A study on application of eco-friendly follow-up process connected with livestock wastewater treatment plant using the upflow constructed wetland (가축분뇨처리시설과 연계한 상향류식 인공습지의 자연형 후속처리공정 적용방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study developed an up-flow wetland providing either an eco-friendly follow-up process of medium-sized public treatment facility for livestock manure or a non-point source pollution controller near livestock farms. The four bench-scale up-flow wetlands were operated with four different bed media sets. The removal efficiencies of the wetland effluent for CODCr, TN, TP, SS were 35.2 %, 29.5 %, 31.2 % and 52.2 % for set 1(Blank, without reed, with bio-ceramic), 40.6 %, 43.4 %, 42.2 % and 55.4 % for set 2(with bio-reed & without bio-ceramic), 45.2 %, 48.7 %, 46.6 % and 66.3 % for set 3(with bio-reed & bio-ceramic), 32.9 %, 27.3 %, 29.3 % and 54.1 % for Set 4(with reed & bio ceramic), respectively. The set 3 condition having a mixture of bio-reed and bio-ceramic showed the highest efficiency in the bench-scale evaluation. This study suggests a mixture of bio-reed and bio-ceramic as suitable bed media in the construction of artificial wetlands near livestock farms. Soils including the bed media were monitored during the evaluation for trace elements. Soil analysis results were satisfied with the Korean Soil Contamination Standard. This study showed that the up-flow constructed wetland was feasible to treat the effluent livestock wastewater treatment facility.

  • In liquid rocket engine turbopump, it is difficult to evaluate turbine performance for high pressure, high temperature circumstance. Turbine test is often done by using air at similarity condition so that the turbine can be tested at lower risk. This paper describes an air similarity test program of liquid rocket engine turbopump turbine. A test facility has been built to evaluate aerodynamic performance of turbines. The test facility consists of high pressure air supply system, mass flow rate measuring nozzle, test section, hydraulic break, exit orifice for pressure control, instrumentation and control system. This paper also presents how to decide the similarity conditions of the turbine test and describes how to control test conditions. Relative standard deviation of measurement parameter was less than 1% and measured turbine efficiency corresponded with analysis result within 2%.

Fragility Assessment of Agricultural Facilities Subjected to Volcanic Ash Fall Hazards (농업시설물에 대한 화산재 취약도 평가)

  • This paper presents findings from the assessment of the volcanic ash fragility for multi-hazard resisting vinyl greenhouse and livestock shed among the agricultural facilities. The volcanic ash fragility was evaluated by using a combination of the FOSM (first-order second-moment) method, available statistics of volcanic load, facility specifications, and building code. In this study, the evaluated volcanic ash fragilities represent the conditional probability of failure of the agricultural facilities over the full range of volcanic ash loads. For the evaluation, 6 types(ie., 2 single span, 2 tree crop, and 2 double span types) of multi-hazard resisting vinyl greenhouses and 3 types(ie., standard, coast, and mountain types) of livestock sheds are considered. All volcanic ash fragilities estimated in this study were fitted by using parameters of the GEV(generalized extreme value) distribution function, and the obtained parameters were complied into a database to be used in future. The volcanic ash fragilities obtained in this study are planning to be used to evaluate risk by volcanic ash when Mt. Baekdu erupts.

Development of a Factory Layout Design System using Leisure-Boat Building Process (레저보트 생산공정정보 기반의 공장 레이아웃 설계 시스템 개발)

  • The marine leisure industry in Korea has been the focus of the power of economic growth and the creation of jobs in recent years. In this regard, many studies concerning marine leisure are on-going in various fields. In this paper, developed a layout system and algorithm can resolve the factory and facility layout problem. For a layout design of leisure-boat factories, the leisure-boat production process is analyzed in order to derive standard production space elements for the layout of the factory. Based on the results, a draft design of the factory layout is carried out based on the manpower planning data, as well as the characteristics and relationships of each process data. A layout design of this paper can be verified through a factory simulation solution and we suggest the verification method using a SBD(simulation based design) methodology. The layout system takes into account the user's accessibility and extendibility, so it is web-oriented and uses RIA (rich Internet Application) technology. Furthermore, the system and layout algorithm of this paper are verified with samples data that show the efficient factory arrangement and practical application method.

Implementation of HL7 Interface Engine for Medical Information Exchange (의료정보 공유를 위한 HL7 인터페이스 엔진 구현)

  • Recently supply of Internet is bringing a important change in medical environments. The hospitals which had a different system is required the system that can efficiently share and exchange medical information. In order to transmission medical information between systems, the Health Level Seven(HL7) interface engine development that can convert medical data to HL7 messages is necessary. The HL7 is a standard protocol for data exchange in healthcare environments. In this paper, I implemented HL7 interface engine for Alzheimer's disease in elderly care facility. The interface engine is composed of the client system and the server system. The client system inputs user's medical care data for the aged, and builds them into HL7 message stream. HL7 messages in the client system transmitted over TCP/IP protocol to the server system. The server system parses and validates this messages stream to the segments and fields and then transmits acknowledgement to the client system. I implemented it using the Java and JavaCC. The study of interface engine implementation can be used meaningfully in electronic health record, telemedicine system, and medical information sharing among various healthcare institutions.

