Improvement of Tentative Korean Standard Differentiation of the Symptoms and Signs for Stroke for Clinical Application (중풍변증표준안 진료기록부 임상적용을 위한 증례기록부와 표준작업지침서의 개선과정)

  • This study was done to report the improvement of second case report form(CRF) and standard operating procedure(SOP) of Tentative Korean Standard Differentiation of the Symptoms and Signs for Stroke. We were in charge of developing case report form(CRF) and educating the investigators. In the process of this project, we needed to develop standard operating procedure(SOP) for this CRF. So we made Tentative Korean Standard Differentiation of the Symptoms and Signs for Stroke and tried clinical application at Department of Oriental Internal Medicine of Wonkwang University and Daejeon University in 2005. And in this pilot study we can find out some problems and need to improve it. We strengthen the incision and exclusion criteria of CRF We canceled the Chief complains entry for efficiency. We reflected the decision of Stroke standard committee. We reduced the differentiation index of CRF to promote efficiency and accuracy. We rearranged the order of the differentiation index to promote rationality and practicality. We regulated detail item belonging to Differentiation index. We used a colloquialism in question. We inserted flow chart in SOP. We inserted picture of diagnostic index.

  • Systematic management of data related to business process, and information exchange within existing information systems or between different companies have recently become an important issue. This paper tries to solve such problems by using form based workflow system using XML(extensible Markup Language), a standard for digital document exchange. In this system, a new model that formalizes documents into XML form documents and manages them is developed. By defining and operating form documents by XML, information exchange within existing information systems such as ERP and SCM or between different companies, and interoperability between different WFMS can be easily achieved. In addition, by matching form, a formalized document, with existing database schema, WFMS can be directly applied to existing information system, thus enabling continuity of data management and business activity.

Finite element analysis of 2D turbulent flows using the logarithmic form of the κ-ε model

  • The logarithmic form for turbulent flow analysis guarantees the positivity of the turbulence variables as ${\kappa}$ and ${\varepsilon}$ of the ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model by using the natural logarithm of these variables. In the present study, the logarithmic form is incorporated into the finite element solution procedure for the unsteady turbulent flow analysis. A backward facing step flow using the standard ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model and a flow around a 2D square cylinder using the modified ${\kappa}-{\varepsilon}$ model (the Kato-Launder model) are simulated. These results show that the logarithmic form effectively keeps adequate balance of turbulence variables and makes the analysis stable during transient or unsteady processes.

  • Closed form solutions for equilibrium and flexibility matrices of the Mindlin-Reissner theory based eight-node rectangular plate bending element (MRP8) using Integrated Force Method (IFM) are presented in this paper. Though these closed form solutions of equilibrium and flexibility matrices are applicable to plate bending problems with square/rectangular boundaries, they reduce the computational time significantly and give more exact solutions. Presented closed form solutions are validated by solving large number of standard square/rectangular plate bending benchmark problems for deflections and moments and the results are compared with those of similar displacement-based eight-node quadrilateral plate bending elements available in the literature. The results are also compared with the exact solutions.

  • According to development of acu-figure which has been existed in Korea, China and Japan through successive generation and conservation status, I classified the process of manufacture of Standard Acu-Figure that is the first manufactured form in Korea historically. And conclusion was as follows. In history, the first acu-figure was manufactured in Song(宋) Dynasty by Wang Yu Il(王維一). after that acu-figure had been made various type in the each countries. In japan, Cheon Seong Acu-Figure(天聖銅人) was imported and preserved and similar shape acu-figure was manufactured. In Korea, Chim Geum Acu-Statue(鍼金銅像) is unique acu-figure that is conservated and exhibited in museum. Standard Acu-Figure was manufactured after the model of standard human body. First step process of standard acu-figure manufacture undertook at my lab, next step, investigation, discussion, reform was proceeded along with other chief professors major in meridian and acupuncture point.

