Factors Affecting In vitro True Digestibility of Napiergrass

  • Changes of in vitro true digestibility (IVTD) of Napiergrass (Pennisetum purpureum) were determined by a filter bag system, and their relationships to chemical composition, leaf to stem ratio, plant height, geographic location, climatic factors and harvest interval were studied and used to develop prediction models for the crude protein (CP), acid-detergent fiber (ADF), and neutral-detergent fiber (NDF) contents and IVTD. Partitioning the total variance of IVTD of Napiergrass showed that 80% was attributable to the effect of harvest interval. Days of growth, plant height, leaf/stem ratio, CP, ADF and NDF of Napiergrass had highly significant relationships (p<0.01) with IVTD. The highest coefficient of correlation between the ADF, NDF, and IVTD of Napiergrass and growth degree days was obtained when the base temperature was set at $0^{\circ}C$. Growth degree days could predict ADF, NDF, and IVTD of Napiergrass more accurately than plant height, and plant height is not suitable to predict IVTD.

야간온도에 따른 토마토묘와 수박 접목묘의 생육과 생육지표간 상대적 관계 (Changes in Growths of Tomato and Grafted Watermelon Seedlings and Allometric Relationship among Growth Parameters as Affected by Night Temperature)

  • 작물의 묘소질은 정식 후 본포에서의 생육이나 수량, 품질에 영향을 미치기 때문에 작물 재배에서 있어서 육묘는 매우 중요하다. 본 연구는 야간온도 수준을 10, 15, $20^{\circ}C$로 조절하여 토마토묘와 수박 접목묘의 생육에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고 야간온도에 따라 변화된 초장, 건물중, 경경 등의 건묘를 나타내는 중요한 생육지표간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 야간온도 $10^{\circ}C$로 관리하였을 때 토마토묘에서 엽면적지수와 건물중이 다른 처리에 비하여 유의적으로 감소하였으며, 야간온도를 $20^{\circ}C$로 관리하였을 때 수박 접목묘에서 초장이 길어지고 경경이 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 재배기간 동안의 누적온도에 대한 반응은 토마토의 경우 야간온도가 낮을 경우 누적온도가 같더라도 엽면적이 감소되어 결과적으로는 건물중을 감소시켰으며, 수박 접목묘의 경우 초장이 유의적으로 길어졌다. 주요 생육지표간의 상관관계를 살펴보면 토마토묘의 경우 초장과 경경의 경우 온도처리와 상관없이 선형적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타나 묘소질을 판단하기에는 부적절한 것으로 판단되며, 수박 접목묘의 초장과 경경은 야간기온 처리에 따라 달라지며 상관성을 보이지 않았으므로 묘소질을 판단하는데 이용 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

Effect of prohexadium-calcium on growth, lodging and yield of proso millet (Panicum miliaceum L.)