  • The case of rivers facilities works, expense the standard unit cost for the quality and a rough public corporation expense estimating of the rivers public corporation which is fixed form with the information available which it follows basic design phase absently and possibility of fluctuation. It exists many difficulties in rough public corporation expense estimating. The rivers public corporation expense rough estimating method of existing produces does not exist the amount of material of representative section of the rivers dike and the rough public corporation expense estimating method which is systematic with the method which multiples the seniority (M). The research sees the rough public corporation expense predictive model from the planning stage which is not basic design to consider the quality of the rivers facility public corporation. From this study, it can prevent the waste of national budget from the general public corporation and is more accurate and public corporation expense production possibly.

  • The megalopolis citizens are reevaluating the expectant value and the perception of leisure aceording to increasing the level of their incomes, The leisure of citizens is increasing in the aspect of quantity and quality of life nowadays In the site planning of leisure, the concrete understanding about people's choice of a leisure site will be the most important thing, not only for the aspect of improvement of the quality of life but also efficiencies of the land use The purposes of chi study are firstly, to find out the factors which are influenced on a choice of Outdoor leisure facilities in neighbourhood unit and to Compare the Characteristics Of Choice models between the three metropolitan areas, secondly, to predict a limitation of use areal according to the change of a needed time based on the metropolitan's standard choice model For the choice model establishment this research used Logit Model which has been used in the field of the traffic, the tourism and the economics. This research made the results which find out the influencing variables with needed times, the accessibility and the percentage of facilities. The lindtations of use areas come out the results which are predicted according to the change of needed times as a most influencing factors. The range of each preferred leisure facility is about 956 meter distant in the neighbourhood park about 644 meter distant in the pocket park about 604 meter distant in the recreation center, about 628 meter distant in the tennis court about 974 meter distant in the private hob by facility and about 528 meter distant in the library from the apartment unit The recreation center and the library are nearer facilities than the other facilities. But these facilities are surveyed to be more or less influenced by an interesting progran, a context of events and the level of useful facilities, etc.

  • Establishing a public transportation transfer system that can reduce personal automobile use in the CBD and absorb the demand, thereby reducing congestion, is a necessity. However, the current transfer system and facilities are lacking in intermodal connectivity, require long transfer times, have complex flow patterns, and are lacking in information systems and convenience. The design analysis program of this study is to develop a program that executes computations of design analysis of transfer facilities by utilizing the existing design standards for facilities such as facilities for boarding and alighting, elements for convenience, and pedestrian facilities. Developing an analytical tool through which individual or integrated design analysis can be conducted on the design standards of various facilities is an important study for improving the work accuracy and efficiency of designing an actual transfer center.

A Study on the Durability of Manure Composting Facilities (축분 퇴비화 시설 내구성에 관한 조사연구)

  • Manure compost is a main product from animal wastes in Korea. Solid manure is usually treated by aerobic composting at manure composting facilities for land reinforcement. Agricultural use of manure compost as organic fertilizer resources, mainly manure compost, is now recommended in Korea. This study investigated the evaluation of durability about the manure composting machinery and structures which was controlled by aeration and periodic agitating. The questionnaire addressed three main topics as follows: operating practices, machinery and maintenance of the manure composting facilities are being operated. A total of the 22 manure composting facilities in an agricultural cooperative were surveyed. The results obtained in this survey were summarized as follow: The major causes of manure composting apparatus trouble were corrosion and wear, overloading and foreign matter etc. The highly trouble frequency of the agitator, packer and conveyor were chain, agitating blade and shaft, motor and screw vane, respectively. These analytical results can be used as basic information to establish the maintenance control methods and durability standard of manure composting facility.

  • Recently, there has been a lot of research on the construction of smart factory in the 4th Industrial Revolution era. Among the various technologies involved in the deployment of smart factory, one of the key technologies is the IoT protocol sector that handles the transmission and reception of data. In this regard, the MQTT protocol is generally used most commonly, but the existing MQTT technology lacks the concept of priorities of messages, so it is somewhat insufficient to be applied to an industrial field requiring real-time property. Priority handling of urgent messages is critical, especially in emergency situations, such as the emergency shutdown of the entire relevant facility following the failure of a particular facility. To improve this, research on priority-based MQTT is being conducted somewhat, but these studies have problems with actual field use because they are a variant of the MQTT standard. Therefore, this study conducts and verifies studies related to MQTT, which can prioritize messages while adhering to existing MQTT standards.
