기술수준에 따른 서비스업 혁신 중소기업의 생존기간 비교분석 (Comparative Analysis of Survival Period by Technological Capabilities of Innovative SMEs in the Service Industry)

  • 약 22,500개의 서비스업 혁신 중소기업을 대상으로 기술수준에 따른 생존기간을 분석하였다. 생존기간은 연체 및 부도의 발생으로 정의하였으며, 기술수준은 기술력 우수기업 군집(T1-T4등급)과 혁신금융 적합기업 군집(T5-T6등급)으로 구분하였다. 카플란-마이어 분석을 통해 기술수준에 따른 생존기간을 추정한 결과 연체와 부도 모두에서 T1-T4등급 서비스업 혁신 중소기업의 추정 생존기간이 T5-T6등급 서비스업 혁신 중소기업에 비해 유의하게 큰 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 기술수준의 생존기간에 대한 영향력이 통제변수를 적용했을 때에도 유지되는지 Cox 비례위험 모형을 통해 확인하였다. 분석 결과 창업기업군(업력 7년 이하)에서는 기술수준이 낮을수록 위험도가 증가하는 것으로 확인되었지만, 비(非)창업기업군(업력 7년 초과)에서는 기술수준이 생존기간에 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하며 기업의 규모와 관련된 변수의 영향력이 커지는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 기술수준은 서비스업 창업기업군에서 혁신 중소기업의 생존기간에 유의한 영향력이 있는 부가정보로 의미가 있으며, 서비스업 창업기업군의 중소기업 지원정책 및 육성정책 수립 시 기술수준에 대한 반영이 필요하다는 결론을 도출하였다.

중소기업의 성장단계별 지원정책에 관한 탐색적 연구 -충청남도 천안·아산지역을 중심으로- (An Exploratory Study of business support policy by growth phases for Small and medium sized enterprises -Focused on Cheonan and Asan in ChungNam-)

  • 본 연구는 충남(천안 아산)지역 중소기업을 대상으로 성장단계별(창업 성장 확장)기업이 필요로 하는 지원정책을 측정하기 위하여 시도 되었다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 창업단계에서는 자금과 인력, 판로, 기술 그리고 창업 성장 확장단계는 조직 관리를 핵심역할로 인식하였다. 지원정책 관련, 창업단계에서는 자금, 성장단계는 국내마케팅과 인력, 확장단계는 해외마케팅과 연구개발지원을 성장단계별 필요한 지원정책으로 인식하였다. 둘째, 경향방향(방침) 관련, 창업단계는 기존시장진입과 틈새시장진입을 성장단계에서는 시장창출로 인식하였다. 셋째, 핵심인력은 창업단계는 기술과 영업 그리고 경영기획인력, 창업과 확장단계는 마케팅, 확장단계에서는 생산인력을 성장단계별 핵심인력으로 인식하였다. 넷째, 자금은 창업과 성장단계는 기술개발자금, 공장입지확보자금, 인력운영자금, 판로확보자금, 운영자금을 확장단계는 설비투자자금을 성장단계별 필요자금으로 인식하였다. 다섯째, 중점기술 관련, 창업단계는 신제품개발, 기존제품개선, 기존공정개선, 신공정개발, 성장단계는 가공기술, 확장단계에서는 신공정개발을 성장단계별 중점기술로 인식하였다. 여섯째, 판매방식 관련, 창업단계는 대기업납품, 해외시장판매, 공공기관납품, 중소기업납품으로 인식하였다. 일곱째, 창업단계에서는 창업보육지원, 연구개발 지원, 정보교류, 연구개발성과 활용 및 판매지원, 공장설립 입지지원으로 인식하였다. 경영관리와 관련, 성장단계는 교육, 확장단계에서는 시험생산을 지역기관에 요구하는 지원프로그램으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다.

기술창업시 전략적 지향성이 창업성과에 미치는 영향 (A Study of the Impacts of Strategic Orientation on the Performance in Technology-based Start-ups)

  • Purpose - Appropriate response to the fast changing economic environment determines SMEs' competiveness in the era of globalization and open market and, therefore, government policies to strengthen SME's competitiveness will be very important in the future. It is time to investigate the element of strategic orientation that is necessary for strengthening the competitiveness of SMEs, and its effect on the success of a business start-up. This study analyzes the network orientation in addition to existing strategic orientation, and focuses on price and quality management capability as mediators for strategic orientation and outcomes of business start-ups. Research design/data/methodology - The orientations of technology-based business founders were classified into market, technology, network, and entrepreneurial orientation. We then investigated the effect of these orientations on product price and quality management capability, as well as the influence of price and quality management capability on the outcome of a business start-up. This study is based on the nation-wide survey of the founders and members of technology-based business establishments. The survey was administered to 300 selected companies via email for a period of one month, at the end of which 175 companies replied with valid answers. Further, for effective and objective research, we used SPSS 14.0 and Amos 7.0 for structural equation modeling assumptions and hypothesis verification. Results - Except for entrepreneurial orientation, the other three orientations, namely, technology, market, and network orientations, affect the price management capability according to our results. The price management capability relates significantly with the sales and customer satisfaction. Especially, technology orientation is the core competency of start-ups that affects price and quality management capabilities. However, technology and entrepreneurial orientation do not influence the outcome of business start-ups, but affect their quality management capabilities. Conclusions - This study confirms that the strategic orientation affects product price as well as quality management capabilities, to introduce new products and achieve successful outcomes. In conclusion, new business founders face the dilemma of trade-off between price and quality in the planning stage of new product development. In particular, price management capability directly affects the outcome. Therefore, price management is more important for a successful start-up than quality management. Especially, during the initial stages of starting up a new business, price management capability entails following the market-leading company, or price penetration strategy. In this stage, price management is dependent on the information from outside rather than on the founder's decision, and it directly affects sales performance and customer satisfaction. In contrast, quality management capability is directly related to the technology capability and market experience of founders. In this case, subjective and proactive decision making is required for differentiation and development of demand in the niche market, which does not directly influence the sales performance and customer satisfaction.