  • The proso millet is vulnerable to lodging due to high plant height and shallow root. A lodging results in a hard mechanical harvesting and yield loss. One of solutions on this problem is inhibition of internode elongation. The objective of this study was to set up use time and dose of prohexadium-calcium, is growth inhibitor. The experimental variety was Ibaekchal. The experiment design was a split-plot design with three replications. The treatments were as follow: Main-plots were 25 and 35 day after sowing(DAS) as use time and sub-plots were 0%, 50%, 100%(diluted solution of 1000 times, $1000{\ell}\;ha^{-1}$), 150% as dose. The amount of nitrogen, phosphate and potassium fertilization were 90, 70, $80kg\;ha^{-1}$, respectively. The size of high ridge and plant spacing were $90{\times}30cm$ and $60{\times}15cm$, respectively. Proso millet was sown on June 9, 2016 by hands and was adjusted at 2 plant per hill. The growth survey of vegetative growth stage was conducted at 1 day before treatment and with one week interval after treatment. Data were collected: (1) grain yield: weight of grain in $kg\;ha^{-1}$, (2) 1000 grain weight: average weight of 1000 grain, (3) plant height: distance from soil to top of panicle or leaf in cm, (4) ear length: distance from top of stem to top of ear in cm, (5) stem diameter: diameter of second internode (6) degree of lodging: percentage of lodging area, etc. Analyses of variance were performed using R version 3.3.1(https://www. r- project. org). The Duncan's multiple range test(DMR) was used to separate treatment means at P < 0.05. There was a significant difference in plant height and number of stem among the use time and dose of prohexadium-calcium during vegetative growth stage. At 25 DAS, the difference with no treatment increased until 25 day after treatment and decreased since then. The difference in number of stem increased until 18 day and decreased since 25 day. At 35 DAS, the difference with no treatment in plant height and number of stem increased until 22 day after treatment and decreased since then. We assumed that the effect of prohexadium-calcium was inhibition of internode elongation and promotion of tillering, continued untel 25day after treatment. At 25 DAS, the degree of lodging deceased to 100%, 30%, 10% and 0% as dose increased. At 35 DAS, the degree of lodging decreased to 100%, 20%, 0% and 0% as dose increased. At 25 DAS, the yield was 2910, 2710, 3190, $2310kg\;ha^{-1}$ among dose. At 35 DAS, the yield was 2750, 2630, 2220, $2050kg\;ha^{-1}$. We recommend that the optimum use time and dose of prohexadium-calcium for proso millet is 1000 times diluted solution of $1000{\ell}$ per ha at 25 day after sowing.

  • An anatomical study was conducted in order to elucidate the development of primary and secondary ray in Robinia pseudoacacia L. The height of primary ray near pith decreases progressively toward periphery, while the width and number per unit area gradually increase, and then the height, width and number remain somewhat constant. Secondary ray originates from the segmentation of fusiform initials or division of the side or end of fusiform initials at the middle of the first growth layer. And after the height and width of secondary ray increases to some extent, it remains constantly.

우리나라 주요 경제수종의 이용재적모델 개발 (Developing Merchantable Stem Volume Models for Major Commercial Species in South Korea)

  • 본 연구는 국내 소나무, 잣나무, 낙엽송을 대상으로 입목의 총재적 중 상부직경 혹은 상부수고까지의 재적을 예측하는 이용재적모델을 개발하고자 수행되었다. 모델개발을 위하여 사용된 자료는 강원 및 경북지역의 소나무림, 잣나무림, 낙엽송림에서 수집한 총 131본의 수간석해목이었으며, 이용재적비율, 단순비율형태, 지수비율형태의 6개 이용재적식을 검토하여 최종모델을 개발하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과, 상부직경까지의 이용재적예측은 지수비율형태인 $V_d=V_t\{{\exp}[{\alpha}_1(d^{{\alpha}_2}/D^{{\alpha}_3})]\}$ 이 상부수고까지의 이용재적예측은 단순비율형태인 $V_h=V_t\{1+{\beta}_1(P^{{\beta}_2}/H^{{\beta}_3})\}$이 최종모델로 선정되었다. 본 연구에서 선정된 2개의 최적모델식을 정리하여 내재간곡선식을 도출하였으며, 이를 활용해 상부직경에 따른 상부수고와 상부수고에 따른 상부직경 예측이 가능하였다. 본 연구결과에서 개발된 모델은 높은 정확도뿐만 아니라 임업현장에서 편리하게 사용할 수 있어 활용도가 높을 것으로 판단된다.

토천궁(土川芎)의 재식밀도(栽植密度)가 생육(生育) 및 수량(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響) (Effect of Planting Density on the Growth and Yield of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort.)

