To recognize F5-like (such as F5 and nsF5) steganographic algorithm from multi-class stego images, a recognition algorithm based on the identifiable statistical feature (IDSF) of F5-like steganography is proposed in this paper. First, this paper analyzes the special modification ways of F5-like steganography to image data, as well as the special changes of statistical properties of image data caused by the modifications. And then, by constructing appropriate feature extraction sources, the IDSF of F5-like steganography distinguished from others is extracted. Lastly, based on the extracted IDSFs and combined with the training of SVM (Support Vector Machine) classifier, a recognition algorithm is presented to recognize F5-like stego images from images set consisting of a large number of multi-class stego images. A series of experimental results based on the detection of five types of typical JPEG steganography (namely F5, nsF5, JSteg, Steghide and Outguess) indicate that, the proposed algorithm can distinguish F5-like stego images reliably from multi-class stego images generated by the steganography mentioned above. Furthermore, even if the types of some detected stego images are unknown, the proposed algorithm can still recognize F5-like stego images correctly with high accuracy.

With the expansion of digital communication networks, a considerable number of randomization techniques have been invented and implemented to enhance the different data transmission algorithms' levels of security. Steganography is among the data transmissions techniques used to hide secret data. Nowadays, several randomization techniques have been used in steganography to elevate the security of transmitted data. Unfortunately, the majority of these techniques lack some simplicity, efficiency, and flexibility, in addition to other limitations. This research presents a new randomization technique called Rand-Stego. Rand-Stego could be applied/practiced over any steganography technique. It provides simplicity and efficiency and elevates the security level. Examples of implementing the proposed technique on some steganography algorithms will be explored. The proposed and current techniques will be compared. The obtained results show Rand-Stego's superiority in terms of efficiency and flexibility when compared to the current techniques.

Security of information during transmission is a major issue in this modern era. All of the communicating bodies want confidentiality, integrity, and authenticity of their secret information. Researchers have presented various schemes to cope with these Internet security issues. In this context, both steganography and cryptography can be used effectively. However, major limitation in the existing steganographic methods is the low-quality output stego images, which consequently results in the lack of security. To cope with these issues, we present an efficient method for RGB images based on gray level modification (GLM) and multi-level encryption (MLE). The secret key and secret data is encrypted using MLE algorithm before mapping it to the grey-levels of the cover image. Then, a transposition function is applied on cover image prior to data hiding. The usage of transpose, secret key, MLE, and GLM adds four different levels of security to the proposed algorithm, making it very difficult for a malicious user to extract the original secret information. The proposed method is evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively. The experimental results, compared with several state-of-the-art algorithms, show that the proposed algorithm not only enhances the quality of stego images but also provides multiple levels of security, which can significantly misguide image steganalysis and makes the attack on this algorithm more challenging.

In this paper, we propose a highly secure technique to hide confidential data in image pixels using a quadruple encryption techniques. In the proposed technique, the boundary surface where the image outline exists and the flat surface with little change in pixel values are investigated. At the boundary of the image, in order to preserve the characteristics of the boundary, one bit of confidential data that has been multiply encrypted is spatially encrypted again in the LSB of the pixel located at the boundary to hide the confidential data. At the boundary of an image, in order to preserve the characteristics of the boundary, one bit of confidential data that is multiplely encrypted is hidden in the LSB of the pixel located at the boundary by spatially encrypting it. In pixels that are not on the border of the image but on a flat surface with little change in pixel value, 2-bit confidential data that is multiply encrypted is hidden in the lower 2 bits of the pixel using location-based encryption and spatial encryption techniques. When applying the proposed technique to hide confidential data, the image quality of the stego-image is up to 49.64dB, and the amount of confidential data hidden increases by up to 92.2% compared to the existing LSB method. Without an encryption key, the encrypted confidential data hidden in the stego-image cannot be extracted, and even if extracted, it cannot be decrypted, so the security of the confidential data hidden in the stego-image is maintained very strongly. The proposed technique can be effectively used to hide copyright information in general commercial images such as webtoons that do not require the use of reversible data hiding techniques.

