  • Fruits are subjected to complex dynamic stresses in the transportation environment. During a long journey form the production area to markets, there is always some degree of vibration present. Vibration inputs are transmitted from the vehicle through the packaging to the fruit. Inside, these cause sustained bouncing of fruits against each other and container wall. These steady state vibration input may cause serious fruit injury, and this damage is particularly severe whenever the fruit inside the package is free to bounce, and is vibrated at its resonant frequency. The determination of the resonant frequencies of the fruit may help the packaging designer to determine the proper packaging system providing adequate protection for the fruit, and to understand the complex interaction between the components of fruit when they relate to expected transportation vibration inputs. 가속도 크기 변수에 따른 수직진동에 대한 인지수준 고찰 (Investigation for the Characters of Human Perception Level according to Acceleration Value Parameters)

  • Occupants induced floor vertical vibrations may cause other occupant's annoyance and lead to social loss. To help control such floor vibrations, several criteria have been developed mostly based on human perception tests and floor vibration tests. Floor vibration is evaluated by comparison with criteria and vibration parameters of subject floor, such as frequency, damping ratio, acceleration value, vibration duration time and occurrence frequency. Three acceleration value parameters are used in criteria; peak acceleration, rms acceleration and VDV, when a floor vibration serviceability is evaluated. Meanwhile rms acceleration and peak acceleration are adopted as vibration limit value in criteria and researches of human perception for vibration. Occupants induced floor vibration is transient rather than steady state. However, rms acceleration is not reliable parameter for evaluating transient vibration. The objective of this study is to investigate the characters of human perception level according to acceleration value parameters for vibration induced by heel impacts and walking activities.

변위비례식 마찰댐퍼 시스템의 진동해석 (Vibration Analysis of an Amplitude Proportional Friction Damper System)

  • An Amplitude Proportional Friction Damper (APFD) is considered in order to improve the characteristics of Coulomb friction damper. The frictional force is proportional to the amplitude in APFD system and the system is non-linear as is Coulomb damper system. A free vibration analysis on the 1-DOF system has made to demonstrate the characteristics of the APFD system. The results show that APFD system has similar damping characteristics to the viscous damper. Also, the solution for the response of a base-excited system with APFD is developed through the application of a Fourier series to represent the frictional force of APFD. It is assumed that no stick-slips occur during any portion of the steady-state oscillation.

각종 매설관의 강제진동거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Forced Vibration Responses of Various Buried Pipelines)

  • Dynamic response of buried pipelines both in the axial and the transverse directions on concrete pipe and steel pipe, FRP pipe were investigated through a forced vibration analysis. The dynamic behavior of the buried pipelines for the forced vibration is found to exhibit two different forms, a transient response and a steady state response, depending on the time before and after the transfer of a seismic wave on the end of the buried pipeline. The former is identified by a slight change in its behavior before the sinusoidal-shaped seismic wave travels along the whole length of the pipeline whereas the latter by the complete form of a sinusoidal wave when the wave travels throughout the pipeline. The transient response becomes insignificant as the wave speed increases. From the results of the dynamic responses at the many points of the pipeline, we have found that the responses appeared to be dependent critically on the boundary end conditions. Such effects are found to be most prominent especially for the maximum values of the displacement and the strain and its position.

  • The simplest vibrtion absorber is the impact damper which consists of a small mass allowed to impact between two gaps sp that energy is dissipated by conversion into noise and heat. Impact damping is a passive vibration control technique to attenuate the vibrations of lightly damped. It has been investigated to reduce the excessive vibrations of turbin blades, radar antennas, machine tools and tall light poles. In this paper, the efficiency of impact vibration absorber was investigated. A steady state vibration of two equispaced impacts per cycle was assumed. The analysis based on the assumption has been considered and the theory is examined experimentally.

