Recently, the interest in artificial environment made by mankind as well as natural environment has been increased. This interest in the environment began to be reflected in the physical education, which environmental problems affect modern people's living quality as a crucial factor affecting directly or indirectly our life. Furthermore, since we entered the era of mass sports the physical education subject has dealt with destruction of natural environment by constructing golf courses, ski slopes, etc., destruction of ecosystem by water sports, mountaineering sports, aero sports, etc., and noise pollution near the sport facilities. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to examine the means to reinforce environmental education in many ways in the physical education concerning environmental problems. For this purpose this paper analyzed the contents of the 7th curriculum for physical education which can be thought to be teaching materials for environmental education, and described the contents in detail. Also, this paper established the orientation and goals of environmental education in the physical education subject and examined some important teaching and learning methods. In addition, this paper suggested some considerations concerning environmental education and a textbook model for the development of physical education textbooks connecting with the 7th curriculum for physical education, which is to suggest a means to connect physical education with environmental education smoothly. The physical education has an attribute that its activities like swimming, climbing mountains, and camping are performed outdoor. The physical activities in the physical education are, of course, performed in the environment, so we had better implement the environmental education including such physical activities at the same time with physical education. Also, there should be efforts so that the education through environment, the education about environment, and the education in the environment can be implemented along with the physical education.
The purpose of study was to exploring on the educational values in after school physical programs. The participants were students in grades 5 (3), after school parents who are interested in sports activities (3), after school sports activities led by experienced teachers in three of were selected as study participants. The data were collected through in-depth interviews, collected data were transcribed and coded for domain analysis, classification analysis. The analysis of the results were as follows. After school physical activities, educational significance of the various values of physical activity experiences, meeting with school physical education and sport, educational welfare: the elimination of educational disparities, physical culture, introductory appeared.
This paper empirically analyses patterns of time allocation of the elderly, examining economic participation and volunteer work or social activities under the assumption that such activities have positive effects not only on the individuals and on the local communities but also on the society as a whole. As the result of descriptive analysis on the Korean Time Use Survey 1999, 2004 and 2009, the adults aged 60 to 64 years decrease time for paid work rapidly while increase time for passive leisure comparably slowly. In terms of time for active leisure, they devote less time to volunteer work and social activities, however, more time to self-centered activities such as education, cultural events, sport and fitness, and religious work. The overall pattern of decrease in time on economic or social participation for the elderly appeared be more significant in the birth cohorts of the early 1940s than those born in the late 1930s. The analysis implies that it is necessary for the government to encourage them to participate in community activities, either economic or social, with necessary policy responses. The result of the Tobit analysis on the dependent variables of each type of the 6 leisure activities demonstrated the self-centered active leisure time has increased over the last decaseds, whose pattern appeared to be more strengthened when the proportion of the elderly with higher education has increased.
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of three different plates($0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ$}, $20^{\circ}$)under heels on the lower limb muscles and erector spinae during squat exercise. Ten high school korean traditional wrestling players(age: $18.5{\pm}0.7$, weight: $1972.2{\pm}128.5N$, height: $177.8{\pm}6.0cm$, weight of barbell: $1004.5{\pm}132.4N$) performed squat exercise using three different tilting plates under heels at a cadence of 40beats/sec with 80% one repetition maximum load. Surface electrodes were placed on the participants' left and right erector spinae, and rectus femoris, vastus medialis, vastus lateralis, tibialis anterior, biceps femoris, medial gastrocnemius, and lateral gastrocnemius in the right lower extremity. One S-VHS camcorder(Panasonic AG456, 60fields/s) was placed 10m to the side of the participant. To synchronize the video and EMG data, a synchronization unit was used for this study. Average and Peak IEMG values were determined for each participant. For each variable, a one-way analysis of variance was used to determine whether there were significant differences among three different tilting plates under heels. When a significant difference was found in plates type, post hoc analyses were performed using the Tukey procedure. A confidence level of p<.05 was used to determine statistical significance. As a result of this study, maximum nEMG values of the tibialis anterior in $0^{\circ}$ plates was significantly higher than the corresponding values for the other plates during the knee extension. This increased activation in the tibialis anterior muscle indicates an increase in displacement of center of gravity of body. It is very likely that additional muscle activation are needed to stop the forward and backward movement. The results also showed that muscular activities of quadriceps femoris and erector spinae were decreased with increasing angle of plates. This suggests that increasing angle of plate may help to sustain the balance and posture of squat exercise. It is considered that very few significant differences were found among three different plates($0^{\circ}$, $10^{\circ}$, $20^{\circ}$) since elite players with much experience in squat exercise, were chosen as a participant of this study. In order to obtain meaningful results regarding the tilting angle of heel plates in squat exercise, kinetic and 3D kinematic analysis will be needed in the future study.