  • 토천궁(土川芎)의 재식밀도(栽植密度)가 생육(生育) 및 수양(收量)에 미치는 영향(影響)을 조사(調査) 분석(分析)하여 재배기술개선(栽培技術改善)을 위한 자료(資料)로 이용(利用)하고자 시험한 결과(結果)를 요약(要約)하면 다음과 같다. 1. 주당(株當) 경수(莖數)와 엽수(葉數), 주경분지수(株莖分枝數)는 밀식(密植)할 수록 감소되었지만 단위면적당 경수(莖數)와 엽수(葉數), 주경분지수(株莖分枝數)는 증가되었다. 2. 경장(莖長)은 밀식(密植)할 수록 커졌으나 $50{\times}10cm$에서는 약간 작아졌으며 경태(莖太)는 재식밀도간(栽植密度間)에 큰 차이가 없었고 지표면에서 1차분지(分枝)까지의 높이는 밀식(密植)할 수록 높아졌으나 유의성은 인정되지 않았다. 3. 지상부(地上部)와 지하부(地下部) 생육특성(生育特性)은 $m^2$당 경수(莖數)가 많으면 주당(株當) 엽수(葉數)와 주경분지수(株莖分枝數)가 적어지고, $m^2$당 경수(莖數)와 엽수(葉數), 주경분지수(株莖分枝數)가 많아지면 지표면에 서의 1차분지착생(分枝着生)높이가 높아졌다. 4. 10a당 근경수양(根莖收量)은 주당(株當) 경수(莖數)와 엽수(葉數)와는 유의적인 부(負)의 상관(相關)이 인정되었으며, $m^2$당 경수(莖數)와 엽수(葉數), 주경분지수(株莖分枝數)와는 유의적인 정(正)의 상관(相關)이 인정되었다. 5. 개체당(個體當) 근경중(根莖重)과 세근중(細根重)은 밀식(密植)할 수록 작아졌으며 10a당 근경(根莖)과 세근(細根)의 수양(收量)은 오히려 밀식(密植)할 수록 증가되었다.

하대두(Glycine max)의 파종기 및 비닐 멀칭재배가 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Polyethylene Film Mulching and Planting Dates on Growth and Yield of Summer Type of Soybean (Glycine max))

  • 하대두형 품종에 대하여 파종기를 달리하고 비닐멀칭을 했을 때 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향을 규명코져 다마미도리 지두를 4월 13일부터 10일 간격으로 4파종기로 하고, 비닐로 멀칭과 무멀칭으로 하여 시험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 출현기는 멀칭을 할 경우 무멀칭에 비하여 촉진되어 4월 13일 파종구는 11일 축진되었다. 개화일수도 멀칭을 할 경우 평균 6일이 단축되었고, 4월 13일 파종구는 12일이 단축되었다. 2. 멀칭구는 무멀칭에 비하여 주경장이 컸으며, 주경절수 및 분지수도 많았을 뿐 아니라. l0a당 건경중도 많았다. 평균 100립중은 차가 없었다. 멀칭의 경우 늦게 파종한 구에서 주경장이 컸고, 주경절수 및 분지수도 많았을 뿐 아니라 건경중도 높았으며, 100립중도 무거웠다. 이러한 현상은 일찍 파종한구에서 미이라병의 리병입률이 높았기 때문이다. 무멀칭의 경우는 멀칭구와 같은 경향을 보이지는 않았다. 3. 멀칭구에서 미이라병의 리병입율이 높으면 자반병 리병입율은 낮아졌다. 무멀칭구는 멀칭구에서와 같은 경향은 보이지 않았다. 4. 멀칭구에서는 무멀칭구보다 평균 20%가 증수되었고, 파종기별로 보면 일찍 파종한 구에서 미이라병에 대한 리병정도가 심하여 수량이 낮았고, 늦게 파종한 구에서 수량이 높았다.

Silage용 옥수수의 품종별 생산성 비교 I. Silage용 옥수수의 생육 특성 및 부위별 건물생산성 (Comparison of Productivity of Various Silage Corn Varieties I. Growth charateristics and dry matter yield of different part of silage corns)

