  • This research is based on the survey of welfare beneficiaries, aiming to set up the gender-equal welfare policies. Through the survey, this research examines status of women in the family and society and also examines, the degree of perception of women's welfare policies, needs, and satisfaction. According to the survey results, the current welfare policies that are limited to needy women should expand its range, enforcing the infra structure. That employment policy for women turned out to be very important in welfare policies. Demand for more enlarged welfare policies is quite high, especially in housing, employment and elderly care. On the contrary, the degree of satisfaction degree appears quite low because of unrealistic welfare program and benefits. In order to improve the welfare policies, more active and realistic employment policies should be emphasized with the proper support for family life. To raise the status of women, proper policies for women's economic independence should be set up. In addition, consciousness of gender equality should be encouraged in the whole society. Also, women's participation in politics and decision-making process is necessary.

  • This study aimed to explain the factors that influenced an individual's decision to migrate. The method of analysis in this study was the estimation of the probit regression model with data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS-5), which covered 30,000 individuals from 13 provinces in Indonesia. Data from IFLS-5 were longitudinal data, meaning that the study was looking for data consistently to get reliable data from respondents. The research variables to determine the individual's decision to migrate were education level, income level, employment status, marital status, land ownership status, health quality, gender, residence status, and poverty status. Individual decision to migrate as a dependent variable was placed as a dummy variable. The results showed that the level of education, income level, employment status, marital status, land ownership status, health quality, and poverty status significantly influenced an individual's decision to migrate. Meanwhile, gender and residence status did not significantly affect an individual's decision to migrate. This research recommends that it is necessary to pursue a policy of economic equality between regions because economic factors are the main trigger for an individual's decision to migrate. Policies to overcome economic disparities among regions will reduce the individual's decision to migrate.

  • Now, GPS survey is used on equipment from leisure to precise geodetic survey and nation admits the result of GPS survey. When surveyors perform precise GPS survey, they use post processing method but they greatly use real time processing method to consider field status. Especially, when surveyors measure the result of moving target, they use real time GPS survey to the best method. For this study, the author precisely surveyed distance of ship launching from shipyard on real time using real time precise GPS method. In this paper, the author compares and examines the accuracy of first real time precise GPS survey method nationally and the capability on use.