This study was to investigate gender differences in muscle activities on tibialis anterior muscle, gastrocnemius and vastus medialis obliqus and outside and prime mover, antagonist and assistance mover during golf drive swing by electromyography. Ten healthy professional golfers (KPGA(n)=5, KLPGA(n)=5) volunteered in this experiment. All statistical analyses were performed using SPSS. Statistical differences were assess using t-test (p<.05). The conclusion of this study was as following. Muscle dislocation of differences, according to gender, was the highest in case of males in right side of gastrocnemius with the section from the address to the backswing of top and was the highest in case of females in tibialis anterior muscle. Results also show that prime mover was left side of low muscle in case of male with all the sections and situations and is right side low muscle in case of female. These results were significant differences. In case of males, it was though that primer mover was left side of tibialis anterior muscle with moving weight from backswing of top till the address section. In case of females, primer movers were right side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle with pushing action form the right knee to the left knee. Therefore, if they try to do the training be able to development right side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle in case of females and left side of vastus medialis obliqus and tibialis anterior muscle in case of males, it is consider that golfers' distance and direction will get better.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effect of climbing resistance training on GLUT-4 protein and LDH isozyme activities of the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles in rats. Each experimental group was randomly divided into a control group (n=6) and a resistance exercise (n=6) group. Sprague-Dawley rats were made to climb a 180 cm tower for 12 wk. Weight changes in the resistance exercise group were significantly higher than in the control group (p<0.05). GLUT-4 protein expression of the soleus and gastrocnemius muscles was significantly higher (p<0.05) in the resistance exercise group than in the control group. There was no difference in soleus tissue LDHA4 isozyme activity between the groups. In the case of other LDH isozyme, when compared with the control group, the resistance exercise group showed a significantly higher activity (p<0.05). LDHA4 activity of gastrocnemius muscle tissue was not different between the groups. However, the activity of the resistance exercise group of all the other LDH isozymes was significantly higher than that of the control group (p<0.05). In summary, based on the results of this study, over 12 weeks of resistance training, the total body weight of the rats was reduced and the GLUT-4 activity in the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles was increased. In addition, except for LDH A4 all of the other LDH isozymes activities were increased. These results suggest that climbing resistance training affects the balance of body composition, increases LDH B-type isoenzymes and glucose metabolism capacity, and improves mitochondrial function.
The purpose of this research was to examine changes in the physical fitness, activities of daily living performance, and cognitive status of the frail elderly by combined exercise programs. The combined exercise program consisted of an aerobic exercise for the elderly and a four-color ladder exercise for improving of cognitive ability and physical fitness. Twenty-one frail elderly participated in this study, they were divided into 12 exercise groups and nine control groups. The exercise group conducted the combined exercise program of 60 minutes, twice a week, for10 weeks, while the control group maintained their normal lives. Strength, flexibility, agility, coordination, ADL and MMSE-K were measured. Exercise group showed significant improvement in grip strength compared to control group. In addition, ADL showed significant improvement only in the exercise group. The results of this study showed that participation in the combined exercise program of the el derl y was effective in improving the grip strength, and in preventing various physical functions and cognitive conditions decline.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of either endurance training only or endurance and weight training on muscle morphology and oxidative enzyme activities in human skeletal muscles. Fourteen healthy males were randomly divided into one of two experimental training groups, either swim exercise training (n=7, ST) or combined exercise training (swim and resistance exercise training; n=7, SWT). The change of muscle fiber type was not significantly different between ST and SWT following 6 weeks of exercise training. Mean cross sectional areas as well as the numbers of capillary of different types of muscle fiber were not also significantly different from baseline for both exercise training groups (p>.05) although the tendency of increase were more notable in SWT. All oxidative enzyme activities (i.e., ${\beta}$-hydroxyl acyl dehydrogenase, citrate synthase, and carnitine palmitoyl transferase) were marginally higher in SWT compared to ST even though statistical power did not reach the level of significance. Based on these results, it was concluded that performing of combined (swimming and weight) exercise training could be the better modality for improving muscle morphological changes and oxidative enzyme activities than performing of only single aerobic exercise intervention in young healthy human skeletal muscles.
In this study, a conceptual study was performed for the leisure boat simulator used for navigation training. The aim of this work was to secure the basic operational capability of a leisure boat as a simulated driving device for a general novice operator. A leisure boat simulator was designed to support a user more efficiently regarding navigation proficiency and safety training, as well as to minimize the limitation of place and time and it conveniently and cheaply. A cockpit for navigation status display and operational input, 3D visualization graphic device, and parallel display device were designed to give the trainee a maximum sense of reality by applying a motion platform with six degree of freedom, in which disturbance movement such waves, winds, and tide were simulated for the operator. Leisure boat simulator training scenario was developed by analysis of water-related leisure activities act and sea traffic safety act.
The purposes of this study were to identify cosmetics purchasing behavior according the 20-30 year old men's lifestyle. The results were as follows; 1. The factors of men's lifestyle were sense of fashion, participation of social activities, use of web-based information, sense of androgyny, economical efficiency, provision of web-base information, sport activities, and pursuit of change, and they were segmented into a passive stagnant group, a economic web-base information utilizing group, a positive social activity participation group, and a sensitive appearance change pursuit group. 2. Passive stagnant group used less information sources patronized cosmetics specialty store, did not select their cosmetics by themselves, and spent less for their cosmetics. Economic web-base information utilizing group used information sources positively, patronized cosmetics discount store or internet shopping, and spent less for cosmetics. Positive social activity participation group patronized cosmetics specialty store or discount store, but did not select cosmetics by themselves. Sensitive appearance change pursuit group patronized department store or internet shopping for cosmetics, selected cosmetics by themselves, and spent more. 3. Passive stagnant group showed a tendency of older, less educated, and lower incomes, but economic web-base information utilizing group were among the age of 20's, lower educated, and the unmarried with average incomes. Positive social activity participation group showed a tendency of older, highly educated, and the married with jobs, but sensitive appearance change pursuit group were among the age of 20's and university students with more incomes and pocket money.
