  • In data transmission at the digital satellite broadcasting systems, the delay and spread are caused whit receiving original signals from the transmitter in the receiver. So, there are some problems in data fast transmission. Also, transmitted signals ate received in stale of the combination of transmission delay and noise of channel. The affect of channel noise is reduced when increasing transmission power, but as signal interference due to the transmission delay and spread of channel increase in proportion to the transmission power, there is a problem in spite of increasing the transmission power. And there is the problem to add ISI(inter symbol interference) because the property of the channel is limo-varying due to relative moving in the transceiver Therefore, in this paper, a pulse shaping filter for the high-speed service in digital satellite broadcasting systems was designed and reduced the ISI.

  • In this paper, a specification for wireless LAN MODEM using direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) technique is presented. Some algorithms and hardware architectures for an efficient implementation of the DS/SS MODEM are suggested. In the method, all baseband signal processing are done digitally for single chip implementation. Schemes of DQPSK baseband modulation/demodulation, despreading with digital matched filter, digital timing recovery, and efficient carrier sensing are among the discussed algorithms. We also performed various kinds of simulations to evaluate the system performance and to extract parameters for hardware implementation. In addition, the pictorial view of ASIC of the SS MODEM is also shown.

  • The production technology is the basic of manufacturing for various materials and components. This technology can influence the quality and productivity of leading export products such as automobile, ship, and electronic device. Besides, the production technology is very useful to apply to other manufacturing fields and has a great ripple effect. However, it is very difficult to make the production technology into standardization and knowledge-based database because the production technology is dependent in hands-on experience. In this study, the knowledge-sharing platform for the molding & forming technology which is a branch of the production technology is introduced. This platform is web-based system and has the knowledge authoring tool technologies storage, semantic database, and web portal service. Therefore, the molding & forming technology can be shared and spread easily by the knowledge-sharing platform.

  • The semiconductor, which is precision product, requires many inspection processes. The surface conditions of the semiconductor chip affect on the functions of the semiconductors. The defects of the chip surface are cracks or voids. As general inspection method requires many inspection procedure, the inspection system which searches immediately and precisely the defects of the semiconductor chip surface is required. We suggest the detection algorithm for inspecting the surface defects of the semiconductor surface. The proposed algorithm first regards the semiconductor surface as random texture and point spread function, and secondly presents the character of texture by linear estimation theorem. This paper assumes that the gray level of each pixel of an image is estimated from a weighted sum of gray levels of its neighbor pixels by linear estimation theorem. The weight coefficients are determined so that the mean square error is minimized. The obtained estimation window(two-dimensional estimation window) characterizes the surface texture of semiconductor and is used to discriminate the defects of semiconductor surface.

  • The time simulation of slow drift motions of moored FPSO in waves is presented. The equation of motion based on Cummin's theory of impulse responses are employed, and are consisted of horizonal plane -surge, sway and yaw. The added mass coefficients, wave damping coefficients, first order wave exciting forces and the second order wave drift forces involved in the equations are obtained from a three-dimensional panel method in the frequency domain. The mooring lines are modeled quasistatically as catenary for chains and touchdown. As for numerical example, time domain analyses are carried out for a box-type FPSO in long crest irregular wave condition.

  • The data transmission system in MAGLEV is required a high quality and high speed for a train safety and reliability driving. In the transmission channel between a vehicle and a ground-site, Gaussian noise is negligible, but impulse noise from the chopper controlled propulsoin unit and the Power supplying device is very severe. The transmission channel must be protected from these noise. In this paper, we propose a DSSS (direct-sequence spread spectrum) modulation as a new data transmission technique in the railway and analyze this data transmission characteristics.

  • In this paper, in order to effectively apply unitary space-time modulation to the direct-sequence spread-spectrum multiple-access (DSSS-MA) networks, we propose a low-rate, noncoherent, unitary, and space-time modulated DSSS system supporting any number of transmit antennas based on Walsh matrices. The proposed scheme simultaneously performs bandwidth spreading and space-time coding and outperforms those using high-rate, conventional unitary space-time constellations. Furthermore, the proposed scheme allows for a simple detector structure based on fast Walsh transforms.

  • The probability distribution of hold-in time and that of the time to reject false lock are investigated for the tracking procedure in spread spectrum communication systems. These are helpful in deciding dwell time and threshold level of correlatoi circuits. The probability distributions are derived by series expansion of generating function for discrete probability function and summation of the coefficients for corresponding terms. And the formulas described by general system parameters are obtained.

  • The most powerful and modern face recognition techniques are using deep learning methods that have provided impressive performance. The outbreak of COVID-19 pneumonia has spread worldwide, and people have begun to wear a face mask to prevent the spread of the virus, which has led existing face recognition methods to fail to identify people. Mainly, it pushes masked face recognition has become one of the most challenging problems in the face recognition domain. However, deep learning methods require numerous data samples, and it is challenging to find benchmarks of masked face datasets available to the public. In this work, we develop a new simulated masked face dataset that we can use for masked face recognition tasks. To evaluate the usability of the proposed dataset, we also retrained the dataset with ArcFace based system, which is one the most popular state-of-the-art face recognition methods.

  • In this paper, we construct a monkeypox model which is similar to smallpox infection. It is caused by a monkeypox virus which is related to Poxviridae family. It will occur mostly in West African communities and in remote Central. We develop a system of differential equations for an SEIR (Suspected, Exposed, Infected and Recovered) model and analyze the outbreak of monkeypox disease and its effect on United States(US) population. We establish theorems on asymptotical stability conditions for endemic equilibrium and disease-free equilibrium. The basic reproduction number R0 has been determined using next generation matrix. We expect that this study will be effective at controlling monkeypox spread in United States. Our goal is to see whether monkeypox can be controlled and destroyed by smallpox vaccination. We find that monkeypox is controllable and can be fully destroyed in disease free state by vaccination. However, in the endemic state, monkeypox cannot be destroyed by vaccination alone.
