  • This paper proposes an LQ-PID controller to reduce errors occurring between input and output speeds in braking or emergency braking and to solve delay of speed or the excessive overshoot problems occurring at the speed control of induction motor. The conventional LQ controller is a method that move the poles in locations that satisfy design specifications such as overshoot and settling time etc. by state-feedback. So it may not be able to satisfy the overshoot requirement in case of the existence of zero in the closed loop transfer function. To attack this zero-problem it is presented a new design methodology of LQ-PID controller by introducing an analytic technique to eliminate the effect of zeros on the closed loop transfer function.

  • This note considers the $H^{\infty}$ controller design problem for linear systems with time-varying delays in states. We obtain sufficient conditions for the existence of k-th order $H^{\infty}$ controllers in terms of three linear matrix ineualities(LMIs). These sufficient conditions are dependent on the maximum value of the time derivative of time-varying delay. Furthermore, we briefly explain how to construct such controllers from the positive definite solutions of their LMIs and give an example.e.

  • This paper focuses on congestion control for ATM network with uncertain time-variant delays. The time-variant delays can be distinguished into two distinct components. The first one is represented by time-variant queueing delays in the intermediate switches that are occurred in the return paths of RM cells. The next one is a forward path delay. It is solved by the VBR model which quantifies the data propagation from the sources to the switch. Robust $H_8$ control is studied for solving congestion problem with norm-bounded time-varying uncertain parameters. The suitable robust $H_8$ controller is obtained from the solution of a convex optimization problem through LMI technique.

  • The control method of programmable dynamometer for overall test of machine is to load reference torque which is computed from torque transducer into motor under test. But the torque information detected from torque transducer have a lot of noise when the load torque of moter is a small quantity or changing. Thus, torque transducer must have a low pass filter to detect a definite torque information. But The torque delay generated by filter with torque transducer occur a torque trouble for moter torque of programmable dynamometer. Therefore, this kind of system could not perform dynamic and nonlinear load. In this paper, the control method using the load torque observer without a measure for torque transducer is proposed. The proposed system improved the problem of the torque measuring delay with torque transducer, and the load torque is estimated by the minimal order state observer based on the torque component of the vector control induction moter. Therefore, the torque controller is not affected by a load torque disturbance.

  • This paper presents a convex optimization method for observer-based mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control design of linear systems with time-varying state, input and output delays. Delay-dependent sufficient conditions for the design of a desired observer-based control are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). An observer-based controller which guarantees asymptotic stability and a mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ performance for the closed-loop system of the linear system with time-varying delays is then developed. A Lyapunov-Krasovskii method underlies the observer-based mixed $H_2/H_{\infty}$ control design. A numerical example with simulation results illustrates the effectiveness of the methodology.

  • Many manufacturing devices must execute motions as quickly as possible to achieve profitable high-volume production. Most of them have devices having flexibility and a time delay of one sampling is added to the plants when they are controlled by fast discrete controllers, which brings about non-minimum phase zeros. This paper develops a control strategy that combines feedforward and feedback control with command shaping for such devices. First, the feedback controller is designed to increase damping and eliminate steady-state error. Next, the feedforward controller is designed to speed up the transient response. Finally, an appropriate reference profile is generated using command-shaping techniques to ensure fast point-to-point motions with minimum residual vibration. The particular focus of the paper is to understand the interactions between these individual control components. The resulting control strategy is demonstrated on a model of a high-speed semiconductor manufacturing machine.

  • We design to the temperature control system based on Receding horizon control(RHC) with a terminal output weighting for stochastic state model. This system has a large time delay, a nonlinear temperature characteristics, a perturbation, a disturbance, etc. In this paper, we show that RHC can easily be applied to the system to track the desired temperature, since it takes the receding horizon strategy for both controller and filter.

  • The objectives of congestion control in ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) networks are maximum utilization of network resources, acceptable level of low cell loss and fairness among all VCs (Virtual Connections). In this paper, we present a congestion control algorithm which is based on state space model, The proposed controller uses optimal control algorithms (LQR, Mixed-LQR), where control parameters can be designed to ensure the stability of the control loop in a control theoretic sense, over the propagation delay. We show how the control mechanism can be used to design a controller to support ABR service based on feedback of explicit rates. Simulation results are presented to substantiate our claim.
