쉬 표준인 SHA-1에 기반한다. SHACAL은 XOR 연산, 덧셈에 대한 modular 연산 및 비트별 계산 가능한 부울 함수를 사용한다. 이러한 연산들과 부울 함수의 사용은 차분 공격을 어렵게 만든다. 즉, 비교적 높은 확률을 가지는 긴 라운드의 차분 특성식을 찾기 힘들게 한다. 그러나 SHACAL은 높은 확률의 짧은 차분 특성식들을 가지고 있으며, 이를 이용하여 36-step 부메랑 distinguisher를 꾸밀 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 36-step 부메랑 distinguisher를 이용하여 다양한 키 길이를 가지는 SHACAL의 축소된 라운드에 대한 확장된 부메랑 공격을 소개한다. 공격 결과를 요약하면 256 비트 키를 사용하는 39-step SHACAL과 512 비트 키를 사용하는 47-step SHACAL은 확장된 부메랑 공격이 가능하다.

강원도 춘천시 근교의 산지계류에 형성된 계단상 하상구조의 특징 (The Morphologic Characteristics of Step-pool Structures in a Steep Mountain Stream, Chuncheon, Gangwon-do)

  • 강원도 춘천시 근교의 강원대학교 산림환경과학대학 학술림 내의 산지계류를 대상으로 계단상 하상구조의 기하학적 특성과 이에 대한 계류 지형인자들과의 관계를 분석하였다. 조사구간에 형성된 스텝의 간격, 높이 및 낙차의 평균값은 각각 4.69 m, 0.47 m 및 0.71 m, 스텝의 구성입경은 평균 0.68 m, 스텝의 형성개수는 100 m당 평균 21 개인 것으로 나타났다. 스텝의 간격은 하폭대비 약 0.5로 선행연구들에 비해 작은 것으로 나타났으며, 스텝의 기울기는 평균 0.13이었다. 스텝의 각 기하학적 특성과 하폭과의 사이에는 모두 상관관계가 존재하지 않았으나, 스텝의 간격과 높이는 하상경사와 각각 부 정의 상관관계를 나타내었다. 또한 스텝의 기울기는 하상경사와 정의 상관을 보였고, 하상경사와의 비가 1.2로 나타나 유수에 대한 최대저항조건을 만족하며 비교적 안정상태를 유지하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히 하상경사는 계단상 하상구조의 기하학적 형상(스텝의 낙차와 높이의 비)에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 스텝의 간격과 낙차는 거석의 입경과 모두 정의 상관관계를 보였다. 이러한 결과들로부터 계단상 하상구조의 동태는 산지계류의 물리 생태적 환경에 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단되며, 산지가 대부분인 우리나라의 계류관리에 있어서 특히 중요하게 인식되어야 할 것이다.

The effectiveness of step feeding strategies in sequencing batch reactor for a single-stage deammonification of high strength ammonia wastewater

  • A single-stage deammonification with a sequencing batch reactor (SBR) that simultaneous nitritation, anaerobic ammonia oxidation (anammox), and denitrification (SNAD) occur in one reactor has been widely applied for sidestream of wastewater treatment plant. For the stable and well-balanced SNAD, a feeding strategy of influent wastewater is one of the most important operating factors in the single-stage deammonification SBR. In this study, single-stage deammonification SBR (working volume 30L) was operated to treat a high-strength ammonium wastewater (1200 mg NH4+-N/L) with different feeding strategies (single feeding and nine-step feeding) under the condition without COD. Each cycle of the step feeding involved 6 sub-cycles consisted of aerobic and anoxic periods for partial nitritation (PN) and anammox, respectively. Contrary to unstable performance in the single feeding, the step feeding showed better deammonification performance (0.565 kg-N/m3/day). Under the condition with COD, however, the nitrogen removal rate (NRR) decreased to 0.403 kg-N/m3/day when the Nine-step feeding strategies had an additional denitrification period before sub-cycles for PN and anammox. The NRR was recovered to 0.518 kg-N/m3/day by introducing an enhanced multiple-step feeding strategy. The strategy had 50 cycles consisted of feed, denitrification, PN, and anammox, instead of repeated sub-cycles for PN and anammox. The multiple-step feeding strategy without sub-cycle showed the most stable and excellent deammonification performance: high nitrogen removal efficiency (98.6%), COD removal rate (0.131 kg-COD/m3/day), and COD removal efficiency (78.8%). This seemed to be caused by that the elimination of the sub-cycles might reduce COD oxidation during aerobic condition but increase the COD utilization for denitrification period. In addition, among various sensor values, the ORP pattern appeared to be applicable to monitor and control each reaction step for deammonification in the multiple-step feeding strategy without sub-cycle. Further study to optimize the number of multiple-step feeding is still needed but these results show that the multiple-step feeding strategy can contribute to a well-balanced SNAD for deammonification when treating high-strength ammonium wastewater with COD in the single-stage deammonification SBR.

