Identification of Continuous System from Step Response using HS Optimization Algorithm (HS 최적화 알고리즘을 이용한 계단응답과 연속시스템 인식)

  • The first-order plus dead time(FOPDT) and second-order plus dead time(SOPDT), which describes a linear monotonic process quite well in most chemical and industrial processes and is often sufficient for PID and IMC controller tuning. This paper presents an application of heuristic harmony search(HS) optimization algorithm to the identification of linear continuous time-delay systems from step response. This recently developed HS algorithm is conceptualized using the musical process of searching for a perfect state of harmony. It uses a stochastic random search instead of a gradient search so that derivative information is unnecessary. The effectiveness of the proposed identification method has been demonstrated through a number of simulation examples.

Design of Routing Algorithm for SDDC BAS (SDDC BAS에 적합한 라우팅 알고리즘의 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose an effective routing protocol that can be particularly applied to SDDC (Sangmyung Direct Digital Controller) BAS. We have used NS (Network Simulator)-2 to simulate the real building for SDDC BAS. The static, session, DV (Distance Vector), and LS (Link State) algorithms are used and the protocols for performance comparison and evaluation are compared with respect to end to end delay, throughput, and routing overhead. The simulation results show that the DV algorithm is effective for SDDC BAS.

  • This paper focuses on congestion control for ATM network with uncertain time-variant delays. The time-variant delays can be distinguished into two distinct components. The first one that is represented by time-variant queueing delays in the intermediate switches is occurred in the return paths of RM cells. The next one is a forward path delay. It is solved by the VBR Model which quantifies the data propagation from the sources to the switch. Robust $H_{\infty}$ control is studied for solving congestion problem with norm-bounded time-varying uncertain parameters. The suitable robust $H_{\infty}$ controller is obtained from the solution of a convex optimization problem including terms of LMIs.

  • 본 논문에서는 상태와 입력에 시간지연과 구조화된 불확실성이 있는 시스템을 위한 강인 H/sub .inf./ 제어기를 제안한다. 제안된 제안기는 시간지연의 크기에 관계없이 항상 불확실한 시스템을 안정화시키고, 또한 제한된 크기의 어떤 구조화된 불확실성에 대해서도 항상 폐루프 전달함수의 H/sub .inf./ 노옴의 크기를 주어진 레벨 이하로 줄인다. 제어기는 볼록 최적화 알고리즘을 이용한 LMI 문제를 풀어서 구한다.

  • A programmable dynamometer is the proposed system improved the problem of the torque measuring delay with torque transducer, and the load torque is estimated by the minimal order state observer based on the torque component of the vector control induction moter. Therefore, the torque controller is not affected by a load torque disturbance. To verify a superiority of the proposed control algorithm, the analysis for a root locus of a conventional control method and the proposed one, and simulation and experiment is performed. Therefore we hope to be extended in industrial application.

One-Cycle Control Strategy with Active Damping for AC-DC Matrix Converter

  • This study presents an input filter resonance mitigation method for an AC-DC matrix converter. This method combines the advantages of the one-cycle control strategy and the active damping technique. Unnecessary sensors are removed, and system cost is reduced by employing the grid-side input currents as feedback to damp out LC resonance. A model that includes the proposed method and the input filter is established with consideration of the delay caused by the actual controller. A zero-pole map is employed to analyze model stability and to investigate virtual resistor parameter design principles. Based on a double closed-loop control scheme, the one-cycle control strategy does not require any complex modulation index control. Thus, this strategy can be more easily implemented than traditional space vector-based methods. Experimental results demonstrate the veracity of theoretical analysis and the feasibility of the proposed approach.

