The study examines the performance and its relationship with capital structure and agency cost with respect to the industrial configurations and economic groups of Pakistan Economy. The study employs data set of 334 listed joint stock companies from the nonfinancial sectors for the period of 1999-2009 from cotton and textile, engineering, chemical, sugar, cement, fuel and energy, paper and board, transport and communication, and miscellaneous economic groups. Pooled data from the Panel data methodology has been applied to observe the significance of different performance measures through determinant of capital structure and agency costs with special focus on the leverage and cash flows as the direct determinant and interactive variables. The empirical test results using redundant variable tests demonstrate support for agency theory in the context of Pakistan's industrial configurations. The implications of the study point towards more investigations on the subject using industrial configurations as control and moderating variables.

Since the recently established obligation to implement safety and health measures for specialized workers as outlined in the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) for nine occupations in January 2020 and five occupations in November 2021, there is a need to verify and inspect the on-site operation of related systems. After a comprehensive fact-finding survey and risk factor analysis, it is necessary to examine the responsibility for on-site safety and preventive measures, along with the roles and responsibilities of specialized workers. Stakeholder analysis is essential to identify the fundamental problems related to the responsibility stipulated in the purpose of OSHA and to explore the entity responsible for implementing safety measures. Therefore, in this paper, we discuss the topic of implementation based on legal standards for on-site safety and preventive measures. Additionally, we develop a role model for appropriate safety measures, outlining the dynamic relationship between those who provide labor and those who provide labor in the context of specialized workers.

An integrated neutron interrogation system has been developed for non-destructive assay of highly-radioactive special nuclear materials, to accumulate knowledge of the method through developing and using it. The system combines a differential die-away (DDA) measurement system for the quantification of nuclear materials and a prompt gamma-ray analysis (PGA) system for the detection of neutron poisons which disturb the DDA measurements; a common D-T neutron generator is used. A special care has been taken for the selection of materials to reduce the background gamma rays produced by the interrogation neutrons. A series of measurements were performed to test the basic performance of the system. The results show that the DDA system can quantify plutonium of as small as 20 mg and it is not affected by intense neutron background up to 1.57 × 10⁷ s^-1 and gamma ray of 4.43 × 10¹⁰ s^-1. The gamma-ray background counting rate at the PGA detector was reduced down to 3.9 × 10³ s^-1 even with the use of the D-T neutron generator. The test measurements show that the PGA system is capable of detecting 0.783 g of boron and about 86.8 g of gadolinium in 30 min.

종교시설에서 사용되는 예배용 특수조명의 설치 사례를 통하여 현재 특수조명의 현황 및 발전 방향에 대하여 알아보고, LED 설치사례를 적용하여, 예전과 다른 기능적인 특징에 대하여 알아보았다. 할로겐 등기구에서 LED 등기구로 교체하였을 때, 조명경제성 평가에 따른 적용으로 약 25%가량 절감이 되는 것으로 확인되어 LED 등기구의 기능적인 요인과 함께 앞으로 많이 적용 될 것이라고 사료된다.

To improve the educational system of Korea Maritime Police Agency(KMPA), the authors investigate and evaluate the present course and curricula in details comparing with the systems of USCG and JCG. As a result, it is suggested that KMPA find the diverse route to recruit good-quality officers, develop the future-oriented system, coordinate the course and curricula to meet the role and mission of KMPA. Besides, KMPA build the own training facility and train special instructors.

2011년 8월 4일에 개정된 법률에 따라 소방특별조사는 소방시설의 유지·관리 등을 관계인(소유자·관리자·점유자)이 하고 이에 대한 책임도 관계인에게 주어졌다. 소방특별조사는 기존의 모든 소방대상물에 직접 출입하여 소방시설의 유지·관리 상태 등을 조사하는 대신에 매년 일부 대상물을 선별하여 방문하고 소방시설의 유지·관리 상태 등을 확인하고 잘못된 부분에 대하여 시정하고 그 책임에 대하여 과태료 등의 처분을 하는 것이다. 이 제도를 도입한 이유가 관계자의 책임을 강화하여 민간자율정정제도의 정착, 소방전문 인력의 부족, 빈번한 대민접촉에 따른 부패의 개연성과 소방검사에 따른 소방기관의 책임 등이 고려되었다. 그러나 소방특별조사제도를 도입하여서도 여러 가지 문제가 대두되고 있다. 소방안전을 위한 제도 중 하나인 소방특별조사는 관계 법령에 따라 소방대상물에 설치된 소방시설에 대하여 적합하게 설치·유지·관리되고 있는지를 관계 공무원, 특히 소방공무원이 확인하는 것이다. 소방특별조사는 1958년 소방법이 제정된 당시에 소방검사로 도입되어 최근까지 30여 차례의 개정과정을 거쳐, 현행 소방특별조사는 2003년 기존의 소방법체계가 4개의 법률로 분법화되면서 "화재예방, 소방시설 설치·유지 및 안전관리에 관한 법률"로 기존의 소방검사 소방특별조사로 변경되어 수용되었다.

