  • A number of previous researches in evolutionary algorithm are based on the study of facets we observe in natural evolution. The individuals of species in natural evolution occupy their own niche that is a subdivision of the habitat. This means that two species with the similar requirements cannot live together in the same niche. This is known as the competitive exclusion principle, i.e., complete competitors cannot coexist. In this paper, a new evolutionary programming algorithm adopting this concept is presented. Similarly in the case of natural evolution , the algorithm Includes the concept of niche obtained by partitioning a search space and the competitive exclusion principle performed by migrating individuals.   • In this paper, we developed a Windows 98 version of-line programming system which can simulate a track vehicle model in 3D graphics space. The track vehicle was adopted as an objective model. The interface between users and the off-line program system in the Windows 98's graphic user interface environment was also studied. The developing language is Microsoft Visual C++. Graphic libraries, OpenGL, by Silicon Graphics, Inc. were utilized for 3D Graphics.

  • In this paper, a new algorithm has been presented that helps to preserve diversity as well as to enhance the convergence speed of the evolutionary programming. This algorithm is based on the cell partitioning of search region for preserving the diversity. Until now, the greater part of researches is not concerned about preserving the diversity of individuals in a population but improving convergence speed. Although these evolutions are started from multi-point search at the early phase, but at the end those search points are swarming about a one-point, the strong candidate. These evolutions vary from the original idea in some points such as multi-point search. In most case we want to find the only one point of the best solution not several points in the vicinity of that. That is why the cell partitioning of search region has been used. By restricting the search area of each individual, the diversity of individual in solution space is preserved and the convergence speed is enhanced. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm has been verified through benchmark test functions.

A New Solution for Stochastic Optimal Power Flow: Combining Limit Relaxation with Iterative Learning Control

  • A stochastic optimal power flow (S-OPF) model considering uncertainties of load and wind power is developed based on chance constrained programming (CCP). The difficulties in solving the model are the nonlinearity and probabilistic constraints. In this paper, a limit relaxation approach and an iterative learning control (ILC) method are implemented to solve the S-OPF model indirectly. The limit relaxation approach narrows the solution space by introducing regulatory factors, according to the relationship between the constraint equations and the optimization variables. The regulatory factors are designed by ILC method to ensure the optimality of final solution under a predefined confidence level. The optimization algorithm for S-OPF is completed based on the combination of limit relaxation and ILC and tested on the IEEE 14-bus system.

  • For Fast Real-time Recognition of Nonlinear Error Data, a new Neural Network algorithm which recognized the map in real time is proposed. The proposed neural network technique is the real time computation method through the inter-node diffusion, In the network, a node corresponds to a state in the quantized input space. Each node is composed of a processing unit and fixed weights from its neighbor nodes as well as its input terminal. The most reliable algorithm derived for real time recognition of map, is a dynamic programming based algorithm based on sequence matching techniques that would process the data as it arrives and could therefore provide continuously updated neighbor information estimates.   • The purpose of this study is to develop a rural stream environment management system (RUSEMS) using Object Oriented Programming (OOP). In this study, the management goals of RUSEMS were conceptualized and systemized. The objects which required in RUSEMS were developed, then the method and the attribute of the objects were also devised, and the hierarchy of the objects was constructed by OMT method in this study. The results of the system application showed that RUSEMS was enable to manage, to analyze, and to offer the information about the monitoring, analyzing of the rural stream pollution, and managing pollution source of the watershed and the rural stream environment management for the friendly water space.
