Observer design with Gershgorin's disc

  • Observer design for system with unknown input was carried out. First, Kalman filter was considered to estimate system state with White noise. With the results of Kalman filter design, state observer, controller properties, including controllability and observability, and the Kalman filter structure and algorithm were also studied. Kalman filter algorithm was applied to Position and velocity measurement based on Kalman filter with white noise, and it was constructed and achieved by programming based on Matlab programming. Finally, observer for system with unknown input was constructed with the help of Gershgorin's disc theorem. With the designed observer, system states was constructed and applied to system with unknown input. By simulation results, estimation performance was verified. In this project, state feedback control theory, observer theory and relevant design procedure, as well as Kalman filter design were understood and used in practical application.

  • Distributed generation (DG) is predicted to play an increasing role in the electric power system of the near future. Distributed generation is by definition that is of limited size (roughly 10MW or less) and interconnected at the substation, distribution feeder or customer load levels. The effects of generation sources within a distribution network on the system losses are investigated in this paper. WLAV state estimation is performed with the composite distribution system containing DG. Simulations with test cases are performed and the results are presented, using IEEE34 bus radial distribution system.

  • This paper presents Kalman filter based system modeling algorithm for autonomous robot systems. State of the robot system is measured using embedded sensor systems and then carried to a host computer via ubiquitous sensor network (USN). We settle a linear state-space motion equation for unknown robot system dynamics and modify a popular Kalman filter algorithm in deriving suitable parameter estimation mechanism. To represent time-delay nature due to network media in system modeling, we construct an augmented state-space model which is mainly composed of original state and estimated parameter vectors. We conduct real-time experiment to test our proposed estimation algorithm where speed state of the constructed robot is used as system observation.

  • In power systems, the state estimation takes an important role in security control. At present, the weighted least squares(WLS) method has been widely used to the state estimation computation. This paper presents an application of Adaptive Evolutionary Algorithm(AEA) to state estimation in power systems. AEA is a optimization method to overcome the problems of classical optimization. AEA is employed to solve state estimation on the 6 bus system.

  • In power systems, the state estimation takes an important role in security control. At present, the weighted least squares(WLS) method has been widely used to the state estimation computation. This paper presents an application of Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) to state estimation in power systems. PSO is a modern heuristic optimization method to overcome the problems of classical optimization. PSO is employed to solve state estimation on the IEEE-30 bus system.

  • 논문에서는 극저속 영역 및 저속 영역에서 안정적이고 동특성이 우수한 벡터제어 시스템을 구성하여, 축소차원 상태관측기를 이용한 순시속도 관측기와 극저속 제어에 관한 방법을 제안하였다. 본 시스템에서 제안된 관측기는 축소차원 상태관측기를 부하토크 추정에 적용하여 속도추정에 이용함으로서 시스템구성을 간단히 구현하면서도 극저속 영역에서 정확한 순시속도 추정이 가능하였다. 또한, 시스템 잡음에 의한 영향을 줄이고, 관측기의 극을 변화시키는 일 없이 부하외란이나 모델화 오차, 측정 잡음 등에 강인한 유도전동기 속도제어 시스템을 제시하였다.

  • This paper considers a state set estimation (SSE) based model predictive control (MPC) for linear parameter- varying (LPV) systems with input constraint. We estimate, at each time instant, a feasible set of all states which are consistent with system model, measurements and a priori information, rather than the state itself. By combining a state-feedback MPC and an SSE, we design an SSE-based MPC algorithm that stabilizes the closed-loop system. The proposed algorithm is solved by semi-de�nite program involving linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is included to illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.

이산 시변 상태공간 모델을 위한 최적 유한 임펄스 응답 필터 (An Optimal FIR Filter for Discrete Time-varying State Space Models)

  • In this paper, an optimal FIR (Finite-Impulse-Response) filter is proposed for discrete time-varying state-space models. The proposed filter estimates the current state using measured output samples on the recent time horizon so that the variance of the estimation error is minimized. It is designed to be linear, unbiased, with an FIR structure, and is independent of any state information. Due to its FIR structure, the proposed filter is believed to be robust for modeling uncertainty or numerical errors than other IIR filters, such as the Kalman filter. For a general system with system and measurement noise, the proposed filter is derived without any artificial assumptions such as the nonsingular assumption of the system matrix A and any infinite covariance of the initial state. A numerical example show that the proposed FIR filter has better performance than the Kalman filter based on the IIR (Infinite- Impulse-Response) structure when modeling uncertainties exist.

  • An algorithm for the state estimation and identification of multivariable nonlinear systems with noisy nonlinear observation has been investigated on the basis of the multidimensional Hermitian expansion for the a posteriori probability densities of the predicted observation, the predicted state and the observation conditioned by the state. A new approach for construction of this sequential nonlinear estimator, retaining up to the second order term of the observation error, has been developed, along with the approximation of nonlinear system functions, truncating at the second term. The estimation of the unknown parameters has been established by extending the state estimation technique, regarding the parameters as another state variables. The results of investigation indicate the feasibility of the schemes presented in this paper.

  • 현재까지 국내의 홍수예측업무는 과거에 수집된 자료집단을 이용한 변수추정에 의하여 시행되고 있으나, 최근 여러 가지 순환추정 알고리즘을 적용한 홍수예측 또는 변수추정에 관한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문은 실시간 홍수예측 및 변수추정에 관한 연구로서, 특히 강우-유출모형의 상태 및 매개변수의 동시추정에 관한 추계학적 현상을 고려하였다. 홍수예측에 관한 시스템은 $\phi$ 지수에 의한 유효강우의 산정과 지체효과를 고려한 n개의 비선형 저수지모형에 의한 홍수축적으로 구성하였다. 그리고 변수추정모형과 홍수추적 모형을 상호연계하여 변수를 포함하는 확대 상태-공간모형으로 상태 및 매개변수의 동시추정에 관한 시스템을 구성하였다. 상태-공간모형에 대한 상태 및 변수추정기법으로 GLS 추정과 MAP 추정에 대하여 비교 검토하였다. 모형의 식별을 위한 민감도 분석은 추정변수의 공분산 행렬을 사용하였다.
