An Evaluation of Physical Properties of Metal Sprayed Coating According to Concrete Surface Treatment Methods (콘크리트 표면 처리 방법에 따른 금속 용사 피막의 물리적 특성 평가)

  • Social infrastructure facilities can be destroyed instantly when exposed to EMP (ElectroMagnetic Pulse), causing social chaos. However, concrete structures with low electrical conductivity cannot expect EMP shielding effect. Therefore, in this study, a metal sprayed thin film showing excellent EMP shielding performance was applied to a concrete structure to evaluate the metal spray welding efficiency and adhesion performance of the thin film according to the concrete surface treatment method. As a result according to the concrete surface treatment method, It was confirmed that the use of a roughening agent that generates physical irregularities in order to improve the welding efficiency and adhesion performance increases the physical performance of the concrete and metal sprayed thin film.

A Study on the Electrical Conductivity and Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding Characteristics of Metal Sprayed Coating (금속 용사 피막의 전기전도도 및 전자파 차폐 특성에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, the electrical conductivity and shielding effect were evaluated according to the type of metal and the thickness of Metal sprayed coating. The metals used for the test are Cu, Cu-Ni and Cu-Zn, and the thicknesses were 100, 200, 500 um. Each metal sprayed coating was evaluated for electrical conductivity and electromagnetic shielding effect. When the thickness was 200 ㎛ or more, shielding effect 80 dB or more was satisfied at 1 GHz. However, in the case of Cu-Ni, there is little electrical conductivity at a thickness of 100 um or less due to the generated voids, and electromagnetic wave shielding performance cannot be expected. Therefore, To ensure electromagnetic shielding effect of structures, it is considered that the minimum thickness of metal spraying coating should be 200 um.

The Fabrication of Thermal Sprayed Photocatalytic $TiO_{2}$ Coating on Bio-degradable Plastic

  • For the production of further functional bio-degradable plastic(polybutylene succinate:PBS) with $TiO_{2}$ as photocatalyst, which shows the decomposition of detrimental organic compound and pollutant under ultraviolet irradiation, we attempted to prepare $TiO_{2}$ coatings on PBS substrate by HVOF and plasma spraying techniques under various conditions. The microstructures of coatings were characterized with SEM and XRD analysis, and the photocatalytic efficiency of coatings was evaluated through the photo degradation of gaseous acetaldehyde. The effects of primary particle size and spraying parameters on the formation behavior, photo catalytic performance and mechanical characteristics of the coatings have been investigated. The results indicated that with respect to both the HVOF sprayed $P_{200}$ and $P_{30}$ coatings, the high anatase ratio off 100% can be achieved regardless of fuel gas pressure. On the other hand, the HVOF sprayed $P_{7}$ coating exhibited largely decreased anatase ratio (from 100% to 49.1%) with increasing the fuel gas pressure, which may be attributed to the much higher susceptibility to heat of 7nm agglomerated powder. In terms of photocatalytic efficiency, HVOF sprayed $P_{200}$ and $P_{30}$ coatings seem to predominate as compared to that of plasma sprayed $P_{200}$ coatings owing to the higher anatase ratio. However, the HVOF sprayed $P_{7}$ coatings didn't show the photo catalytic activity, which may result from the extremely small reaction surface area to the photo-catalytic activity and low anatase ratio. Such functional PBS with new roles is expected to cosiderably contribute to the reduction of aggravated environmel problem.

Dispersibility and Flexural Toughness Evaluation of Fiber Reinforcement Cellular Sprayed Concrete by added Foam (기포를 혼입한 섬유보강 셀룰러 스프레이 콘크리트 공법의 분산성 및 휨인성 평가)

  • In this paper, dispersibility of steel fiber is improved mixing with form for material development of protection and blast resistant structure sprayed concrete. And it is developed a high toughness cellular sprayed concrete material using steel fiber. Oversupply form for dispersibility improvement of steel fiber is mostly fade away through sprayed, finally it is satisfied with the proper mixing ratio under 3 % ~ 6 %. This is considered for compressive strength and flexural toughness. Test results of compressive strength showed superior strength capability in 28, 56 days, also flexural strength and flexural toughness is great. Then oversupply form is enhanced for dispersibility of steel fiber and I think that it did not cause decreasing of strength. But analysis results of pore structure through image analysis failed for a great spacing factor and specific surface area. This is largely measured in spacing factor because air content have a grate evaporation effect for sprayed.

  • This study was investigated absorption properties of electromagnetic wave in thermal sprayed Sr-ferrite coatings. The experiment of this study was ; manufactured thermal spraying powder for improving absorption-efficiency, processed for increasing strength of thermal spray coatings, and measured the electromagnetic wave shielding efficiency. This study was obtained excellent absorption-efficiency by thermal sprayed Sr-ferrite coatings.

  • The present report is the investigation of the effects of the HIP treatment on plasma-sprayed ceramic coating of $Al_2O_3$, $Al_2O_3-SiO_2$ on the metal substrate. These effects were characterized by phase identification, Vickers hardness measurement, and tensile test before and after HIPing.

Growth Characteristics and Ginsenosides Content of 4-Year-Old Ginseng by Spraying Lime-Bordeaux Mixture in Panax ginseng C. A. Meyer (석회보르도액 처리에 따른 4년근 인삼의 생육과 진세노사이드 함량 특성)

  • An important factor in the production of organic ginseng is the control of $Alternaria$ blight and anthracnose, which mostly affect the leaves in the summer. We compared the effects of a lime-bordeaux mixture (LBM) and agricultural chemicals on the growth characteristics and ginsenoside content in 4-year-old ginseng plants when they were sprayed at 15-day intervals from mid-June to the end of September. The increases in leaf length, and survive-leaf ratio in plants sprayed with LBM were greater than the increases of the control plants, but less than those of agricultural chemicals treatment. The root weight per plant in the plants sprayed with LBM increased more distinctly than that in the control plants, while it was significantly lower than that in plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals. The root yield in plants sprayed with LBM increased by 21% compared to the root yield in the control plants, but decreased by 7% compared to that in plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals because of the decreases in leaf area and survive-leaf ratio. Spraying of LBM had a significant effect on the ginsenoside contents. The total ginsenoside content was highest in the control plants and lowest in the plants sprayed with agricultural chemicals and total ginsenoside contents was great relative to survive-leaf ratio and root weight.

Cooling Heat Transfer from a Rotating Roll by Impinging Water Spray Jets (회전 실린더의 스프레이 분사 냉각에 관한 열전달 연구)

  • The cooling heat transfer by impinging water spray jets on a rotating roll with a relatively large diameter has been investigated under various experimental conditions with 3 different sizes of flat type nozzle. The local heat transfer coefficients were calculated by finite difference method using measured surface temperatures of the circular cylinder as boundary conditions. Results show that a peak value of the heat transfer coefficient is located at the center of sprayed area and there may be a secondary peak at the downstream. The average heat transfer coefficients on the sprayed area were found to be 10 to 22 ㎾/$m^2$$^{\circ}C$, and were not related to spraying pressure, but approximately linearly to flow rate of sprayed water. Also it is found that increasing the distance from roll to nozzle could improve the cooling efficiency by increasing the sprayed area.