정보통신분야 중소벤처기업 지원정책에 관한 인지지도 분석 (Cognitive Map Analysis on the Policy of SMEs and Ventures in the Field of Information Technology)

  • 본 연구에서는 이명박 대통령의 연설문과 지식경제부의 IT중소벤처기업 지원정책에 대한 내용을 토대로 심층적인 인지지도 분석을 하였다. 또한 정책수단변수와 정책목표변수간의 관계분석을 통해 정책목표를 도출하고, 종합적인 인지지도를 활용하여 성장역량강화, 투자활성화, 창업활성화, 기술경쟁력 제고, 글로벌화, 고용창출 등 정보통신분야 중소벤처기업 지원정책방향을 제시하였다. 그리고 IT중소벤처기업 지원정책의 인지지도 분석을 통해 피드백 루프가 별로 없다는 점과 IT중소벤처기업 지원정책이 선순환 구조를 가지고 있는 양의 피드백 루프구조라는 것을 발견했다.

농업 분야 국가 R&D 기술이전 사업화 성공 요인 분석 (A Study on the Success Factors of National R&D Commercialization in Agriculture)

  • This study identifies the commercialization success factors that can be an important indicator for the transfer and commercialization of national R&D results in the agricultural sector. Unlike other industries, the agricultural sector has a non-systematically scaled and processed industrial structure, and R&D is led by government rather than the private sector. Although the quantitative performance of national agricultural R&D, especially the number of patents and publications, has increased rapidly with the quantitative expansion of the government R&D budget, the technology commercialization of the results of agricultural R&D has been accompanied by difficulties for SMEs. Therefore, this study summarized the success factors for commercialization of state-owned technologies presented in previous studies, and based on them, analysed the success factors for commercialization specific to the agricultural sector. It also conducted a questionnaire survey using Delphi and focus group interviews (FGI) with experts from academia, research and industry, and a survey of agricultural companies to derive success factors for commercialization in the agricultural sector using logistic regression analysis. As a result, five indicators with positive correlation and three indicators with negative correlation within technology characteristics, suppliers, adopters, policy and market factors were finally derived as key factors for agricultural commercialization. In the future, it is expected that independent factor analysis of the food and seed sectors, which have independent industry characteristics from the agricultural sector, will be needed.

코로나19 이후 ICT 중소벤처기업 정책 딜레마분석 (A Policy Dilemma Analysis on ICT SMEs after COVID19)

  • This study analyzed the policy dilemma for ICT SMEs venture companies that changed after COVID-19 based on the results of the cognitive map analysis for ICT SMEs venture policies. First, as a result of analyzing the cognitive map of ICT SMEs venture companies that have changed since COVID-19, ICT venture companies are expanding support for ICT venture companies due to the threat of COVID-19. However, in order to convert COVID-19 into an opportunity factor, it also shows a policy direction to achieve innovative growth by creating a new market through non-face-to-face industry revitalization based on digital transformation (digital new deal). As a result of the study, the policy measures of supporting DNA-centered convergence innovation technology, digital transformation (digital new deal), fostering ICT startups (K-Global project), and expanding support for ICT SMEs did not have a policy dilemma. However, although many support has been expanded for ICT SMEs due to COVID-19, it is difficult to find and foster ICT start-up companies, and globalization problems are occurring due to the decrease in exports to COVID-19, making it difficult to create new markets. There is a negative (-) perception of causality that ICT SMEs venture companies may face risks as jobs decrease and innovative growth cannot be led to the revitalization of the non-face-to-face industry. Therefore, it was found that both the flow of causal relationship between the expansion of support for ICT SMEs and the high growth of ICT SMEs is not + and has a policy dilemma in part.

