This paper investigates a robust neuro-fuzzy control (NFC) method which can accurately follow the speed reference of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) in the existence of nonlinearities and system uncertainties. A neuro-fuzzy control term is proposed to estimate these nonlinear and uncertain factors, therefore, this difficulty is completely solved. To make the global stability analysis simple and systematic, the time derivative of the quadratic Lyapunov function is selected as the cost function to be minimized. Moreover, the design procedure of the online self-tuning algorithm is comparatively simplified to reduce a computational burden of the NFC. Next, a rotor angular acceleration is obtained through the disturbance observer. The proposed observer-based NFC strategy can achieve better control performance (i.e., less steady-state error, less sensitivity) than the feedback linearization control method even when there exist some uncertainties in the electrical and mechanical parameters. Finally, the validity of the proposed neuro-fuzzy speed controller is confirmed through simulation and experimental studies on a prototype IPMSM drive system with a TMS320F28335 DSP.

Generally. most of the physical systems affected by disturbance or incomplete knowledge are complex and highly nonlinear. To control under these circumstances. many researches are ongoing in modern control theory recently. But the researches need apparatuses. which can verify the controller for being not damaged the real plant. In this paper. therefore. a seesaw system is considered control system to analyze and apply the control theory. A seesaw system consists of a moving cart on the rail and seesaw frame made to demonstrate the effectiveness of the control theory. The system has balancing and positioning problems. and the driving force is applied on the DC motor of cart. but not on the pivot. The purpose of control is to maintain an equilibrium of seesaw frame in spite of an allowable disturbance. Computer simulations are given to illustrate the control performance of the proposed scheme.
Lots of semi-active control devices have been developed in recent years because they have the best features of passive and active system. Especially, controllable magneto-rheological(MR) fluid devices have received significant attention in these area of research. The MR fluid is the material that reversibly changes from a free-flowing, linear viscous fluid to a semisolid with a controllable yield strength in milliseconds when exposed to a magnetic field. If the magnetic field is induced by moving a permanent magnet instead of applying current to a solenoid, it is possible to design a MR damper consuming low power because the power consumption is reduced at steady state. This paper proposes valve mode MR damper using permanent magnetic circuit that has wide range of operation with low power consumption and small size. To design a MR damper that has a large maximum dissipating torque and a low damping coefficient, a design parameter is adopted. The magnetic circuit, material of choke and choke type are selected experimentally with the design parameter. The behaviors of the damper are examined and torque tracking control using PID feedback controller is performed for step, ramp and sinusoidal trajectories.

This paper presents some examples of active control of flow-induced vibration using piezoelectric actuators. The flutter phenomenon, which is the dynamic instability of structure due to mutual interaction among inertia, stiffness, and aerodynamic forces, may cause catastrophic structural failure, and therefore the active flutter suppression is one of the main objectives of the aeroelastic control. Active flutter control has been numerically and experimentally studied for swept-back lifting surfaces using piezoelectric actuation. A finite element method, a panel aerodynamic method, and the minimum state space realization are involved in the development of the governing equation, which is efficiently used for the analysis of the system and design of control laws with modern control framework. The active control suppressed flow-induced vibrations and extended the flutter speed around by 10%. Another representative flow-induced vibration phenomenon is the oscillation of blunt bodies due to the vortex shedding. In general, it is quite difficult to set up the numerical model because of the strong non-linearity of the vortex shedding structure. Therefore, we applied adaptive positive position feedback controller, which requires no pre-determined model of the plant, and successfully suppressed the flow-induced vibration.

This paper presents a new dynamic model which is represented by the second order differenatial equation and itcludes the robot arm dynamics as well as the actuator dynamics. The model exhibits excellent performance in the steady state and transient response. In addition the time varing nonlinear and coupled dynamic system has been linearized and decoupled by using nonlinear feedback and linearization method. In this case a pole assignment law is used to improve stability, and the optimal control altorithm is applied to the error equation to minimize the path error. In applying the proposed algorithm to the three joint manipulator with actuators, we obtained very encouraging results.
In this paper, we propose a control scheme for quadrotor system using a pole placement method. When using a state feedback controller, a lot of trial and error in selection of control gains are often required to improve system performance. In order to relax this complicated process, we analyze the closed-loop system associated with control gains. Then, we present a control gain selection algorithm for control gains using a pole placement method to improve the system performance. The proposed control method is applied to the actual quadrotor system to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.
In general, multiple hydraulic servo actuators are installed on one control surface of aero-dynamically highly loaded condition aircraft for redundancy management to satisfy flight control safety requirements. If motions of multiple actuators are not synchronized, control surface is deformed from its free stressed state. In result, force fight conditions are generated on each actuator due to restoration reaction force of deformed control surface. In addition, force fight is induced from severe initial rigging tolerance. Force fight condition of multiple actuators affects control accuracies and reduces operational life of actuators and control surface due to fatigue phenomenon. In this study, we designed controller using force feedback to reduce force fight of duplex servo actuation system.
This paper presents a vector control implementation for SPMSM(Surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) using dSPACE 1104 system and MATLAB/SIMULINK. SPMSM can be treated as a DC motor provided that currents of flux and torque component are controlled independently using vector control. Therefore various control algorithms for conventional DC motor control can be adopted to SPMSM. The system is designed to improve set-point tracking capability, fast response, and accuracy. In This paper, d-q equivalent modeling of PMSM is derived based on vector control theory. The PI controller is used for speed control and state feedback PI current control method is used for current control. For the implementation of high performance vector control system, dSPACE 1104 system is used. Simulations and experiments were carried out to examine validity of the proposed vector control implementation.

This paper presents the verified results from the examination of the control algorithm, logic composition, and vehicle condition of the engine that has been adapted for DME fuel. It introduces the development process of the control structure and the logic control based on control map and auto-code generation, and finally verifies the reliability and performance of the overall control. The control structure largely consists of the injection control part that implements driver demand into an engine net torque and the air control system part that satisfies characteristics of exhaust gas and power performance. The control logic is designed with feedforward and feedback control for each of its control functions for an enhanced response. Moreover, the control map of the feedforward controller is created by the use of an engine model created by test data of mass product diesel engine, and it was subsequently calibrated in the test process of the engine and vehicle state. A test mode was completed by attaching the developed controller to the vehicle, and a reduction in gas emission is confirmed by the calibration of EGR, VGT, and injection times.
To increase the stevedore efficiency and service level at container terminal, it is essential to reduce working time of container crane which has a bottle neck in the logistic flow of container. The working speed and safety are required to be improved by controlling the movement of the trolley as quick as possible without big overshoot and any residual swing motion of container in the vicinity of target position. This paper presents optimal state feedback control using RCGAs in the case of existing constrained conditions
