  • Multi-target tracking based on the detector is a very hot and important research topic in target tracking. It mainly includes two closely related processes, namely target detection and target tracking. Where target detection is responsible for detecting the exact position of the target, while target tracking monitors the temporal and spatial changes of the target. With the improvement of the detector, the tracking performance has reached a new level. The problem that always exists in the research of target tracking is the problem that occurs again after the target is occluded during tracking. Based on this question, this paper proposes a DeepSORT model based on SIFT features to improve ship tracking. Unlike previous feature extraction networks, SIFT algorithm does not require the characteristics of pre-training learning objectives and can be used in ship tracking quickly. At the same time, we improve and test the matching method of our model to find a balance between tracking accuracy and tracking speed. Experiments show that the model can get more ideal results.

  • Considering the high dimensions of video sequences, it is often challenging to acquire a sufficient dataset to train the tracking models. From this perspective, we propose to revisit the idea of hand-crafted feature learning to avoid such a requirement from a dataset. The proposed tracking approach is composed of two phases, detection and tracking, according to how severely the appearance of a target changes. The detection phase addresses severe and rapid variations by learning a new appearance model that classifies the pixels into foreground (or target) and background. We further combine the raw pixel features of the color intensity and spatial location with convolutional feature activations for robust target representation. The tracking phase tracks a target by searching for frame regions where the best pixel-level agreement to the model learned from the detection phase is achieved. Our two-phase approach results in efficient and accurate tracking, outperforming recent methods in various challenging cases of target appearance changes.

  • In this paper, the detection scheme of the spatial coordinates based on stereo camera for a intelligent path planning of an automatic mobile robot is proposed. In the proposed system, face area of a moving person is detected from a left image among the stereo image pairs by using the YCbCr color model and its center coordinates are computed by using the centroid method and then using these data, the stereo camera embedded on the mobile robot can be controlled for tracking the moving target in real-time. Moreover, using the disparity mad obtained from the left and right images captured by the tracking-controlled stereo camera system and the perspective transformation between a 3-D scene. and an image plane, depth information can be detected. Finally, based-on the analysis of these calculated coordinates, a mobile robot system is derived as a intelligent path planning and a estimation.

  • Currently, there are many applications being developed based on sensor network technology. A tracking method for moving objects in sensor network is one of the main issue of this field. There is a little research on this issue, but most of the existing work has two problems. The first problem is a communication overhead for visiting sensor nodes many times to track a moving object. The second problem is an disability for dealing with many moving objects at a time. To resolve the problems, we, in this paper, propose a signature-based tracking method using efficient data aggregation for moving objects, called SigMO-TRK. For this, we first design a local routing hierarchy tree to aggregate moving objects' trajectories efficiently by using a space filtering technique. Secondly, we do the tracking of all trajectories of moving objects by using signature in a efficient way, our approach generates signatures to method. In addition, by extending the SigMO-TRK, we can retrieve the similar trajectories of moving objects for given a query. Finally, by using the TOSSIM simulator, we show that our signature-based tracking method outperforms the existing tracking method in terms of energy efficiency.

  • As the era of the fourth industrial revolution began, augmented reality showed infinite possibilities throughout society. However, current augmented reality systems such as head-mount display and hand-held display systems suffer from various problems such as weariness and nausea, and thus space-augmented reality, which is a projector-based augmented reality technology, is attracting attention. Spacial augmented reality requires precise tracking of dynamic objects to project virtual images in order to increase realism of augmented reality and induce user 's immersion. The infrared sensor-based precision tracking algorithm developed in this paper demonstrates very robust tracking performance with an average error rate of less than 1.5% and technically opens the way towards advanced augmented reality technologies such as tracking for arbitrary objects, and Socially, by easy-to-use tracking algorithms for non-specialists, it allows designers, students, and children to easily create and enjoy their own augmented reality content.

  • The goal of this study is to evaluate the KLT(Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi) for extracting and tracking the features using various data acquired from UAV. Sequences of images were collected for Jangsu-Gun area to perform the analysis. Four data sets were subjected to extract and track the features using the parameters of the KLT. From the results of the experiment, more than 90 percent of the features extracted from the first frame could successfully track through the next frame when the shift between frames is small. But when the frame to frame motion is large in non-consecutive frames, KLT tracker is failed to track the corresponding points. Future research will be focused on feature tracking of sequence frames with large shift and rotation.

  • This paper presents a graph-based method of detecting and tracking moving objects in H.264/SVC bitstreams for video surveillance applications that makes use the information from spatial base and enhancement layers of the bitstreams. In the base layer, segmentation of real moving objects are first performed using a spatio-temporal graph by removing false detected objects via graph pruning and graph projection, followed by graph matching to precisely identify the real moving objects over time even under occlusion. For the accurate detection and reliable tracking of moving objects in the enhancement layer, as well as saving computational complexity, the identified block groups of the real moving objects in the base layer are then mapped to the enhancement layer to provide accurate and efficient object detection and tracking in the bitstreams of higher resolution. Experimental results show the proposed method can produce reliable results with low computational complexity in both spatial layers of H.264/SVC test bitstreams.

  • A new automatic small target detection and tracking algorithm for the real-time IR surveillance system is presented. The automatic target detection and tracking algorithm of the real-time systems, requires low complexity and robust tracking performance in the cluttered environment. Linear-array and parallel-scan IR systems usually suffer from severe scan noise caused by the detector non-uniformity. After the spatial filtering and thresholding, this scan noise still remains as high amplitude clutter which degrades the target detection rate and tracking performance. In this paper, we propose a new feature which consists of area and validity information of a measurement. By adopting this feature to the measurements selection and track confirmation, we can increase the target detection rate and reduce both the track loss rate and false track rate. From the experimental results, we can validate the feasibility of the proposed method in the noisy IR images.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient algorithm for adaptation of tracking windwo, which improves tracking performance of a correlation-based video tracker by rejecting background effect originated from a time-varying target. Th eproposed adaptation algorithm ajdusts the size of a tracking window by using the ratio of spatial gradient power in target region to that in backgorund region, which is especially adequate for a correlation-based tracker. Experimental results for synthetic and real image sequences show that the proposed method adapts a tracking window well to a time-varying target and so greatly suppresses background effect, which makes improvement of trakcing performance.