  • To study of binder and fine aggregate a lot of replacement fly-ash concrete, initial characteristics, standard environment of curing temperature $20^{\circ}C$, hot-weather environment of curing temperature $35^{\circ}C$, . Flesh concrete tested slump. air contest and Hardening concrete valuated setting period of form, day of age 1, 3, 5. 7, 10, 28 compression strength in sealing curing. Purpose of study is consultation materials in field that variety of fly-ash replacement concrete mix proportion comparison and valuation. (1) Experiment result age 28day compression strength more higher plan concrete then standard environment in curing temperature $20^{\circ}C$, , most strength F43 is hot-weather environment in curing temperature $35^{\circ}C$, replacement binder 25%, fine aggregate 15%. (2) Hot-weather environment replacement a mount of fly-ash is a same of plan concrete setting period of form. Age 28day compression strength replacement a mount of fly-ash more hot-weather concrete then plan concrete.

  • This research proposes an Integrated Product Information Model (IPIM) using STEP (Standard for the Exchange of product model data) for Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) of Concurrent Engineering (CE). IPIM is based on Geometry and Topology (STEP Part 42), Form Feature (STEP Part 48), and Tolerance (STEP Part 48) for representing the integrated information of mechanical parts. For the IPIM, 1) new entities are developed for integration of existing entities, and 2) the existing entities are restructured and modified for a special application protocol. In CIM or CE, the advantages of using IPIM having integrated form of geometry, feature and tolerance are 1) integration of product design, process design and manufacturing sequentially or concurrently. 2) keep the product data consistency, modified by different domain, and 3) automatic data exchange between different application software and different hardware. The prototype system is composed of CAD, Data Probe, DBMS and SDAI (Standard Data Access Interface), and the generated STEP data is stored in a step file of DBMS for other applications.

  • When dealing with a controller design in the two parameter configuration, there are some situations when neither a known pseudo inverse technique nor the inverse method can be applicable. In this case, we propose two methods of designing a controller by the gradient algorithm and the new pseudo inverse method such that the designed closed loop polynomial may be equal to or nearly equal to the desired closed loop polynomial. We compare the proposed methods with the known methods. We use the Manabe standard form as a desired closed loop characteristic polynomial.

  • A phase different method to evaluate the instrument error of roundness measuring instrument and the form error of specimens for the calibration of the instrument is used. An instrument with a rotary table supported by an air bearing was calibrated by using the standard balls as a standard. The calibration was carried out repeatedly by setting the same ball in 12 phase angles(per 30.deg.) on the table and by recording their roundness errors with a magnification of 100,000 times. As a result of data analysis of all the observations, readout at each of 144 orientations(per 2.5.deg.) from recorded data file, the error of performance of the instrument and the specimens are separated. In the particular instrument used in the present experiment, the error of the instrument was determined with the accuracy of 0.0164 (.mu.m) and the form error of the specimens was determined with the accuracy of 0.0264,0.0172(.mu.m), respectively. If the instrument was calibrated by using the above specimens, then the accuracy of the measurement of roundness error can be improved to about 0.017 (.mu.m).

A "Fabric-First" Approach to Sustainable Tall Building Design

  • This research suggests the most effective way for improving energy efficiency in tall buildings is a "fabric-first" approach. This involves optimizing the performance of the building form and envelope as a first priority, with additional technologies a secondary consideration. The paper explores a specific fabric-first energy standard known as "Passivhaus". Buildings that meet this standard typically use 75% less heating and cooling. The results show tall buildings have an intrinsic advantage in achieving Passivhaus performance, as compared to low-rise buildings, due to their compact form, minimizing heat loss. This means high-rises can meet Passivhaus energy standards with double-glazing and moderate levels of insulation, as compared to other typologies where triple-glazing and super-insulation are commonplace. However, the author also suggests that designers need to develop strategies to minimize overheating in Passivhaus high-rises, and reduce the quantity of glazing typical in high-rise residential buildings, to improve their energy efficiency.
