  • This paper aims to investigate the vibration analysis of functionally graded porous (FGP) beams using State-space approach with several classical and non-classical boundary conditions. The materials properties of the porous FG beams are considered to have even and uneven distributions profiles along the thickness direction. The equation of motion for FGP beams with various boundary conditions is obtained through Hamilton's principle. State-space approach is used to obtain the governing equation of porous FG beam. The comparison of the results of this study with those in the literature validates the present analysis. The effects of span-to-depth ratio (L/h), of distribution shape of porosity and others parameters on the dynamic behavior of the beams are described. The results show that the boundary conditions, the geometry of the beams and the distribution shape of porosity affect the fundamental frequencies of the beams.

  • This paper presents an analysis of a 4th order LCLC resonant converter with a capacitive output filter using the state-space approach. The analysis of the converter shows that there are four intervals in a half period. In each interval, the state-space equations are obtained. Due to the soft switching of the converter, an exact equation for the Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) time and the maximum dead time of the inverter switches are presented. The simulation and experimental results obtained from a 10kv, 370w prototype confirm the validity of the theoretical analysis.

  • This paper presents a predictive control with H$_{\infty}$ suboptimal performance which is robust to disturbances and has a guaranteed stability. In order to derive the control law conveniently, state-space based approach, where the state variable is involved explicitly in the controller design and implementation is allowed. So an input-output model is converted to an equivalent observable canonical state-space form. The suggested control guarantees the norm bounded system output values from disturbances. A systematic way using the LMI method is presented to obtain appropriate parameters for Quadratic stability condition and optimization problem.

  • This paper presents a method of hierarchical state estimation of the time-varying linear systems via Block-pulse function(BPF). When we estimate the state of the systems where noise is considered, it is very difficult to obtain the solutions because minimum error variance matrix having a form of matrix nonlinear differential equations is included in the filter gain calculation. Therefore, hierarchical approach is adapted to transpose matrix nonlinear differential equations to a sum of low order state space equation from and Block-pulse functions are used for solving each low order state space equation in the form of simple and recursive algebraic equation. We believe that presented methods are very attractive nd proper for state estimation of time-varying linear systems on account of its simplicity and computational convenience. • This paper proposes a new framework for control system design, called the data-based control approach or data space approach, in which the input and output data of a dynamical system is directly and solely used to analyze or design a control system without the employment of any mathematical models like transfer functions, state space equations, and kernel representations. Since, in this approach, most of the analysis and design processes are carried out in the domain of the data space, we introduce some notions of geometrical objects, e.g., the openloop and closed-loop data spaces, which serve as the system representations in the data space. In addition, we establish a relationship between the open-loop and closed-loop data spaces that the closed-loop data space is contained in the open-loop data space as one of its subspaces. By using this relationship, we can derive the data-based stabilization condition for a linear time-invariant discrete-time system, which leads to a linear matrix inequality with a rank constraint.

  • This paper offers an alternative to the common probability generating function approach to the solution of steady state equations when a Markovian queue has a multivariate state space. Identifying states and substates and grouping them into vectors appropriately, we formulate a two - dimensional Markovian queue as a Markov chain. Solving the resulting matrix equations the transition point steady state probabilities (SSPs) are obtained. These are then converted into arbitrary time SSPs. The procedure uses only probabilistic arguments and thus avoids a large and cumbersome state space which often poses difficulties in the solution of steady state equations. For the purpose of numerical illustration of the approach we solve a Markovian queue with one server and two classes of customers.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate the possibility of chemical process synthesis purely based on mathematical programming when given an objective, feed conditions, product specifications, and model equations for available process units. A method based on a state space approach is proposed, and applied to an example problem with a reactor, a heat exchanger, and a separator. The results indicate that a computer can automatically synthesize an optimal process without any heuristics or expertise in process design provided that global optimization techniques are improved to be suitable for large problems.

  • Wind-induced vibration of buildings with viscoelastic dampers are studied analytically. The added viscoelastic dampers change the damping distribution and reduce the response of buildings. The distribution of damping resistance that results from these viscoelastic dampers is known as non-classical or non-proportional. Non-classically damped structures are analyzed by state-space approach. However, this approach is complex and time-consumming compared to classical approach. This paper is aimed at the analysis of wind-induced Vibration Of buildings With Viscoelastic dampers. The Process Of State-Space approach is studied and the approximate analysis is suggested to overcome the complex and time-consuming access. For numerical certification, PSDF(Power Spectral Density Function) is obtained. Autocorrelation function is obtained in time domain and PSDF is obtained by fourier transformation of this function in frequency domain. It is found that Approximate method can give close approximation to exact solution.

  • The purpose of a solar tracking system (STS) is to control the attitude of a space vehicle so that it will track the sun with high accuracy. In this paper, the literature of tracking of the sun in a plane is surveyed and a control modeling for the analysis of STS is presented by simultaneous transfer functions and state-space equations. Also a program for obtaining state variables by the single term Walsh series(STWS) approach is developed. The proposed approach is much simpler in analysis and easier in implementation than the Runge-Kutta numerical integration Method. The results of computer simulation are shown for the dynamic behaviors of vehicle axis, armature-controlled dc motor and controller of STS via a Runge-Kutta method and a single term Walsh series approach, respectively.
