  • The Historic Cultural Environment Conservation Areas around Chosun Royal Tombs in Gyeonggi Province are larger than those around other Cultural Assets, so more efficient management tools on the Areas should be needed. This study aims to suggest the directions of policy to modify the existing management tools by analyzing the spatial extent and alteration standards of the 12 Historic Cultural Environment Conservation Areas around Chosun Royal Tombs in Gyeonggi Province. The results of this study are as follows: First, in most cases, the spatial extents of the Areas are 500m, but the spatial extents should be precisely classified in Gyeonggi Ordinance of Cultural Assets Protection, and be excluded according to the layout of Protection Areas and roads. And the outside view from the inside is more important in Chosun Royal Tombs, so the areas on the axis of the view must be controled by considering the development density(bulk or height of buildings). Second, the same zoning areas must be classified as the same section of the Area allowing for equity, and Finally, the Current Conditions Permission Criteria should be actualized to take into account the difference between the development densities of zoning araes and the Criteria.

  • Two-stage concrete (TSC), also known as pre-placed aggregate concrete, is characterized by its unique placement technique, whereby the coarse aggregate is first placed in the formwork, then injected with a special grout. Despite its superior sustainability and technical features, TSC has remained a basic concrete technology without much use of modern chemical admixtures, new binders, fiber reinforcement or other emerging additions. In the present study, an experimental database for TSC was built. Different types of cementitious binders (single, binary, and ternary) comprising ordinary portland cement, fly ash, silica fume, and metakaolin were used to produce the various TSC mixtures. Different dosages of steel fibres having different lengths were also incorporated to enhance the mechanical properties of TSC. The database thus created was used to develop fuzzy logic models as predictive tools for the grout flowability and mechanical properties of TSC mixtures. The performance of the developed models was evaluated using statistical parameters and error analyses. The results indicate that the fuzzy logic models thus developed can be powerful tools for predicting the TSC grout flowability and mechanical properties and a useful aid for the design of TSC mixtures.

  • Although a conservation laboratory is a kind of hospital for cultural assets, it is often planned on the standard of ordinary offices. In this study, things and conditions to be considered for a new conservation laboratory were discussed and suggested briefly, for the sections of architecture, electricity and lightning, air condition, fire protection, machinery and tools. As methods of creating a workspace adequate to conservation work, the method of dividing workspace on the basis of workstand and the method of placing machinery and tools on the basis of water supply and sewage systems were explained., Because a conservation laboratory varies in its duties and functions, it seems difficult that all the standards and conditions suggested in this study be fulfilled in every case. But understanding general standards and conditions and choosing ones adequate to special functions of each laboratory will be helpful to planning a new conservation laboratory.

  • Most of the machine learning-based intrusion detection tools developed for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) are trained on network packet captures, and they rely on monitoring network layer traffic alone for intrusion detection. This approach produces weak intrusion detection systems, as ICS cyber-attacks have a real and significant impact on the process variables. A limited number of researchers consider integrating process measurements. However, in complex systems, process variable changes could result from different combinations of abnormal occurrences. This paper examines recent advances in intrusion detection algorithms, their limitations, challenges and the status of their application in critical infrastructures. We also introduce the discussion on the similarities and conflicts observed in the development of machine learning tools and techniques for fault diagnosis and cybersecurity in the protection of complex systems and the need to establish a clear difference between them. As a case study, we discuss special characteristics in nuclear power control systems and the factors that constraint the direct integration of security algorithms. Moreover, we discuss data reliability issues and present references and direct URL to recent open-source data repositories to aid researchers in developing data-driven ICS intrusion detection systems.

  • SAR interferometry (InSAR) using the space-borne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) have recently become one of the most effective tools monitoring surface changes caused by landslides, earthquakes, subsidences or volcanic eruption. This study focuses on examining the feasibility of InSAR using the RADARSAT data. Although the RABARSAT SAR with its high resolution and variable incidence angle has several advantages for repeat-pass InSAR, it has two key limitations: first, the orbit is not precisely known; and second, RADARSAT's 24-day repeat pass interval is not very favourable for retaining useful coherence. In this study, two pairs of RADARSAT data in the Nahanni area, NWT, Canada have been tested. We will discuss about the special consideration required on the interferometric processing steps specifically for RADARSAT data including image co-registration, spectral filtering in both azimuth and range, estimation of the interferometric baseline, and correction of the interferogram with respect to the "flat earth" phase contribution. Preliminary results can be summarized as: i) the properly designed azimuth filter based upon the antenna characteristic improves coherence considerably if difference in Doppler centroid of the two images is relatively large; ii) the co-registration process combined by fringe spectrum and amplitude cross-correlation techniques results in optimal matching; iii) the baseline is not always possible to be estimated from the definitive orbit information.

  • In this case study, We treated a transcortical aphasia patient with herbal medicine, acupunture and language therapy. We assessed the progress of the patient with Western Aphaia Battery(K-WAB), Boston Naming Test(BNT) and analysed the patient's speech at the series of pictures. The score of K-WAB and K-BNT was improved, the rate of statement at the theme of the picture was improved and the neologistic and verbal paraphasia was reduced. We think that the analysing the speech of the patient at the series of pictures to evaluate the practical problem of the patient would be useful. Further study is necessary about the utility of this assessment tools.

  • The subject of fractional calculus (that is, the calculus of integrals and derivatives of any arbitrary real or complex order) has gained considerable popularity and importance during the past over four decades, due mainly to its demonstrated applications in numerous seemingly diverse and widespread fields of mathematical, physical, engineering and statistical sciences. Various operators of fractional-order derivatives as well as fractional-order integrals do indeed provide several potentially useful tools for solving differential and integral equations, and various other problems involving special functions of mathematical physics as well as their extensions and generalizations in one and more variables. The main object of this survey-cum-expository article is to present a brief elementary and introductory overview of the theory of the integral and derivative operators of fractional calculus and their applications especially in developing solutions of certain interesting families of ordinary and partial fractional "differintegral" equations. This general talk will be presented as simply as possible keeping the likelihood of non-specialist audience in mind.
