회전하는 제어원주가 설치된 원주후류의 유동장에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Wake Flow behind a Circular Cylinder with a Spinning Control Cylinder)

  • An experimental study was conducted to investigate the influence of the spinning control cylinders which was set on the surface of a fixed circular cylinder in uniform flow, $Re=1.24\times10^4$. The measurements of velocity vectors and pressure distributions are carried out in various spin parameters and angles of spinning control cylinder. The results show that velocity profiles and pressure distributions are different with angles of control cylinder and spin parameters. When the control cylinder angle is $100^{\circ}$, there is more effect in increasing the velocity and the pressure distribution than other cases. In this case, the vortex shedding frequency was increased as increasing spin parameter.

  • The aerodynamic forces and wake structures of the non-rotating downstream cylinder which is located behind the spinning upstream cylinder in tandem and staggered arrangement have been investigated by experimental method at Re= $1.32{\times}10^4$. The measurements of wake flow and pressure distributions of downstream cylinder are carried out in various spin parameters by combination of both longitudinal spacing rations L/d=1.5, 3.0, 4.5 and transverse spacing ratios T/d =0.0, -0.5, 0.5. For the present experiment, it has been found that the spin parameter of spinning upstream cylinder affect more easily the downstream cylinder in tandem arrangement than that in staggered arrangement.

균일류의 회전원주 제어에 의한 유동 및 공력 제어효과에 관한 연구 (Control effects of the flow and the aerodynamic force around the downstream cylinder by a spinning upstream cylinder in uniform flow)

  • The aerodynamic forces and wake structure of the non-rotating downstream circular cylinder, of which the uniform freestream flow is interfered with another spinning upstream cylinder having the same diameter that is located upstream in a line have been investigated experimentally. When the spin rate of the downstream cylinder defined as the ratio of tangential surface velocity of the spinning cylinder to the freestream velocity increases gradually from zero to 1.4, the change of surface pressure distribution, aerodynamic forces of the non-rotating downstream cylinder were measured in case of several distance ratios of 1.5, 3.0, and 4.5 defined as the ratio of distance between the centers of two cylinders to the diameter. The wake flow patterns behind the cylinder were also investigated in each case. From the present experiments, it has been found that the spin rate significantly influences the aerodynamic forces and near-wake flow phenomena of the downstream cylinder in such a way that the drag increases as the spin rate and distance ratio increase and the wake width increases as the distance ratio increases.

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 펌프나 가스를 이용한 강제유동식 시스템과는 달리 회전원통을 이용한 유동대전현상에 대하여 연구하여, 강제유동식에서의 대전특성과 비교, 분석하였다. 연구결과, 회전원통 시스템에서의 회전원통의 회전속도 및 온도에 따른 유동대전 특성은 강제유동식과 같은 경향을 보여 회전원통 시스템이 유동대전현상을 연구하는데 적합함을 알 수 있었다. 회전원통시스템은 강제유동식에 비하여 실험장치의 기계적 구조가 간단하고, 적은 양의 절연유만이 필요하며, 여러 가지 다른 물질로 실험하기가 비교적 편리하였다. 또한 대전 방지제의 첨가나 절연유의 열화에 따른 대전현상 등을 연속적으로 측정할 수 있는 특징이 있음을 알 수 있었다.

Vorticity Analysis Associated with Drafting Cylinders for Pneumatic Spinning

  • Traditional spinning systems have reached profitability limits in developed countries due to high production costs and low system productivity. Pneumatic spinning is seen as a developing system, because productivity is much higher than conventional systems. This study evaluates one of the main problems to increase productivity in pneumatic spinning, where air mass-flow is dragged by the drafting cylinders. This flow interacts with the incoming fibres deviating them from their expected path. Via laser anemometry, airflow velocity distribution around drafting cylinders has been measured and it has been found that vorticity is created at the cylinder's inlet. Extensive CFD simulation on the air flow dragged by the cylinders has given a clear insight into the vortex created, producing valuable information on how cylinder design affects the vorticity created. Several drafting cylinder designs have been tested without giving any improvement in productivity. However, the use of a drafting cylinder with holes in it produced good results to the problem of air currents, strongly reducing them and therefore allowing a sharp increase in yarn quality, as well as an increase in productivity. An extensive study on vortex kinematics has been undertaken, bringing with it a better understanding of vortex creation, development and breakdown.

