  • In this paper, an auxiliary winding driving system of single-phase induction motors is described. Starting charateristics variations are obtained by controlling the auxiliary winding voltage magnitude and phase angle, while the motor's main winding is directly connected to the local utility. A variable auxiliary winding voltage phase angle is shown to yield significant torque control, providing starting and braking torque. The analysis includes the determination of the relationship between the auxiliary winding voltage phase angle and the phase angle difference between the main and auxiliary winding current. The paper proposed for adjusting an auxiliary winding voltage magnitude and phase angle. Experimental results of motor's starting characteristics with using the DC-AMP and PWM inverter for auxiliary winding power supply are shown. The drive is tested using a dynamometer to experimentally verify the results of the theory.

대형 하이브리드 트럭용 열전 무시동 공조시스템 성능 연구 (Performance of Non-starting Conditioning System using Thermoelectric Modules for Hybrid Heavy Trucks)

  • To reduce vehicle fuel consumption due to not only driving but also air conditioning, battery-operated non-starting conditioning systems with thermoelectric modules and without mechanical elements like compressors are being manufactured for use by hybrid heavy trucks in the near future. In this study, the voltage and current consumed by a thermoelectric module were measured to determine the required battery power, and the performance of the conditioning system with air temperature, and humidity of the inlet/outlet modules and inside/outside the cabin for a truck, was evaluated using experimental apparatus under actual conditions. The results showed that, the thermoelectric module can be continously operated for about 1.5 h using existing 24 V batteries. The coefficent of performance(COP) of the cooling and heating modes was calculated to be an average 0.8-1.32. As expected, the heating performance was 30% more efficient than the cooling performance, which is general characteristic of thermoelectric modules.

  • This paper presents a novel method to detect the rotor position of the BrushLess DC(BLDC) motor at standstill and a start-up method to accelerate the rotor up to a certain speed where the conventional position sensorless control methods based on the back EMF could work reasonably The proposed initial rotor position estimation method is suitable to avoid the temporary reverse rotation or the starting failure. This method can be implemented using only one current sensor at DC link of the inverter. It does not depend on the model of the motor , and it is robust to motor parameter variations. By the proposed method, it is demonstrated experimentally that a stable starting can be achieved even with severe mechanical disturbance.

  • In this paper. to estimate starting torque of synchronous motor by simple test, we propose a new method which is the combination of commercial tests and single phase AC applied test of synchronous motor. A driving characteristic was examined when field winding is supplied a de and chopper current. The starting characteristics are assumed and agreed with actual data.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method which estimates the initial position of a PM synchronous motor (PMSM) using an incremental ecoder. in cremental encoders are widely used in detecting rotor position since they are inexpensive. At starting procedure, however, the incremental encoders cannot give the information of the absolute rotor position. Hence, additional absolue encoder, which has $60^{\circ}C$ resolutio electrically, and signal lines called U, V, W, have been used in practical systems for starting injection of a high frequency test current. It does not require any additional information such as U, V, W signals for starting procedure and allows for cheap and simple implementation. Experimental results show that the proposed method can estimate the initial rotor positon with higher accuracy than the conventional method using U, V, W signals.

  • 본 연구는 산업분야의 수많은 전기설비 시스템에 널리 사용되고 있으며 또 이중여자기로도 사용될 수 있는 권선형 유도전동기의 기동특성과 설계를 다루었다. 고정자는 재래색 3상 권선형 유도 전동기의 고정자와 동일하고 회전자 권선은 새로운 방법으로 재권선한 결과 기동토크로 크고 기동전류는 작으며 운전효율은 좋아졌다. 뿐만 아니라 슬립링과 브러쉬 및 외부저항의 필요성이 없어 구조가 간단하고 시스템 비용을 절약할 수 있을 뿐 아니라 유지보수비도 절약할 수 있었다.

  • This research used triac that is semi-conductor that act to static contact to overcome happened shortcoming been using mechanical centrifugal force switch usually Detect starting current of single phase induction motor and decided moving time. Therefore, could improve life of switch semipermanently.   • Three nearly identical superconducting fault current limiters (SFCLs) were connected in series to increase the voltage ratings. A slight difference in the quench starting point of individual SFCL units produced significantly imbalanced power distribution when connected in series. The imbalance was successfully removed by connecting a shunt resistor to one SFCL in parallel. 1.2 kV SFCL was designed with five current limiting elements and two or three shunt resistors.

대용량 유도기 기동 특성 모델링 및 전략적 기동 방법에 관한 연구 (Modeling and Strategic Startup Scheme for Large-Scaled Induction Motors)

  • 본 논문은 대용량 유도전동기가 기동할 때 발생하는 큰 돌입전류로 인해 PCC(Point of Common Coupling)에 심한 전압 강하가 발생하게 되어 기동에 실패하는 문제를 해결하기 위해 대상 유도전동기의 기동 특성과 배전계통을 모델링하고 시뮬레이션을 수행함으로써 유도기 기동시에 전압저하 현상을 해석하였다. 문제가 되는 유도전동기는 2500KVA 용량의 펌프용 농형 유도전동기로 리액터 기동법을 채용하고 있다. 2500KVA 유도전동기 한대의 기동에는 문제가 없으나 기동 완료 후 PCC 전압이 다소 떨어진다. 하지만 추가로 동일 용량의 유도전동기가 기동하게 되면 PCC의 심한 전압강하로 기동에 실패하게 되는 문제가 발생하였다. 이러한 문제 해결을 위해 본 논문에서는 실제 기기의 기동시 토크-속도 곡선을 이용한 유도전동기의 기동 특성을 정확히 모델링하고 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 두 대의 대용량 유도전동기가 순차적으로 기동에 성공할 수 있는 적절한 전압보상 방안을 제안하였다. 본 논문에서 논의되는 대용량 유도전동기는 한국수자원공사의 취수장에서 운전되고 있으며 대상 유도전동기 및 배전계통은 PSCAD/EMTDC 소프트웨어를 사용하여 모델링 및 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.
