  • In this paper, the effect of the turbulence intensity in across-wind direction on the wind load in CFD(Computational fluid dynamics) simulation was analyzed. 'Ansys fluent' software was used for CFD simulation. And the fluctuating wind speed applied to the simulation was generated according to Korean Design Standard and Von Karman wind turbulence model. The turbulence intensity in across-wind direction for simulation was applied from 0 to 100% of the turbulence intensity in along-wind direction. The analysis results showed that the turbulence intensity in across-wind direction had a particularly great effect on the wind load in across-wind direction.

  • In this paper, we present a new design for angle-sensitive pixels (ASPs). The proposed ASPs take advantage of subwavelength compound gratings to capture the light angle, which enables pixel size to reach the wavelength scale of 0.7 ㎛ × 0.7 ㎛. The subwavelength compound gratings are implemented by the wires of the readout circuit inherent to the standard complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor manufacturing process, thus avoiding additional off-chip optics or post-processing. This technique allows the use of two pixels for horizontal or vertical angle detection, and can determine the light's angle in the range from -45° to +45°. The proposed sensor enables surface-profile reconstruction of microscale samples using a lensless imaging system.

  • Metal additive manufacturing (AM), also known as metal three-dimensional (3D) printing, produces 3D metal products by repeatedly adding and solidifying metal materials layer by layer. During the metal AM process, products experience repeated local melting and cooling using a laser or electron beam, resulting in product defects, such as warpage, cracks, and internal pores. Such defects adversely affect the final product. This paper proposes the in situ monitoring-based warpage prediction of metal AM products with experimental feature extraction. The temperature profile of the metal AM substrate during the process was experimentally collected. Time-domain features were extracted from the temperature profile, and their relationships to the warpage mechanism were investigated. The standard deviation showed a significant linear correlation with warpage. The findings from this study are expected to contribute to optimizing process parameters for metal AM warpage reduction.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to define a standard score of Sensory Processing Scale for Children (SPS-C) and its concurrent validity by correlation with the Short Sensory Profile (SSP). Methods : The subjects were children enrolled in nurseries and kindergartens in Busan and Gyeongnam. We defined the standard score of the SPS-C and identified its concurrent validity for 337 children. Both the SPS-C and SSP instruments were used to assess the children's sensory processing ability. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 24.0. A statistical analysis was used to define the standard score for SPS-C based on the mean and SDs of -1 and -2. To identify the concurrent validity of the SPS-C, the correlation between it and SSP was measured using Pearson's correlation analysis. Results : The ranges of total standard scores on the SPS-C were classified as follows: 115~160 indicated "Typical Performance"; 105~114 indicated "Probable Difference"; and finally, 50~104 indicated "Definite Difference." Concurrent validity was ascertained using the Pearson correlation between the total scores of the SPS-C and the SSP; the Pearson correlation coefficient was .755, indicating a statistically significant correlation. Conclusion : This study suggests the standard score of the SPS-C for interpreting results in clinical settings and confirms that it is a valid tool for evaluating children's sensory processing ability.

  • In Korea there is still no basic standard for organic agriculture and organic farmers in Korea do not follow the minimum requirements of IFOAM basic standard Most of them just practice the organic agriculture applying organic fertilizer, commercial seed without legume, rotation and green manure. But they believe this system is a absolutely environmental friendly agricultural system and it produce a safe agricultural product since they are not aware of the basic standard of organic agriculture at all. The overuse of organic fertilizer by some organic farmer have caused some severe problems risk for nitrate and phosphate leaching. In soil profile showed the potential risk for nitrate and phosphate leaching. In the paper, it is discussed on the environmental friendly function and the safe vegetable production by european organic agriculture which keeps the internationally recognized basic standards of organic agriculture. Therefore it is strongly recommended that korean organic farmer have to follow the IFOAM it is strongly in order to practice the environmental agriculture and produce the safe food. And it is also necessary to introduce to Korea the basic standard of organic agriculture which coincides with IFOAM's and Codex of FAO/WHO immediately if they really want to practice an organic agriculture in the country.

  • Structural deterioration of the bioprosthetic xenograft valves due to primary tissue failure occurs in two modes: from fatigue lesions with tear and wear with or without calcification and from calcification with obstruction. Two groups of consecutive 56 patients with the Hancock porcine ortic valve(HM) and of 1 13 patients with the standard-profile onescu-Shiley bovine pericardial valve(ISM) explanted from mitral position at the time of re-replacement surgery for primary tissue failure at Seoul national University Hospital until 1994, were studied for clinical and pathological features. Their ages at primary implant were 31.9 $\pm$9.2 years In HM and 30.4$\pm$ 12.5 years in ISM. Hemodrnamic dysfunction of the failed mitral bloprostheses were predominantly insufficiency in HM(64.3%) and stenosis in ISM(51.3%)(p<0.001). Pathologic findings of the explanted mitral valves reflected these hemodynamic changes, revealing failure more often from tissue damage(tears and wears) in HM and more often from calcification in ISM(p< 0.001). Explant period(from primary implant to explant) was relatively short in ISM(8.7$\pm$2.6years), compared with the one in HM(10.4 $\pm$2.6 years)(p<0.001). In conclusion, both the Hancock and the lonescu-shiley valves would fail from calcification as well as issue damage. However, while the Hancock porcine valves in mitral position failed more frequently from tissue failure and insufficiency, the standard-profile lonescu-Shiley pericardial valves did from calcification and stenosis, especially in young pAtients . Although the possibility of less occurrence of valve failure from mechanical reasons may be expected with newer generation bloprostheses, it does not seem to Improve durability significantly unless further refinement in antimineralization is achieved. Therefore, clinical use of the glutaraldehyde-treated bioprosthetic valves is, at present, limited to the patients of advanced age groups.

  • The full depth excavation induces couple of technical and social problems like increase of construction cost and time for excavation and backfill, increase of public complains and delay of traffic, and so force. In order to overcome these problems, lots of laboratory tests were carried out for sewer pipeline of maintenance materials with trenchless methods. The testing materials are PVC strip and then the lab tests were followed by Korean Standard. We will treat the structure safety and pipe integrity of PVC profile more excellent than the profile have application to SPR. There is no side-effect to process and to satisfy the criteria of tensile strength, impact strength and softening temperature. The profile with resin adhesive showed no leakage of water at specific pressure.

  • An in-situ probe-based spectrophotometer has been developed. This system used two spectrometers to measure soil reflectance spectra from 450 nm to 2200 nm. It collects soil electrical conductivity (EC) and insertion force measurements in addition to the optical data. Six fields in Kansas were mapped with the VIS-NIR (visible-near infrared) probe module and sampled for calibration and validation. Results showed that VIS-NIR correlated well with carbon in all six fields, with RPD (the ratio of standard deviation to root mean square error of prediction) of 1.8 or better, RMSE of 0.14 to 0.22%, and $R^2$ of 0.69 to 0.89. From the investigation of carbon variability within the soil profile and by tillage practice, the 0-5 cm depth in a no-till field contained significantly higher levels of carbon than any other locations. Using the selected calibration model with the soil NIR probe data, a soil profile map of estimated carbon was produced, and it was found that estimated carbon values are highly correlated to the lab values. The array of sensors (VIS-NIR, electrical conductivity, insertion force) used in the probe allowed estimating bulk density, and three of the six fields were satisfactory. The VIS-NIR probe also showed the obtained spectra data were well correlated with nitrogen for all fields with RPD scores of 1.84 or better and coefficient of determination ($R^2$) of 0.7 or higher.