  • Ball type automatic balancer is used to reduce the vibration caused by unbalance of rotor. In this study, A analytic modeling of a front loaded washing machine with ball type automatic balancer has been suggested theoretically and ADAMS has been used to analyze the dynamic characteristics of automatic balancer. It is found from simulation and experimental results that the automatic balancer suppress the steady state vibration of washing machine effectively. The test results match with the simulation results of ADAMS, thereby the dynamic model of ADAMS can be used as virtual prototype to predict the vibration characteristics which could be changed by the modification of design variableand can reduce the design cycle sharphy. To maximize the balancing effect of automatic balancer, the friction between balls and race and the deviation between geometric center and rotation center of drum need to be minimized and the optimum design for the stiffness of flange shaft and the angular acceleration of drum should be achieved.

  • The non-linear torsional vibrations of the propulsion shafting system with viscous damper are considered. The motion is modeled by non-linear differential equations of second order. the equivalent system is modeled by two mass softening system with Duffing's oscillator. The steady state response of a equivalent system is analyzed for primary resonance only. Harmonic balance method as a non-linear vibration analysis technique is used. Jump phenomena are explained. The primary unstable region obtained by the Mathieu equation is investigated. Both theoretical and measured results of the propulsion shafting system are compared with and evaluated. As a result of comparisons with both data, it was confirmed that Duffing's oscillator can be used as a analysis method in the modeling of the propulsion shafting system attached viscous damper with non-linear stiffness.

자이로스코프 시스템을 이용한 드럼 세탁기의 진동 저감 연구 (A Study on Reducing Vibration of Washing Machine Using Gyroscope System)

  • A novel method to reduce the vibration of drum type washing machine is proposed. Recently, as the capacity of the drum-type washing machine gets expanded and its washing performance is improved, its market share is increasing in the whole world. But, the capacity of washing machine is limited because of door size and built-in washing machine size. The vibration of washing machine is caused by unbalanced cloths in high spining drum, and the displacement of tub is maximized at transient range about 3 Hz(180 rpm). Previous researches were concerned about steady-state vibration in spinning. In this study, concerned about transient vibration and the displacement of tub is decreased by using gyroscope system. Mutibody dynamic model of washing machine include gyroscope is designed and the vibration of tub have been reduced by 44.7 % over original.

  • Nowadays, the natural frequencies and their relative amplitudes of torsional vibration for the marine diesel engine shafting are usually calculated by the Holzer method and also its resonant amplitudes are estimated by the energy method, that is, by equating the exciting energy to the damping one. Therefore, the forced vibration amplitudes out of the resonant points can not be calculated by the above-mentioned method. And so, the reasonable barred-ranges of torsional vibration can not be set and also the flank of resonant point which locates near the calculation limit can not be estimated. For such problems, the equation of forced vibration with damping must be solved directly and these results can be utilized to derive the synthesized torsional vibration of the marine diesel engine propulsion shafting. In this study, the equation of forced vibration with damping for the marine diesel engine propulsion shafting is derived and its steady-state vibration is calculated by the mechanical impedance method. For numerical calculation of the actual propulsion shafting a computer program is developed. In order to prove the reliability of this program, an actual ship's propulsion shafting whose torsional vibration was measured is analyzed and the calculated propulsion shafting whose torsional vibration was measured is analyzed and the calculated results are compared with the measured ones. And also, they are compared with the calculated results which were obtained by the modal analysis.

정수장용 교반기 시설의 과진동 원인 분석 (Investigation on the Excessive Vibration of A Mixer Facility in A Water Purification Plant)

  • Recently, mixers are being widely used in the water purification plant in order to increase the filtration efficiency. It has been found that a severe vibration was being felt on a upper structure of a mixer facility during steady state operation. The cause of the excessive vibration of the structure to which the mixer's shaft is supported has been evaluated through modal analysis on the shaft and vibration measurements during operation. The fundamental natural frequency of the mixer's shaft is found to be around 1.8 Hz and the main vibratory frequency around 30 Hz. It has been tuned out that the main vibratory frequency, 30 Hz is coincident with the fundamental holding frequency of the upper structure, and that the acceleration signal of the upper structure and the displacement signal of the mixer's shaft showed highly coherent to each other. Accordingly, it reveals that the main cause of the excessive vibration is due not to the mixer's vibration but to the natural frequency of the upper structure excited by flow turbulence.
