  • The equilibrium moisture contents (EMC) in seeds of four Echinochloa (E. crus-galli var. crus-galli, E. crus-galli var, echinata, E. crus-galli var. praticola, E. esculenta) were measured at $20^{\circ}C$ with equilibration over a series of lithium chloride solutions with relative humidities ranging from 0.11 to 0.8 to determine sorption isotherms and safe storage relative humidity. Standard seed sorption isotherm models i.e. modified Henderson, modified Chung-Pfost, modified Halsey, modified Oswin and Guggenheim-Anderson-deBoer (GAB) equations were adopted to evaluate the goodness of fit to sorption isotherms. This study indicated that EMC of seeds was significantly different in four Echinochloa species at various relative humidity. The modified Oswin equations for E. crus-galli var. crou-galli, E. crus-galli var, echinata, E. esculenta and GAB equation for E. crus-galli var. praticola were adequate models for the EMC data. Seeds of four Echinochloa species have monolayer moisture contents when stored at RH < 0.1. These results show that seed moisture isotherm model should be selected according to genetic variation.

  • In this study, we apply a three-dimensional circulation model, MOHID (MOdelo $HIDrodin{\hat{a}}mico$), and reproduce oceanic variation around the East Asian seas including Korea in 2016. Simulation results are verified by using objective analysis fields (EN4, ARMOR3D, AVISO, and SIO products) and in-situ observation data (serial oceanographic and buoy data). Verification results show that general characteristics of the water temperature, sea level anomaly, surface velocity, and mixed layer depths simulated by MOHID are similar with those of the objective analysis fields in the East Asian seas. Especially, when buoy data in the coastal areas are compared, correlation coefficients of sea surface temperature and sea level anomaly are both over 0.8 and normalized standard deviations are between 0.85 and 1.15, respectively. However, it is analyzed that additional improvement would be necessary in the representation of thermocline structure in the East Sea and strong stratification phenomena in the Yellow and South Sea in summer.

  • In this paper we propose a mixed effects least squares support vector machine (LS-SVM) for the censored data which are observed from different groups. We use weights by which the randomly right censoring is taken into account in the nonlinear regression. The weights are formed with Kaplan-Meier estimates of censoring distribution. In the proposed model a random effects term representing inter-group variation is included. Furthermore generalized cross validation function is proposed for the selection of the optimal values of hyper-parameters. Experimental results are then presented which indicate the performance of the proposed LS-SVM by comparing with a standard LS-SVM for the censored data.

  • The implementation of business process management (BPM) systems in large number of business organizations transforms BPM system into such a level of maturity and tends to collect large repositories of business process (BP) models. This issue encourages BP flexibility that leads to a large number of process variants derived from the same model, but differing in structure, to be stored in the large repositories of BP models. Therefore, the repositories may include thousands of activities and related business objects with variation of requirements and quality of service. It is a common practice to customize processes from reference processes or templates in order to reduce the time and effort required to design and deploy processes on all levels. In order to address redundancy and underutilization problems, a generic process model, called as reference BP, is absolutely necessary to cover the best of process variants. This study aims to develop multiple-objective business process genetic algorithm (MOBPGA) to find a set of non-dominated (Pareto) solutions of business reference model to enhance conventional approach which considered only a single objective on creating BP reference model by using proximity score measurement. A mixed-integer linear program is constructed to evaluate performance of the proposed MOBPGA on small-scale problems by using standard measures for multiple-objective techniques. The results will show the viability of applying MOBPGA in terms of simultaneously maximizing proximity score measurement, minimizing total duration, and total costs of the selected reference model.