Steganography is the art of concealing the existence of a secret data in a non-secret digital carrier called cover media. While the image of steganography methods is extensively researched, studies on other cover files remain limited. Videos are promising research items for steganography primitives. This study presents an improved approach to video steganography. The improvement is achieved by allowing senders and receivers exchanging secret data without embedding the hidden data in the cover file as in traditional steganography methods. The method is based mainly on searching for exact matches between the secret text and the video frames RGB channel pixel values. Accordingly, a random key-dependent data is generated, and Elliptic Curve Public Key Cryptography is used. The proposed method has an unlimited embedding capacity. The results show that the improved method is secure against traditional steganography attacks since the cover file has no embedded data. Compared to other existing Steganography video systems, the proposed system shows that the method proposed is unlimited in its embedding capacity, system invisibility, and robustness. The system achieves high precision for data recovery in the receiver. The performance of the proposed method is found to be acceptable across different sizes of video files.

In the digital world of the internet, steganography is introduced to hide the existence of the secret communication by concealing a secret message inside another unsuspicious cover medium. The third parties are unaware that a stego medium is being communicated. There exists a large variety of steganography methods based on texts. In this paper, analyzed the advantages and significant disadvantages of each existing text steganography method and how new approach could be proposed as a solution. The objective of this paper is to propose a method for hiding the secret messages in safer manner from external attacks by encryption rearrangement key.

Image steganography is one of the key types of steganography where a message to be sent is hidden inside the cover image. The most commonly used techniques for image steganography rely on LSB steganography. In this paper, a novel image steganography technique based on blocks matrix determinant method is proposed. Under this method, a cover image is divided into blocks of size $2{\times}2$ pixels and the determinant of each block is calculated. The comparison of the determinant values and corresponding data bits yields a delicate way for the embedment of data bits. The main aim of the proposed technique is to ensure concealment of secret data inside an image without affecting the cover image quality. When the proposed steganography method is compared with other existing LSB steganography methods, it is observed that it not only provides higher PSNR, lower MSE but also guarantees better quality of the stego image.

Steganography is being used as a means of secret communication for crimes that threaten national security such as terrorism and espionage. With the development of computers, steganography technologies develop and criminals produce and use their own programs. However, the research for steganography is not active because detailed information on national security cases is not disclosed. The development of investigation technologies and the responses of criminal law are insufficient. Therefore, in this paper, the detection and decoding process was examined for steganography investigation, and the method was analyzed for 'the spy case of Pastor Kim', who was convicted by the Supreme Court. Multiple security devices were prepared using symmetric steganography using the pre-promised stego key. Furthermore, the three criminal legal issues: (1) the relevance issue, (2) the right to participate, and (3) the public trial issue a countermeasure were considered in national security cases. Through this paper, we hope that the investigative agency will develop analysis techniques for steganography.

Recently, Information Hiding Technology are becoming increasingly demanding in the field of international security, military and medical image This paper proposes data hiding technique utilizing parity checker for gray level image. many researches have been adopted LSB substitution and XOR operation in the field of steganography for the low complexity, high embedding capacity and high image quality. But, LSB substitution methods are not secure through it's naive mechanism even though it achieves high embedding capacity. Proposed method replaces LSB of each pixel with XOR(between the parity check bit of other 7 MSBs and 1 Secret bit) within one pixel. As a result, stego-image(that is, steganogram) doesn't result in high image degradation. Eavesdropper couldn't easily detect the message embedding. This approach is applying the concept of symmetric-key encryption protocol onto steganography. Furthermore, 1bit of symmetric-key is generated by the self-reference of each pixel. Proposed method provide more 25% embedding rate against existing XOR operation-based methods and show the effect of the reversal rate of LSB about 2% improvement.