  • Five varieties of silage corn were cultivated to compare the growth characteristics and productivity. Corn varieties were Pioneer 3144(P 3144), 3160(P 3160), 3282(P 3282), 3352(P 3352) and Suweon 19 (S 19). The corns were seeded on May 2 and harvested on August 15, and measured the plant height, leaf length, leaf width, stem diameter, and yields of fresh and dry matter. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Plant height of P 3352 and P 3144 grown about 280cm throughout the experimental period was the tallest(P<.Ol), and those of P 3160, P 3282 and Suweon 19 ranged from 246.3 to 256.0 cm. 2. Leaf length is the longest in P 3352 and the shortest in P 3282(97.63cm vs 84.17cm), and there was significant(P<.Ol) difference between corn varieties. 3. Stem diameter was the longest in P 3144 and the shortest(P<.Ol) in P 3352(3.28cm vs 2.66cm). 4. P 3144, P 3282 and P 3352 had the greatest(P<.Ol) fresh matter yields per 10a in leaf, stem, and ear and whole plant, respectively. 5. Dry matter yield of P 3282 was the greatest(P<.Ol) in stem(1,080.6 kg/lOa) and leaf(304.5 kg/lOa), and that of P 3352 was the greatest in ear(864.1 kg/lOa) and whole plant yield(2,021 kg/lOa). 6. Ratios of respective part of corn to total dry matter were ranged from 12.7 to 17.8 76 for leaf, 44.5 to 66.9% for stem and husks, and 16.9 to 42.8 % for ear, and the highest in P 3160, P 3160 and P 3352, respectively. Consequently, P 3352, P 3144 and P 3282 shown high productivity in dry matter yield could be recommended as a reliable corn varieties for silage.

Stem Firmness and Flowering Response of Cut Lilies as Influenced by Medium Composition in Box Culture

  • Stem firmness and flowering response of cut lily as influenced by medium composition (Control: Upland soil, Pt: Peatmoss, Pe: Perlite, Ve: Vermiculite, Rrh: Rotted rice-hull, RPt: Russian Peatmoss) were studied. For 'Casa Blanca', plant height and length of flower stalk increased when bulbs were planted in Pt:Rrh:Ve(1:1:1, v/v), and dried leaves of lower part plants decreased by RPt:Pe:Rrh(1:1:1, v/v). In case of 'Marco Polo' plant height and length of flower stalk increased with Pt:Rrh(1:1, v/v) as compared to other treatment, number of leaves and dried leaves increased when bulbs were planted in RPt:Pe:Rrh(1:1:1, v/v) as compared to control. Flowering of 'Casa Blanca' was promoted in Pt:Pe:Ve(1:1:1, v/v) and 'Marco Polo' was accelerated in Pt:Rrh:Ve(1:1:1, v/v). Flower length of 'Casa Blanca' was increased by RPt:Pe:Rrh(1 :1 :1, v/v) as compared with control and 'Marco Polo' was increased when bulbs planted to Pt:Rrh(1 :1, v/v). Flower-bud blasting of two cultivars was increased with Pt as compared with other treatment. Stem firmness of 'Casa Blanca' was increased by Pt:Pe:Ve (1:1 :1, v/v), and especially, stem firmness of upper part plants was increased by Pt:Rrh(1 :1, v/v) in 'Marco Polo' as compared to control plants. but generally, stem firmness of 'Casa Blanca' was not influenced with all cultural media as compared to control.

선수부 주위의 자곡표면류의 유동관측에 관한 실험적 고찰 (A Experimental Study on the Observation of Free-Surface Flow around Ship's Bow)

  • When the vessel is running at the very low Froude numbers, the free-surface is difficult to be disturbed, wave-making is negligible, and the double -model velocity potential gives a very good approximation for calculating the velocity distribution just outside the boundary layer. If the speed of incident flow is gradually increased, the most perceptible change is the rise of the flow surface at stem. With further increase in speed, the nature of the flow at the bow changes completely, The flow ahead of the bow becomes more distrubed, the rise at the stem to stagnation height disappear, and the first wave crest, of less than the stagnation height, appears a small distance downstream from the stem. The present study is concerned with a small region of this flow, mainly in the bow region. The present investigation is primarily an experimental study of the flow in the bow region of s ship model, and it is undertaken in order to investigated systematically, the effect of bow geometry on this flow. The long-range objective is to use these results to guide the development of a mathematical model for predicting the flow about a ship's bow.