  • This study explored the feasibility of utilizing an SWCNT-coated fabric sensor for the development of a wearable motion sensing device. The extent of variation in electric resistance of the sensor material was evaluated by varying the fiber composition of the SWCNT-coated base fabrics, attachment methods, number of layers, and sensor width and length. 32 sensors were fabricated by employing different combinations of these variables. Using a custom-built experimental jig, the amount of voltage change in a fabric sensor as a function of the length was measured as the fabric sensors underwent loading-unloading test with induced strains of 30 %, 40 %, and 50 % at a frequency of 0.5 Hz. First-step analysis revealed the following: characteristics of the strain-voltage curves of the fabric sensors confirmed that 14 out of 32 sensors were evaluated as more suitable for measuring human joint movement, as they yield stable resistance values under tension-release conditions; furthermore, significantly stable resistance values were observed at each level of strain. Secondly, we analyzed the averaged maximum, minimum, and standard deviations at various strain levels. From this analysis, it was determined that the two-layer sensor structure and welding attachment method contributed to the improvement of sensing accuracy.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a standard putting green management program to prepare fast green suitable for international golf tournaments, and to conform whether the reported green speed model can be applied to the real field situations. The west course of Lakeside Country Club was selected for the case study. This study was initiated on August 1st, 2001 and continued through October 4th, 2001. The results are summarized as follows: 1. Following the long-term schedule, 'penncross' creeping bentgrass turf was mowed at 5.0mm(37days), 4.5mm(8days), 4.0mm(4days), 3.5mm(2days), 3.2mm(2days), 3.0mm(2days), 2.8mm(2days) and the mowing direction was changed daily. Variation of mowing height was reduced to a minimum range. Core aerification with deep tines was applied 19 days prior to the first practice round. Dry sand maintenance was top-dressed 2 times at 1.5mm/$m^2$ on the 17th day and 1.0mm/$m^2$ on the 10th day. Minimum irrigation was applied to keep the turf alive. During the tournament preparation week, dew on the putting greens was removed by using a sponge roller. Following the dew removal, the greens were cut once each morning at a height of 2.8mm. The mower used was the 21 inch working behind mower equipped with a tournament bedknife and 11 reel blades. Following the mowing, the peens were rolled with a light-weight roller in one direction in the morning. Rolling was used as a finishing technique to ensure that the surface was as smooth as possible, and to provide true ball roll and maximum green speed. In conclusion these management practices satisfied the daily green stimpmeter readings required for USGA championship play. 2. During the period of tournament preparation, no damage was observed on the green, but scalping in green edge appeared in about 0.39% of the total area of 18 greens in the west course.

  • The analysis of RF performance requirement conditions on communication system is critical indicator to predict the performance of system. UWB(Ultra Wide Band) system which the standard is not established yet is difficult to derive the precise system performance requirement condition. Also, there are differences between conventional UWB system and multi-band system about RF performance requirement condition. In this thesis, the differences are analyzed and performance requirement conditions of multi-band UWB system are described on the basis of the differences. Throughput, maximum transmit power, and sensitivity of multi-band UWB system is varied with respect to the number of Sub-Bands. In addition, because of Multi-path effect, if PRF(Pulse Repetition Frequency) is changed, the Multi-path link margin is happened to compensate for Multi-path Energy Loss which is contributed by increasing of the Link Margin. According to Multi-path Margin, the variation of the resistance with respect to sensitivity and interference signal is observed and analyzed through the simulation.

  • In chip plating, several parameters must be taken into consideration. Current density, solution concentration, pH, solution temperature, components volume, chip and media ratio, barrel geometrical shape were most likely found to have an effect to the process yields. The 3 types of barrels utilized in chip plating industry are the onventional rotating barrel, vibrational barrel(vibarrel), and the centrifugal type. Conventional rotating barrel is a close type and is commonly used. The components inside the barrel are circulated by the barrel's rotation at a horizontal axis. Process yield has known to have higher thickness deviation. The vibrational barrel is an open type which offers a wide exposure to electrolyte resulting to a stable thickness deviation. It rotates in a vertical axis coupled with multi-vibration action to facilitate mixed up and easy transportation of components. The centrifugal barrel has its plated work centrifugally compacted against the cathode ring for superior electrical contact with simultaneous rotary motion. This experiment has determined the effect of barrel vibration intensity to the plating thickness distribution. The procedures carried out in the experiment involved the overall plating process., cleaning, rinse, Nickel plating, Tin-Lead plating. Plating time was adjusted to meet the required specification. All other parameters were maintained constant. Two trials were performed to confirm the consistency of the result. The thickness data of the experiment conducted showed thatbthe average mean value obtained from higher vibrational intensity is nearer to the standard mean. The distribution curve shown has a narrower specification limits and it has a reduced variation around the target value. Generally, intensity control in vi-barrel facilitates mixed up and easy transportation of components. However, it is desirable to maintain an optimum vibration intensity to prevent solution intrusion into the chips' internal electrode. A cathodic reaction can occur in the interface of the external and internal electrode. 2H20 + e $\rightarrow$M/TEX> 20H + H2.. Hydrogen can penetrate into the body and create pressure which can cause cracks. At high intensity, the chip's motion becomes stronger, its contact between each other is delayed and so plating action is being controlled. However, the strong impact created by its collision can damage the external electrode's structure there by resulting to bad plating condition.

  • Signal measuring system to analyze ion concentrations in biofilm was constructed with ion selective microeleclrode and electrometer. In order to evaluate the performance and applicability of signal measuring system, the following characteristics, such as slope of calibration curve, detection limit, variation of response according to the time, and potentiometric selectivity coefficient, were investigated. The slope of calibration curve showed high degree of association for primary ion concentration. The response of the system was log-linear in standard solution down to $10{\mu}M$ and signal measuring system was not sensitive for interfering ions. In comparison with commercial electrometer, the fabricated electrometer system had similar tendencies for the slope of calibration curve, detection limit, and response time. Therefore the signal measuring system could be used to investigate ion profiles in biofilm as a cost effective and reliable measuring system.