  • 사이버 물리 시스템의 발달은 네트워크 기반 제어 시스템을 다양한 형태로 진화시키고 있다. 네트워크에서는 전송 지연과 전송 오류에 의해서 다양한 불규칙한 지연이 발생하고 지연에 강인한 제어기 설계가 요구되고 있다. 마코프 프로세서를 따르는 지연을 갖는 제어 시스템에서 제어기를 설계할 때에 많이 사용되는 모델중에 하나가 확장된 상태 벡터를 기반으로 한 마코프 점프 선형 시스템 모델이다. 본 연구에서는 이 모델을 이용하여 리아푸노프 안전성 조건으로부터 유도되는 선형 행렬 부등식의 안정성 조건으로부터 저복잡도를 가지고 제어기를 유도하는 직관적 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 모의 실험을 통해서 성능을 확인하였으나, 직관적 방법 구조상에서 제한 조건의 수가 자유 변수의 수보다 많은 이유 때문에 성능이 배우 제한적임을 확인하였고, 이를 개선하기 위한 향후 연구가 요청됨을 확인하였다.

Overload Measurement and Control of Access Control Channel Based on Hysteresis at Satellite Communication of DAMA (DAMA방식 위성통신에서 Hysteresis특성에 따른 Access 제어채널의 과부하 측정 및 제어기법)

  • This paper proposes the measurement scheme for network overload and the control technique in case of breaking several control channels when we support the call services of DAMA through communication satellite(GEO, Geostationary Earth Orbit). And its performance is analyzed. The proposed schemes measure the overload of access control channel of a network controller to control the call connections, detect the level of network overload, notify the terminals of DAMA network of the state, and excute overload control. As a result, it improves the system performance and the network stability at overload state. Moreover hysteresis is applied to the change of overload state for the restriction of the frequent state shifts. The results show that the proposed algorithm prevents excessive increment of call-setup delay and too much lowering of call success rate, and improves the network stability.

  • A gas turbine engine plays an important role as a prime mover that is used in the marine transportation field as well as the space/aviation and power plant fields. However, it has a complicated structure and there is a time delay element in the combustion process. Therefore, an elaborate mathematical model needs to be developed to control a gas turbine engine. In this study, a modeling technique for a gas generator, a PLA actuator, and a metering valve, which are major components of a gas turbine engine, is explained. In addition, sub-models are obtained at several operating points in a steady state based on the trial running data of a gas turbine engine, and a method for controlling the engine speed is proposed by designing an NPID controller for each sub-model. The proposed NPID controller uses three kinds of gains that are implemented with a nonlinear function. The parameters of the NPID controller are tuned using real-coded genetic algorithms in terms of minimizing the objective function. The validity of the proposed method is examined by applying to a gas turbine engine and by conducting a simulation.

  • Recently the adaptive control system, which keeps the control system always optimal by adjusting the control parameters automatically according to the variations of the plant parameters, have become very important in the field of control engineering. The adaptive control systems are usally composed of the plant identification, the decision of the optimal control parameters, and the adjustment of the control parameters. This paper deals with a method of the adaptive control system when PI or PID controller is used in the feed back control system. Its controlled object (the plant) is assumed to be described by the transfer function of $\frac{ke^{-LS}}{1+TS}$ where k, T and L are steady state gain, time constant and pure dead time respectively, and their values are variable in accordance with the change of environmental circumstance. It has been known that a pseudo-random binary signal is quite effective for the measurement of an impulse response of a plant. In adaptive control systems, however, the impulse response itself is not appropriate to determine the control parameters. In this paper, the authors propose a method to estimate directly the parameters of the plant k, T and L by means of the correlation technique using 3 level M-sequence signal as a test signal. The authors also propose a method to determine the optimal parameters of the PI or PID controller in the sense of minimizing the square integral of the control error in the feed back control system, and the values of the optimal parameters are computed numerically for various values of T and L, and the results are examined and compared with those of the conventional methods. Finally the above-mentioned two methods are combined and an algorithm to struct an adaptive control system is suggested. The experiments for the indicial responses by means of both the model of the temperature control system using SCR actuater and the analog simulations have shown good results as expected, and the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified. The M-sequence generator and the time delay circuit, which are manufactured for the experiments, are operated in quite a good condition.