단계적 택지개발사업에 따른 신교통시스템 적정 도입방안 분석 (Phased Introduction of the New Transportation System under the Step-by-step Land Development Project)

  • 최근 들어 택지개발의 방식은 사회 경제적 여건변화로 인해 과거의 일괄개발에서 단계적 개발로 패러다임이 전환되고 있다. 그럼에도 불구하고 신교통시스템과 같은 대규모 교통시설의 도입은 과거의 일괄개발에 의한 도입방식을 유지하고 있다. 그 결과 신교통시스템은 친환경적인 시스템임에도 불구하고 높은 도입비용으로 계획단계에서 무산되거나 완공된다 하더라도 적자경영을 면치 못하고 있다. 이는 시스템 도입시 지역특성을 반영하지 못한 이유도 있으나, 단계적 개발방식에 대응하지 못한 이유도 크다. 따라서 보다 합리적인 신교통시스템 도입을 위해서는 기존의 일괄도입 방식이 아닌 택지개발의 단계적 개발방식에 상응하는 도입방식이 모색되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 택지개발사업지구가 단계적 개발로 이뤄질 것을 가정하여 일괄 도입과 단계적 도입에 따른 편익 및 경제성 분석을 통해 단계적 도입의 필요성을 제시하고자 하였다. 그 결과 단계적 도입이 일괄 도입에 비해 30% 이상의 B/C 상승효과를 보여 경제성이 개선되는 것으로 나타났으며, 현행의 일괄 개발방식에서의 일괄 도입과 비교하더라도 B/C 개선효과가 있는 것으로 분석되었다.

고추 건조기(乾燥機)의 개발(開發)에 관한 연구(硏究) -시뮬레이션 및 최적화- (Development of Red Pepper Dryer -Simulation and Optimization-)

  • Simulation model was developed to analyze drying process for tray type red pepper dryer and validated by experiments. This model could predict satisfactorily temperatures and moisture contents of red pepper and temperatures of drying air during drying. Optimize algorithm was developed to search control valiables (drying air temperature, air recycle ratio and air flow rate) of red pepper dryer based on a criterion of minimizing energy consumption under the constraint conditions that statisfied carotenoid retension of at least 210mg per 100g dry matter, the moisture content of bottom layer of 15% (d.b) and drying time of less than 35 hours. Step changes in drying air temperature and air recycle ratio were considered in the optimization. In single step in control variables, the difference of the moisture content between top layer and bottom layer was great and more fan power was required. As the drying trays were exchanged when the moisture content of bottom layer reached to 100% (d.b), fifty percent of energy was saved and the difference of moisture content was little. In double step changes in control variables, optimal conditions were found by changing the step when the moisture content of bottom layer reached to 100% (d.b) (about 19.8 hours from starting drying). Optimum air flow rate was $18.1cmm/m^2$. Optimum drying air temperature and air recycle ratio in the first step was $55.8^{\circ}C$ and 0.80, and in the second step $65.6^{\circ}C$ and 0.88, respectively. In triple step changes in control variables, the optimal conditions were found by changing the steps when the moisture content of bottom layer reached to 250% (d.b) and 150% (d.b). Optimal air temperatures were $66.2^{\circ}C$, $58.4^{\circ}C$ and $66.9^{\circ}C$, and optimal air recycle ratios were 0.778, 0.785, 0.862 at each step, respectively. Optimal air flow rate was $18.9cmm/m^2$. The best operating mode was triple step mode considering energy consumption, drying time, fan power, and quality of dried red pepper. When the triple step mode was used to dry the red pepper, the energy consumption was about 16.5%~57.2% less than that of the single step mode and the drying time was 6.6 hours shorter than that of the double step mode.

A SELF SCALING MULTI-STEP RANK ONE PATTERN SEARCH ALGORITHM

  • This paper proposes a new quickly convergent pattern search quasi-Newton algorithm that employs the multi-step version of the Symmetric Rank One (SRI). The new algorithm works on the factorizations of the inverse Hessian approximations to make available a sequence of convergent positive bases required by the pattern search process. The algorithm, in principle, resembles that developed in [1] with multi-step methods dominating the dervation and with numerical improvements incurred, as shown by the numerical results presented herein.

  • We present a new variable step size LMS algorithm using the correlation between reference input and error signal of adaptive filter. The proposed algorithm updates each weight of filter by different step size at same sample time. We applied this algorithm to adaptive multip]e-notch filter. Simulation results are presented to compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with the usual LMS algorithm and another variable step algorithm.