우리나라의 유통산업분야에는 아직도 법적·제도적 보완시책이 부족하며, 특히 전통시장을 비롯한 중소 영세상인들에 대한 보다 체계적인 육성·지원방안이 시급한 실정이다. 이러한 전통시장을 지원하기 위해 2004년도에 제정된 전통시장 특별법의 지원대상과 범위는 종전에는 단위시장으로 국한하였으나, 이후 시장 및 상점가, 시장활성화구역, 더 나아가 상권활성화구역을 지정하여 지원할 수 있도록 확대시켜왔다. 그러나 전통시장 활성화 및 지원에 관한 기준이 되는 특별법이 전통시장의 개념을 다소 획일적으로 규정함으로 인해 무등록시장에 대한 법률적 개념의 미비함과 같은 문제점을 지니고 있다. 여기서 무등록시장이란 특별법에서 정한 계량화된 기준을 충족하지 못함에 따라 실제 시장기능 수행여부와 무관하게 법률적인 전통시장에 포함되지 않는 시장을 일컫는다. 본 연구는 이러한 특별법 규정에 대한 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 찾고자 논의를 전개한다. 사례는 모란민속5일장을 중심으로 한다. 본 연구는 새로운 시각으로 접근하고자 한다. 즉, 경험적인 측면에서 현실에 직접적으로 접목할 수 있는 논의를 하고자 한다. 따라서 최근 이슈화되고 있는 논의 중에 법적 보호를 받지 못하는 무등록시장을 중심으로 논의하는 한편, 연구방법론 측면에서 볼 때 규범적 연구방법론을 견지한다. 유통학 분야에 있어 기존의 연구가 대개는 경험적 분석기법을 많이 활용하지만, 본 연구의 특성상 법적 제도적인 관점으로 접근할 때 가장 효율적인 논의가 되기 위해서는 현장에서 바로 접목이 가능한 규범적 연구방법론을 택하여 본 연구를 전개하고자 한다.

Obesity is characterized by a state of chronic low-grade inflammation and insulin resistance, which are aggravated by the interaction between hypertrophic adipocytes and macrophages. In this study, we investigated the effects of tangeretin on inflammatory changes and glucose uptake in a coculture of hypertrophic adipocytes and macrophages. Tangeretin decreased nitric oxide production and the expression of interleukin (IL)-6, $IL-1{\beta}$, tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$, inducible nitric oxide synthase, and cyclooxygenase-2 in a coculture of 3T3-L1 adipocytes and RAW 264.7 cells. Tangeretin also increased glucose uptake in the coculture system, but did not affect the phosphorylation of insulin receptor substrate (IRS) and Akt. These results suggest that tangeretin improves insulin resistance by attenuating obesity-induced inflammation in adipose tissue.

학령인구는 지속적인 감소 추세이지만 특수교육대상자는 매년 증가하고 있다. 전원 특수교육대상자로 구성된 특수학교는 화재 발생 시 대피의 제약으로 인해 취약하다는 문제점이 있다. 하지만, 특수학교의 소방 및 안전과 관련한 계획서에서는 특수학교의 특성이 반영되지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 소방 및 학교안전계획의 분석 및 교직원 의견 수렴을 통해 조력자 배치 등 필수 항목을 선정하였다. 이후, 전문가의 의견 분석을 통해 특수학교의 특성을 반영한 화재대피 기본 시나리오를 제시하였다. 해당 시나리오가 향후 특수학교별 맞춤형 화재대피 시나리오 개발에 기여하기를 기대한다.

This paper describes an approach to detect interesting objects using satellite images. This paper focuses on the interesting objects that have common special patterns but do not have identical shapes and sizes. The previous technologies are still insufficient for automatic finding of the interesting objects based on operation of special pattern analysis. In order to overcome the circumstances, this paper proposes a methodology to obtain the special patterns of interesting objects considering their common features and their related characteristics. This paper applies MSER(Maximally Stable Extremal Regions) for the region detection and corner detector in order to extract the features of the interesting object. This paper conducts a case study and obtains the experimental results of the case study, which is efficient in reducing processing time and efforts comparing to the previous manual searching.