융합인재교육(STEAM)에 의한 융복합 교과목 중소기업 창업컨설팅 개발 (A Study on Development of SMEs Start-up Consulting Course by Convergence subject STEAM)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 정부나 대학에서 학생 취업을 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 이를 위해 취업에 도움이 되는 융 복합 교양지식 과목으로 다학제적인 지식을 요구하는 창업컨설팅 교과목 개발하게 되었다. 결과 도출을 위해 창업학 관련 대학 및 대학원의 교육과정과, 컨설팅 관련 경영컨설팅, 창업컨설팅 교육과정을 비교한 결과를 정부가 제시한 인재융합교육(STEAM)의 규칙에 따라 강의계획서를 고찰하였다, 연구결과 15주 교과에 맞추어 대분류 5단계, 소분류 15개로 나누었고, 1단계 기업이해는 인문 예술(Arts), 2단계 컨설팅능력은 기술(Technology) 3단계 창업전략은 기술(Technology) 4단계 세부컨설팅은 융합(STEAM) 5단계 경영사례분석은 예술(Arts)로 적용할 수 있었다.

An Exploratory Study on the Effect of Start-up Orientation in Business Performance

  • Purpose - The purpose of this study is to analyze the start-up factors in start-up tourism companies and to analyze how these factors influence business performance. This study will be conducted for the further exploratory study with in-depth research with literature reviews, interviews and surveys. Research design, data, and Methodology - The activation of entrepreneurship is very important factor as for not only the development of entrepreneurship which is the characteristic of the innovative and risks-taking for the success of the enterprise, but also the sustainable growth and creation of performance of the entrepreneur. In other words, if it is the entrepreneurial spirit affects entrepreneurship, it is entrepreneurial orientation that continuously affects entrepreneurs. In order to achieve the above purposes, this study conducted literature research and empirical studies. Result & Conclusions - The sub-factors for independent entrepreneurial variables' orientation are classified as creativity, technological, enterprising, and innovation, and subordinate variables were set of management performance. The sub-factors of the control variable government support policy are classified as financial support, consulting support, and marketing support. For the purpose of empirical analysis, this paper collects data on companies selected for tourism venture business competition and CEOs of SMEs tourism for less than 7 years.

The Effect of Entrepreneurship of SMEs on Corporate Capabilities, Dynamic Capability and Technical Performances in South Korea

  • There has been a recent increase in the interest towards founding companies and in line with the South Korean Government's policy on start-up support, discussions are rife about the effect of entrepreneurship on the management and performances of these companies. To enhance the competitiveness of SMEs, it is expedient to acquire and deploy consistent entrepreneurship, differentiate corporate resources, ensure the appropriate utilization of resources and the integration of such factors in response to the changing environment. This research examines relationships among entrepreneurship, three components of corporate capabilities, dynamic capability and technical performance based on resource-based view and the dynamic capability theory. The authors also investigate the moderating role of corporate life cycle. To test the hypothesis, we conducted a survey on 352 technologies -innovative SMEs located in South Korea via professional research institutes. The findings confirm the hypothesis that SMEs' entrepreneurship has a positive effect on three kinds of corporate capabilities (e.g., marketing, R&D, operations capability), and it had a positive effect on dynamic capability, whiles dynamic capability also had an influence on technical performances. The findings also confirmed the hypothesis that corporate life cycle moderates the relationship between dynamic capability and technical performances respectively. The research implications for both practitioners and academicians are discussed.

청년창업기업(20~30대)의 생존특성에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on Survival Characteristics of Young Start-up Entrepreneurs(20~30s))

  • 본 연구의 목적은 청년창업보증을 지원 받은 청년창업기업의 비재무정보를 활용하여 비모수적 방법인 카플란마이어 분석(Kaplanr-Meier Analysis)으로 생존율 및 생존특성에 대해 분석하였다. 창업자의 연령을 20대와 30대로 구분하여 생존특성별 평균생존시간을 추정하고 생존시간에 영향을 미치는 주요 변수를 분석하였다. 연구대상은 2014년 신용보증기관에서 청년창업보증을 지원 받은 기업 3825개가 표본으로 선정되었으며, 이중 정상기업는 3242개, 부실기업는 583개이다. 연구대상기간은 2011년 1월 1일부터 2017년 12월 31일까지로 정하여 생존분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 창업자의 연령별 구분 결과 20대는 3개의 변수가 30대는 5개의 변수가 유의한 변수로 도출되어 20대와 30대의 창업자 연령에 따른 차이가 발생하고 있다. 창업지원기관과 금융기관은 창업자 연령을 구분한 신용평가시스템의 개발이 필요하며, 20대 창업자의 특성을 반영할 수 있는 정보를 찾아내고, 20대 창업자를 위한 전용 금융상품의 개발이 필요하다. 또한 생존시간이 긴 창업기업에 대해서는 유망중소기업으로 성장할 수 있도록 단계별 지원방안이 필요하며, 생존시간이 짧은 기업에 대해서는 금융지원과 경영컨설팅 등 비금융지원의 활성화가 필요하다. 본 연구는 청년창업기업의 비재무정보를 이용하여 생존분석을 수행하였다는 점에서 의의가 있으며, 이와 같은 생존분석결과는 창업지원기관과 창업자에게 창업기업의 생존특성 정보를 제공하여 창업기업의 생존율을 높이는데 기여할 것이다.