  • This paper persents the measurement method using a spinning cylinder system for stream-ing electrification of transformer oil. The spinning cylinder system has a simple mechan-ical construction, and requires less oil com-pared to the other methods. Alse, the effects of various admixtures on the static electri-fication and properties of tranformer oil can be easily investigated.   • This paper studied the streaming electrification of the U.H.V. transformer with the spinning cylinder system, and compared and analyzed it with the conventional forced flowing system which uses a pump or gas for oil flowing. Also, accumulated surface voltage in its electrified material was measured with the electrostatic voltmeter, and the effect of insulation oil aging was measured. As results, in spinning cylinder system, characteristics of the streaming electrification to its rotational speed and oil temperature are same tendency as those of tile forced flowing system and it showed the spinning cylinder system is useful to study the streaming electrification. And, aging of insulation oil increases the electricity of streaming electrification at initial stage of aging.

회전하는 원주후류의 2차원 난류구조 (Turbulent Wake Structure Behind a Spinning Circular Cylinder)

  • The coherent wake structures behind a spinning cylinder placed in a uniform flow were experimentally investigated by means of phase averaging technique. With a fixed cylinder Reynolds number (Re=6,600), the conditionally sampled velocity vectors were obtained at a section of 3.0 and 10 diameters behind the cylinder for the range of spin parameter S(the ratio of the peripheral velocity to that of the uniform flow) 0 to 2. Spectral analysis and vorticity contours of the velocity data show that up to S=1.2, a Karman vortex street exists within the wake, however, the coherent structures become obscure and their vorticity strength decreases as S increase. Beyond S=1.2, a distinct vortex shedding frequency no longer exists, furthermore coherent structures disappear when S is over 1.6.

휠 디스크 스피닝 성형기 개발 (Development of the Wheel Disc Spinning Machine)

  • The spinning machine has been developed for a bus and truck wheel disc which is manufactured by spinning process method. This machine has the mechanical structure with bed, 2-column, cross head, 2-vertical slide, 2-horizontal slide with forming roller, clamp slide and main spindle similar to large size vertical lathe. Main spindle attached the mandrel is rotated about 500rpm drived by 280kW power DC motor, and a rotating black material pressed on the mandrel with the clamp slide is spinformed by 2-forming rollers which are attached inner end of the 2-horizontal slides. The 2-vertical and 2-horizontal slides are actuated by the hydraulic cylinder which is controlled by the servo valve individially, and these servo valves are controlled by control signal of the CNC controller which is computed with position signal feedbacked from the encoder sensor. The developed machine can manufacture wheel disc of various section profile without mandrel change because section profile is easily modified using program editing in the CNC controller processor. The wheel disc manufactured by spinning process method has many advantages that the endurance is increased by 2 times and the weight is decreased by 30% compared with a conventional disc.

  • 액체로켓 엔진 재생냉각챔버의 무게 감량을 위하여 내피에 스피닝 공정을 적용하였다. 스피닝 도중 실린더부와 노즐목부의 블랭크에 파손이 발생하였다. 이 문제를 극복하기 위해 맨드럴 및 블랭크 형상을 수정하였으며 이러한 수정을 통해 스피닝을 사용하여 내피를 제작할 수 있었다. 제작된 노즐목부 스피닝 시제품은 균열이나 네킹없이 성공적으로 벌징이 되어 연소기 제작에 적용할 수 있는 충분한 성형성을 확보한 것을 확인하였다.
