Image Transform Using B-spline Interpolation (비-스플라인 보간법을 이용한 영상 변환)

  • 본 논문은 비-스플라인(B-spline) 보간법을 이용한 영상의 변환에 대하여 논한다. 국소적인 영상의 정보나 세분화된 영상의 정보를 얻기 위해 영상의 확대 변환이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 영상의 확대 변환을 위해 선형 (linear), 큐빅 (cubic), 인근치 (nearest neighbour)등의 보간법 [2]과 비-스플라인(B-Spline) 보간법[1][3][4]을 적용하였다. 실험을 통하여 비-스플라인 보간법이 현재 많이 사용되고있는 인근치 보간법, 선형 보간법, 큐빅 보간법들 보다 상대적으로 우월한 영상의 질을 가져옴을 보였다. 결론적으로, 영상의 기하학적 변환에 있어 기존의 세 가지 보간법들 보다 비-스플라인 보간법을 사용한 경우에 더 좋은 결과를 가지며, 비-스플라인 함수의 차수가 고차로 갈수록 영상의 질이 향상됨을 알 수 있다. 렌즈 등에 의한 왜곡현상을 가지고 있는 위성 사진이나 의료 영상을 기하학적 변환을 통하여 보정하는데 비-스플라인 보간법을 적용할 수 있다.

Comparison of Channel Estimation Schemes for Digital Broadcasting System in a Mobile Environment (이동 환경에서 디지털 방송 시스템을 위한 채널 추정 기법의 성능 비교)

  • In this paper, the performances of various channel estimation schemes for DVB-H system are investigated. The linear interpolation, the second order interpolation, the cubic spline interpolation, and the time-domain interpolation, which are used in frequency domain, are chosen as the channel estimation schemes. We derived the performances of Mean Square Error (MSE), Bit Error Rate (BER), and the complexity of calculation in Rayleigh and Rician fading channel through computer simulations. From the simulation results, the cubic spline interpolation shows the best performance under high $E_b/N_0$ environments.

  • The purposes of this paper is to propose new techniques to reconstruct measured optical images by using the template matching and B-Spline interpolation method based on image processing technology. To do this, we detect the matching template and non-matching template from each optical image. And then, we match the overlaped images from base level by correcting roll, pitch, and yaw error of images. At last, the matching image is interpolated by B-Spline interpolation. Finally, we show the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed method through some experiments.

  • ELM, a characteristic line based method, was applied to advection-dispersion equation, and the results obtained were compared with those of Eulerian schemes(Stone-Brian and QUICKEST). The calculation methods consisted of Lagrangian interpolation scheme and cubic spline interpolation scheme for the advection calculation, and the Crank-Nicholson scheme for the dispersion calculation. The results of numerical methods were as follows: (1) for Gaussian hill: ELM, using Lagrangian interpolation scheme, gave the most accurate computational result, ELM, using cubic spline interpolation scheme, and QUICKEST scheme gave numerical damping for Peclet number 50. Stone-Brian scheme gave phase shift introduced in the numerical solution for Peclet number 10 and 50. (2) for advanced front: All schemes gave accurate computational results for Peclet number 1 and 4. ELM, Lagrangian interpolation scheme, and Stone,Brian scheme gave dissipation error and ELM, using cubic spline interpolation scheme, and QUICKEST scheme gave numerical oscillation for Peclet number 50.

  • 보간법은 기본적으로 원래의 영상을 연속적인 함수 모형으로 나타내고 이 함수로부터 다시 샘플링을 하여 원하는 영상을 얻는 방식으로 접근한다. 본 논문에서는 다른 연속 함수모델보다 진동이 적고 필터 계수가 적은 B-spline 함수를 사용한다. 된 논문의 최적 보간 방법은 원래의 신호와 얻고자 하는 신호를 각각 spline함수로 나타내고, 이 둘의 차이가 가장 작은 것을 선택하는 것이다. 그러기 위해서는 여러 개의 spline계수 중에서 원래 신호와의 L$_2$-norm이 가장 작은 것을 선택해야 한다 이러한 최적 보간법을 일반화하기 위해서 spline 함수로 표현된 신호를 다시 샘플링 하여 신호를 얻고, 그 신호를 공간에 따라 변화하는 spline함수의 합으로 나타낸다. 그리고 이렇게 나타낸 함수들 중에서 원래의 함수와 가장 가까운 것을 선택하도록 함으로써 일반화될 수 있다. 이러한 최적화 된 비정규점 리사이징 알고리즘은 다른 알고리즘에 비해서 더 적은 오차를 나타냄을 확인할 수 있다.

Three interpolation methods-Bilinear, Bicubic Spline, and Gregory-Newton interpolation-were used, compared, and analyzed in terms of the visual comparison and numerical analysis in the hilly terrain and relatively flat terrain.

  • As the modern society develops into the digital information age, the application field is gradually expanded and used as an important field. The image data is deteriorated due to various causes in the process of transmitting the image, and typically there is salt & pepper noise. Conventional methods for removing salt & pepper noise are somewhat lacking in noise canceling characteristics. In this paper, we propose a weighted filter using the histogram of the image damaged by salt & pepper noise and a spline interpolation method according to the direction of the local mask.

  • Up until now, it is said that no satisfactory computer solutions have been found for synthesizing four-bar linkage based on the prescribed coupler link curve. In our study, an algorithm has been developed to improve the design synthesis of four-bar linkage automatically generating prescribed path by using B-spline interpolation. The suggested algorithm generates the desired coupler curve by using B-spline interpolation, and hence the generated curve approximates as closely as to the desired curve representing coupler link trajectory. Also, when comparing each generated polygon with the control polygon, rapid comparison by applying convex hull concept. finally, optimization process using ADS is incorporated into the algorithm based on the 5 precision point method to reduce the total optimization process time. As for examples, three different four-bar linkages were tested and the results showed the effectiveness of the algorithm.

Comparison of the neural networks with spline interpolation in modelling superheated water (물의 과열증기 모델링에 대한 신경회로망과 스플라인법 비교)

  • In numerical analysis for phase change material, numerical values of thermodynamic properties such as temperature, pressure, specific volume, enthalpy and entropy are required. But the steam table or diagram itself cannot be used without modelling. In this study applicability of neural networks in modelling superheated vapor region of water was examined by comparing with the quadratic spline. neural network consists of an input layer with 2 nodes, two hidden layers and an output layer with 3 nodes. Quadratic spline interpoation method was also applied for comparison. Neural network model revealed smaller percentage error to quadratic spline interpolation. From these results, it is confirmed that the neural networks could be powerful method in modelling the superheated range of the steam table.

  • In numerically evaluating the thermal performance of the heat exchanger, numerical values of thermodynamic properties such as temperature, pressure, specific volume, enthalpy and entropy are required. But the steam table or diagram itself cannot be directly used without modelling. In this study the applicability of neural networks in modelling superheated water vapor was examined. The multi-layer neural networks consist of an input layer with 2 nodes, two hidden layers with 15 and 25 nodes respectively and an output layer with 3 nodes. Quadratic spline interpolation was also applied for comparison. Neural networks model revealed smaller percentage error compared with spline interpolation. From this result, it is confirmed that the neural networks could be a powerful method in modelling the superheated water vapor.
